3.5/5 Review on CafeteriaThis was a recent meetup spot with a friend who just had a baby recently. I choose this location as it was family friendly with a nursing room, and wide lanes for a stroller.I've loved the meatballs and tried the veggie version, it was a nope. I like "beyond meat" options and I prefer the Chinese wheat gluten version of meat texture. The lingeon berry sauce is on a diet of less sugar which was great, it did missed that splash of citrus as it was rather flavourless. Mash was cafeteria mash and peas were withering away in the warmer. The tomato soup surprised me as it actually tasted there were fresh tomatoes mixed in with its skin still in the soup. Very nice. Coffee was mild.I do like cafeteria's and this one was very nice and bright.Would be game changing if there were more options on cooked veggies and desserts that is not in the fridge and in a warmer. I appreciated actual cutlery and they did a fantastic job keeping the area clean.Note to IKEA, there was only one nursing room. With the amount of traffic IKEA brings esp to new moms doing shopping. I can see the amount of work moms have to do esp when their baby is brand new. Let's make their lives a little easier with these errands.

Not so satisfy with the stocking system. I went here twice and both time had hard time finding my stuff in the self serve aisle. The first time I came here for a desk and chair, the desk wasn’t placed where it says on the tag. I have to ask 2 staff in order to find where it supposed to be and turned out it’s out of stock, very confusing. The staffs are very attentive and friendly to help, otherwise I think I would just rate it 3 stars. The first staff looked up in his machine right when I first asked him, then he gave me a new location where to look for; but it wasn’t there and so I have to ask the second staff, and this time he checked in the PC and then walked with us to the location and it was not there too, so he searched around the area and turned out the item was out of stock!! The second time I went there was for a shelf, and the shelf was not at the location as well, and then I had to look around like the second staff did last time in order to find out…I didn’t take photo for the first time coz this is a really rare case that ever happened to me with any other IKEA experience, so I took photo for the second time as a proof!!And I don’t understand why the Salmon dish got sold out at 12:30pm while the shop opens at 10am and it was on a weekday!!

Another IKEA store that is under staff and it's hard to find somebody to talk too. If there is anybody, she/he is busy with another customer or you get a short and fast answer because she is in middle of helping someone or she has to help others too.

Enjoyable to visit: nice show rooms that will inspire you, nice cafeteria, plenty options for furniture and home decorations. The food place downstairs just outside the checkout offers $1 hotdogs and $2 frozen yogurt, not bad for a snack.

IKEA sent a defective packed product with missing screws to me when I bought an UPPSPEL gaming standing desk. The table top was too big to put in my car, so I ordered online and had it delivered and paid extra $60. When I got the package, one of the boxes was clearly ripped open and taped back together. And of course, a whole package of screws were missing. Not like 1 or 2 screws, the whole package of screws. When I went to the IKEA store, they said they don't have them and it'll take 7-10 business days to send to. So basically, I now have a $1000 standing desk that can't be secured for the next 2 weeks and used safely. IKEA is fast to deliver stuff when you pay, but after that its "oh replacement parts are 2 weeks out, sorry nothing we can do about that." Thought it would make my life easier to pay extra for delivery at $60, but I just paid for more frustration and while the employees tired to help, seems like IKEA's policy isn't one to look after customers after you pay.The box was clearly ripped open and someone taped it back. What quality control system do they have at IKEA that say "yup, this package is ok to send out." The desk looks nice, but guess I'll have to wait 2 weeks to make sure it's safe to use. Frustrating experience.

I like IKEA products, they have stylistic but simple designed, relatively inexpensive and most things I buy can be taken home in my hatchback. I had a good time browsing for ideas last visit to the Richmond location.

Although the selection is quite limited, the restaurant is an easy 5 star rating for me. For the money, the smoked salmon meal is one of the best meals in Vancouver. Sure, you can the same thing but better elsewhere, but for four times the price, and for twice the price you just have the same thing but a bit worse and with smaller portions. As for the furniture, that would've been an easy 5 star rating 20 years ago and 4 stars a decade ago, but IKEA keeps cutting corners and making their stuff worse and worse. A couple years ago, I got a foam mattress that collapsed just after it was eligible for return. In order to dispose of it, I cut it up and realized that they had failed to glue together some internal bits that were supposed to be glued together (and it wasn't just a bit short of, there was no glue at all in some places and it was just held together by friction and luck). Cheap wood items like their low end bed frames have a tendency to split (and I weigh 140lbs, so it's not like I'm over stressing the bed), their cheap tables have gotten smaller and thinner, etc. Some of their mid-range stuff is still quite a deal, e.g., $600 for the SKOGSTA table is quite a good deal, but you have to be really careful with what you're buying here in a way that wasn't true twenty years ago or even ten. I'll still shop here for some items but, for cheap furniture, used items from that used marketplace website are both cheaper and higher quality, and for higher end stuff, well, that was never IKEA's strong suit. Also, if something goes wrong with an order, customer service is basically non-existent.

My fav spot for weekday get away. North European cuisine in IKEA is healthy and great portion. Huge parking. Huge playground for kid. What I like the most is its accessibility that it offers just right next to Knight street. So when you cross Knighr bridge and keep right, turn right at Jacobs and you can get there :)

Clean restaurant with a no-nonsense menu up on the top floor facing north with a view of Vancouver and the mountains. I've come here a few times for a quick bite, plus afterwards, take a short tour down below and picked-up a few Swedish food items to take home.

As always the food wait takes long but their food is pretty good. Seating is plentiful. Ikea showrooms are awesome. It helps you get inspiration for your own space. You also see all the new stuff that they make. When choosing furniture, being able to try the thing you're supposed to buy. Testing how soft, hard, things are. Touching the material is also super important. I also like seeing how big/small things are. I want to see what things go along with each other. The finish is also important. You'll be able to see for yourself if the paint, veneer, glossy, or glass is something to your taste. Images and videos sometimes don't do the same justice. Some things look good in photos and some things look better in person but aren't as good in person. At the store, when you get tired since you can sit down on their displays unlike some places where they say don't sit down or lie down... You're able to try the real thing. They have relatively affordable furniture and some pricier ones so there's at least a range of choices. They also have cheap plants~ but I killed two succulents I got from there. The food section at the end is nice but it would be awesome if they added signage that they can do self checkout in the snack area. Cause there's normally no one in the check out area in the frozen foods. It can kinda feel like a maze when you first navigate there and are not familiar with the shortcuts you can take from the start to the end. So if for some reason you wanted to go to the bathroom you have to be good at spotting the signage. Clean bathrooms though~And there's a place where you can leave your kids, valuables, with plenty of parking.

If getting there from Vancouver, it is much easier to take the Oak St. bridge than the Arthur Laing.I always have a great time going to IKEA. The provided lockers are extremely helpful. The food was delicious, and for what I ordered I only paid $14!I was disappointed by the price of the whale stuffy, and the music that played in the women's bathrooms was slightly eerie... but overall I had a great time and found all the things I needed.I also love the interactive aspects of the lighting section.
