“Extremely knowledgeable staff (all you need to say is an age range and interest and they will nail it with their recommendations!) and shelves bursting with books from a wide range of topics, age ranges (there are adult books too!) and backgrounds makes Kidsbooks one of the best bookstores I’ve visited, especially one catering specifically to younger readers. I especially liked the current, well-stocked hockey section!”
“A wonderful shop filled with an interesting, eclectic mix of books, ephemera, and other great stuff. Staff is professional, deeply knowledgeable, and more than willing to answer any questions posed. One of the best in town! Two thumbs up - more if I had 'em!”
“I'm updating this review to say that the Book Warehouse folks are doing an even better job as time goes on. Thank you! And keep up the good work. Happy 2026”
“Absolutely love this shop. Purchased my Kingsgate mall t-shirt here and I've never had so many compliments lol. Definitely recommend for unique gifts for yourself or others :)”
“Absolutely love, love, love this spacious and well-stocked store. There are always plenty of helpful staff available and so many new age products and gifts to browse through. Their wall of tarot cards probably can’t be beat by any other store.”
“Gorgeous bookstore. I’ve been going there for quite sometime and have always been able to find niche and popular books for school or personal reading. Today, I bought a T.S. Eliot illustrated book of poems about cats which I have been hunting down after seeing it at a rare books fair. Kestrel not only carried this weird book, but sold it to me for nine dollars!!! Very kind owner as well. Always a pleasure”
“Great local bookstore and very friendly ownership.
I've purchased many books from here over the years and I find their highlighted section up front to be full of great books, likely the best of any of the local bookstores.”

“This is one of the coolest book stores I’ve been too. They have a super unique selection with so many different books. Beware though, it’s very tight inside and sometimes impossible to pass by someone without going all the way around the shelves.”
“You're likely not going to find a particular book you're looking for here, as the store is small, but the stock they have is carefully curated and thoughtfully arranged to help you discover your next read.”

“The bookstore I wish existed when I was a kid <3 if you're looking for resources on mental health, disabilities or even just inclusive books for kids or adults, this is the place! They have a wonderful selection of books, tools, workbooks and fidgets.”
“Book store is well organized, staff are great although I didn’t find my desired book there which showed “Available “ online.? I wish I would call them before driving there from White Rock to Vancouver. But still it was a great time that me and my daughter spent together to look at the books and was able to buy some other books. I must have to add that the staff were very friendly and helpful on top of their knowledges about every single writers that we were asking about.
I gave four star only for the inconveniences due to their missing updates of their inventory.”
“John and his wife provide a much needed service to the Kerrisdale neighbourhood in proving a full service magazine and newspaper shop together with lottery and some snacks...seven days a week!! I cannot recall a day that they have not been open. They are totally dedicated to their many long term customers. It's wonderful to have such a commitment to the community.”
“I've been here many times to buy books. The owner is very friendly and knowledge about the products that she carries. Definitely recommend this place for parents and students!”
“The lovely lady who works here was so helpful. The books they stock are really interesting and good value. I got a couple of used Emily Carr books and one of them looked like it had never been read.”

“The staff are super nice! Be sure to check out this useful and lovely portable fabric cup holder in the bookstore. It’s handy for carrying drinks, especially when rushing to class :) There are other designs too!”
“UBC Bookstore feels like one of those places everyone should step into at least once, whether you are a visitor, a student, or just someone who accidentally wandered into campus and decided to explore a little more.
The store has a wide selection of textbooks, academic reference books, school supplies, and all kinds of UBC-related merchandise and accessories. I even found some water bottles that were surprisingly cute, which was a nice little bonus.
More than just a place to browse or pass the time, it also gives you a better sense of the scale and spirit of a major university like UBC. Walking around here makes the campus feel even more alive and established.
A fun and worthwhile stop if you are exploring the area.”
“Male owner/staff working at the register is always super friendly and always happy to answer questions. Lots of selection for old and new books. Always love coming here, incredibly good vibes ☺️”
“This location is beautifully laid out, with great displays, recommendations, and selection. I love they they had a local authors table, displays focused on diverse reading, and seasonal recommendations. Store was clean and staff was helpful. Spent a good hour in here and had to force myself to leave. Found some great books and treats during my visit.”
“Lovely shop. We were going to pass by but my daughter insisted on going in. It had lots of awesome options for our long train ride home. If I had more time I would have browsed longer but we quickly found a few things to entertain on the trip home! I loved how curated everything was but there was still a lot to look through. The staff were really nice too.”
