“Since our first stay in 2021, my husband and I have returned to The Loden at least once or twice every year. Each visit only deepens our affection for this exceptional Vancouver gem. From the moment you step through its doors, the service is outstanding. The staff—including David (hotel manager), Stanislav (assistant manager), Marie (reservation manager), front end staff, Samual, Caroline, Eileen, and Shane, among others—are not only professional but genuinely warm and incredibly attentive. They anticipate needs, remember small details, and always offer a friendly greeting, making guests feel truly cared for. This exceptional dedication is a testament to the leadership of VP Ms. Irina Gerdikov, a remarkable individual whose beauty and kindness radiates from within. ?

Having had the pleasure of staying in all their rooms, we can attest that each one is an absolute haven. They are stylish, supremely comfortable, and impeccably clean, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows that frame fantastic views. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, from the high-quality linens to the luxurious deep soaking tub to warm lighting—creating the perfect ambiance to relax and unwind. ?

As mentioned above, the location is equally ideal. Tucked away on a quiet street in Coal Harbour, it offers a serene, secluded feel, yet remains just a short walk from the city center, and Stanley Park. It truly provides the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat with effortless access to all that Vancouver has to offer. ?

The Loden's overall ambiance is one of luxury and tranquility, warmth and comfort. Its acclaimed restaurant, Tableau Bar Bistro, delivers delicious cuisine within a sophisticated yet relaxed setting. Their room service is impeccable; my husband and I wholeheartedly agree they serve the best burgers we've ever tasted—a significant compliment from a dedicated burger connoisseur. ?

But what truly distinguishes The Loden is its unique character. It successfully avoids the impersonal atmosphere of larger chain hotels, instead offering a meticulously curated and thoughtful experience. These personalized touches, such as a handwritten note from Ms. Irina and the profound feeling of being genuinely cared for by every staff member, sets it apart. The Loden feels like an extension of our home, with its staff, like dear friends/family.

Words can hardly do justice to our admiration for this hotel—our appreciation is boundless. Staying here is more than just a hotel visit; it’s a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. It comes as no surprise that they’ve earned the prestigious Michelin Hotel Key award for two consecutive years. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Five stars, and beyond, beyond!

“Very good service, soft bed, some rooms like mine facing south got alot of street noise so bring ear plugs, free breakfast in non-hotel cafe next door was OK. Four or five choices menu. Be sure the hotel credits the FULL amount of the breakfast charge (they didn't initially on mine until I asked about it)”

“Best place ever. I was hesitant about going there because I thought there would be homeless people around the area. There was none there. I am really happy with the staff. They took care of my car for me as soon as I got there. When I walked in with my girlfriend, all of the staff were all smiles! We got complementary drinks there as well. We stayed for a few nights and at any point that we needed something the staff were there to help. They kept my car in good condition. I did notice that when we left after our stay that the seat settings were changed. It looked like someone took the car for a joy ride. I was not too happy about that but at least they had a fun time”

“Imagine after an 18-hour flight, arriving bleary eyed and tired late in the evening. As we step out of the car, we are greeted by a cheerful doorman who helpfully provided a luggage trolley. Then the receptionist swiftly checked us in, gave us cookies, while providing clear instructions on amenities (he even repeated some instructions twice when he saw our glazed, tired looks). The next day, when I needed change, the receptionist again promptly attended to me. Then there was Haydar, who left us cheerful handwritten notes, chocolates, and extra towels in our room. I accidentally left my laptop unlocked one morning. When I returned, it was untouched. This is a hotel that is truly a home away from home.”

“Manuel was great, my experience absolutely frictionless and the room was cozy, homely and spacious. I chose this hotel because it was centric and affordable, but it was one of the best places I stayed at during my visit.”

“The Columbia hotel is located at 303 Powell Street Columbia it is right in the heart of the downtown Eastside where all drugs are sold in and out of the building and there's nothing being done and they will kick you out when they feel it is right”

“The Empress was a hangout of mine in 2015 on weekends.
Always a lively place, I used to hang out for a bit have pints and play pool.

Someone's always playing cool music there too. Awesome memories in that place.”

“Older hotel that has some good renovations done. It's kept up well but you can tell it's an older building. Rooms are nice. Restaurant is good but I wish that it had better hours, closes early for me. Location is good near the airport but not much nearby, mostly industrial.

Rooms: Rooms are nice. Quiet.

Nearby activities: Not much here.”
