“Toby's is a great place to get quality liquor at a good price. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff and a good selection from around the world. Their tasting events are fun and educational.”
“I recently had the pleasure of visiting McWines at 225 Pemberton Ave in North Vancouver, and I can’t say enough good things. They offer a truly unique space for people who dream of making their own wine.
From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the setup: clean, well organized, and fully stocked with the supplies and equipment one needs to turn grapes into delicious wine. Another thing that I noticed, was the “at home” feeling and vibe of the whole place, it is such a cozy, cute place. It’s clear that they take their role as a home winemaking hub seriously.
But what really made the experience special was the personal touch. The staff were welcoming and took the time to walk me through each step of the process. They answered my many questions patiently and gave practical, experience based advice that elevated my confidence. I could tell they genuinely care about helping their customers succeed.
Excellent facilities, knowledgeable support, and a warm, community oriented spirit, not to mention that, I will be saving big $$$ by making my own wine!”
“The Gull Liquor Store is one of my favorite liquor stores in North Vancouver, especially when I'm looking for a good bottle of whisky. They have an impressive selection, ranging from popular everyday bottles to premium and harder-to-find options, making it a great place for both casual whisky drinkers and collectors.
One thing I really appreciate is how well organized the store is. It's easy to browse, compare different bottles, and discover something new. The variety of whiskies is excellent, and I often find products that aren't available at smaller liquor stores.
The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to offer recommendations without being pushy. Their passion for whisky and other spirits makes shopping there a pleasant experience.
Whether you're looking for a special bottle, a gift, or simply want to expand your whisky collection, The Gull Liquor Store is definitely worth visiting. The great selection, helpful staff, and welcoming atmosphere keep me coming back. Highly recommended for whisky enthusiasts!”
“I did not visit the store but I called in to ask if they had the Sons of Vancouver Amaretto in stock. The gentleman on the phone provided amazing customer service - although they did not have any in stock, he went above and beyond to advise trying another store!”
“Great selection and very helpful staff! I always find what I’m looking for here. The only downside for me is that it isn't pet-friendly, so I couldn't bring my small dog inside. I’ll definitely keep coming back, but I'll have to plan my walks differently! Otherwise, a top-tier store for service and variety.”
“Liberty Wine Merchants is hands down one of the best wine stores in the city! The selection is truly impressive, with a wide range of unique and quality wines to choose from. I was particularly impressed with their selection of natural and organic wines, which can be hard to find elsewhere. The staff here are exceptional. Lena, in particular, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She took the time to help me find the perfect bottle, sharing insights about different wines and making excellent recommendations based on my preferences. It's clear that she is passionate about wine, and her enthusiasm made the shopping experience even better.”
“Had a great experience at the tasting event today! Jaden was very helpful and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. Would love to come back for more!”
“My first vist to everything wine was worth it. They have a wide selection of wine, spirits and any other alcohol related products you would need for particularly everything occasion.”

“I’ve been a loyal customer of Edgemont Liquor Store for several years, and this review is truly past due. The store is impeccably clean and exceptionally well-organized, making it easy to find exactly what I need. Their selection is complete and diverse, catering to all tastes and preferences.
The staff at Edgemont are incredibly friendly and well-informed, always ready to assist with a smile. Special mention goes to Danny, whose extensive knowledge of wines is unparalleled. His recommendations have consistently been spot-on winners. Danny’s bright and happy energy makes every visit a delight. This is hands down the best shop I’ve ever visited – highly recommended!”
“Huge selection and the store is very well laid out. I was after something that I was having difficulty finding on the shelf and one of the stuff was awesome in helping me find it and also making another recommendation.”
“I don't have that much experience at this store... but was disappointed they didn't have Martini Rosso in stock? Will continue to go there as it's close by and will revise review.”
“Great service. Was looking for a particular product which I was having problem locating. Showed one of the employees a picture of the product and she took me right to it, and seamed to have knowledge of that particular product to. That's good PR imo.”
“I have only had really friendly local experience when going here and I love being a member of the co-op with member pricing.
Only one time I went to get a bottle of whiskey and the gentleman helping me didn't know llmust about whiskey but it didn't change my star rating”
“I went in to this liquor store not really knowing what to get for my thanksgiving dinner, and luckily Arianna was there to save the day with a recommendation! Very kind and helpful staff (:”
“The buyer here thinks about what they bring in and tries different options. Their Rum selection in particular I appreciate, and there have been a few times when I have bought extra or spent more because there is something rare or different that I have not seen anywhere else. The occasional sale promotion they run on some items helps as well.”
