βBest prices in this neighbourhood by far for most produce. Everyone working there is kind and courteous. Lots of people working there, and there is a HUGE selection of fish, meat, and other different flavors around the world. .β
βReasonably priced groceries, good selection, and great deals on produce. I often shop here when I need just a few things and they always seem to offer what I am looking for.β
βLove this store. I worked on a construction site a few years back & got to know the owner because he's a very trustworthy person. The other 'convenience' store is closed - apparently shady & that was my experience with them too.
I hadn't been in the area for a few years and store owner remembered me, wow. I now stop in after attending a dance class on Saturdays at the Collingwood Community Centre. We always have a chat and a 'catch up'. The last couple years I'd had some serious medical issues and he actually cares about his customers & how they are doing. I don't live in this area, I'm over at Fraser & 41st but will always stop in when I'm in the area. Thanks for being a nice guy Tim!β
βAll the staff there are so nice, and we have short conversations every time I goβlike asking how cadets is going or how school is. Itβs definitely one of my favourite stores ever.β
βI didn't go around the whole store but appreciate the underground parking and the fact that they refund your parking fee. The pastry/dessert section has a lot of yummy options.β
βI always have a great shopping experience at No Frills on West Broadway, but what really makes a difference is the amazing staff especially Maria.
She is incredibly kind, patient, and always willing to help with a genuine smile. Every interaction with her has been pleasant, and she truly makes customers feel welcome.
Thank you to the team, and a special thanks to Maria for her outstanding customer service!β
βSeafood section is good, the bakery has ready to eat meals and decent sushi. The pork bowl with marinated egg is a very flavorful option. The taste is pretty good for the price.β
βI've been a customer for around 15 years. City Avenue is the one dependable place that has everything I need and at a fair price.
It's a busy place, and can be very crowded at times, but they are obviously trying to improve their store to better serve their customers.
Their points system is a pleasant reward, and helps pay for all the goodies I like to have around at Christmas time.
I like to be able to support local businesses, and City Avenue's quality and prices keep me coming back.β

βI'm a little late, but I've been coming to this location for a couple weeks since I'm staying at the Sutton hotel. And every time, I had great experience with Barry from produce. He took his time showing me and my wife around the store and finding what we needed and helped carry our basket up the escalator when it wasn't working and for that,we appreciate that's since we are a older couple and can't really carry anything heavy anymore.? Will be back to this location next trip to Vancouver. 10/10 service! Updated April 9. Came back to Vancouver today and had to pop in and say to Barry today. Will be back tonight for produce.
Updated December 10.
I was back in this location last Wednesday needed to grab a few banana and milk, and was kinda shocked that saw two employees in the produce department just straight up arguing in front of others customers, it looked pretty heated. That doesn't look real good for the business just saying, maybe management should keep an eye on that situation. I came in this evening and I haven't seen Barry for a couple weeks now hope he still there.β
βCanadian Grocery store which is multiple location's in Vancouver BC. King Edward location is close from bus stop.
Private brand compliments , seasonal items are available in store.β
βIts a hood corner store on the hastings block , it's usually busy crowded outfront with a big popular vendor street market outfront of the shop ??, they got a ATM ? machine here inside the store , ICE CREAM ,coffee, lots of POP ,soft drinks, bottle water , pies ,cakes ,DESSERTS ? ? ? , not a whole lot of selection of other stuff but lots of dry goods like cereals , microwave food stuff , smoke stuff . This shop is popular with the locals here , ....very handy ATM machine here ....staff are very friendly to me here and the hood folks outfront friendly to me too . ....this hood shop is right next to the historical Pennsylvania hotel at the corner of Carroll and hastings ....parking nearby and bus stop aross the streetβ
βThank you ? for having my Red Bull ?????ββοΈ the regular flavour of the red Bullβ¦. Hopefully ?? you can have the larger Red Bull cans soon, 2 for $10. Would be a great deal I would get them all the time ???ββοΈ??plus I like the new snacks and pies ? you have now canβt wait to try more. The blueberry pie ? was yummy ???? ? ???????β
βBest place for an international student to shop groceries in Vancouver. I do not have to worry about my grocery bill because of this shop. Now they have cleaned the place a lot and it is in a great condition than before.β
βVery friendly and helpful staff throughout the store. Great choices, and lots of clearly marked βmade in Canadaβ choices. This is my new favorite grocery store!β
βNew owners. The store had been fully renovated with a modern vibe.

Review - 9 years ago: This independent food market offers fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and grocery items. There is an Asian influence in the selection for local shoppers but you would be surprised by the number of mainstream items and specialty items they offer. The store is packed full of merchandise, so if you don't see what you require, you need to ask as it may be 'hidden' on the shelves next to other items. Very competitive prices on fresh food. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is free street parking and a few spots at their back door in the alley.β
βItβs a nice little market and itβs close too. It even has some meat like chicken, and ground beefβ¦. Lots of fruits ? ? ? and a wide variety of vegetables ? ?? , and dairy ? ? cerealβs, bread even canned foodβ¦. Itβs a Asian market mostly but itβs been renovated and has lots of other foods nowβ¦. And prices are reasonable. Iβve been going there for about 23 years now. The staff is nice and helpful. I go there a couple times a month. It does close earlier thoughβ¦. By 6 pm itβs closed. But yeah check it out for 20 bucks I can get 2-3 bags of stuff depending what I get. Be back soon ?β

βBeautiful locally made baklava and other sweets such as ice cream. Lots of produce, teas and spices. if you're lucky, you'll see a cat or two lounging about the store.β
βThe store itself is quite small and doesn't contain everything you might need, but there are quite a lot of sales that make this place worth it to shop from.β

βI was looking for the cross street of Mother India yesterday so was on Google to look it up and was very surprised they have such a low rating. Many of my friends and I are loyal customers of this place. We have been here countless times and the owner is nothing but pleasant every single time.In fact, I look forward to shopping here because he is always so genuine, helpful and nice.Everything is stacked neatly so I am shocked to read some of the reviews that it is a messy place to shop at.For many of us, this is the most comprehensive puja shop in Vancouver. Highly recommend it!β

βWhen I want a t&t experience and some baked egg tart. I pick this one because itβs close to me. Nothing has changed since forever. Same olβ same olβ. School cafeteria style Chinese food may have gotten a little better. Prices are just so-so now for Vancouver. Need to body check some seniors out of the way in the produce section but Iβve lived in Asia before so itβs second nature already. Wait I live in Vancouver right?β
βAwesome store and staff, well stocked and maintained. Denin and the crew are friendly, the produce and bakery are super-fresh. Thank you Nestorβs for sticking with the DTES and Gastown!β
βThe hot foods section here is awesome! They have rice during lunch, and even allow customers to bring one's own container to pack food: you can see the barcode sticker in this picture. Their fresh produce and bakery items are of high quality and variety. There is also a reduced-to-clear section, typically on a multi-deck tray outsideβ

βI have never ever eaten such a scone SO Delicious ? it is moist, light, soft, not crumbly, and the flavourful taste makes my pallet and taste buds very happy. My new β must have β food. The cheese&onion scone is savoury; the mixed fruit scone is overloaded with fruit blueberry and strawberry, a dessert delight Yums !! All the bakery staff are so pleasant, nice and helpful on all my visitsβ¦( &my first time in esp.Dipan ) Thank you.β
βThe checkout lane seemed closed. As I walked by the cashier, Venkat said no problem, we can take you. He was very polite, professional and very customer service oriented. A very memorable experience and I will be back.β
βLa Winβs taiwanese beef noodles is one of the best beef noodles in town. The broth, noodles, and beef are perfect. Decent price and the environment is clean. Our go-to place!!β
