“I don’t normally write reviews, especially long reviews, but I felt that my experience here warranted a full explanation.
TLDR: My experience here was great. I have shopped around at many places, and Shamin checked all my boxes. I cannot recommend them more.
I’ve been looking to buy a custom engagement ring, and I was recommended Shamin Diamonds by a friend. I had previously been looking at the standard big businesses but couldn’t find one that satisfied all my expectations. I’ve read so much about poor quality, difficulty with maintenance, and of course, the cost. So I started liking the idea of going to a smaller independent jeweller more. Shamin Diamonds had very generous prices, cared about quality, and would help me with the ring if anything went wrong.
Shahraz, the owner, has met with me one-on-one since the beginning. I went in without really knowing the process, a bit standoffish, as I have always been worried about being taken advantage of when shopping for a ring. He was very welcoming, not pushy, and not judgmental.
We met a couple of times to design the ring together. He helped explain the importance of the 4 C’s and where you can cut some costs. We finalized the design of the ring, and I was trying to decide the carat of the diamond. He was never pushy and always respected my wants.
I decided to put in a custom engraving and some gemstones on the inside of the ring and finalized the order.
The ring came back perfect. Absolutely beautiful. The price was also the best I’ve seen.
The ring size was a little too big for my fiancé, but it was no problem. I went back to Shahraz with my fiancé, got her finger sized, and had the ring resized.
I highly recommend his shop. He is very welcoming, friendly, and not pushy. Even if you don’t ultimately choose to move forward with him, I think it is worth going in and chatting with him about an engagement ring.”
