“I honestly don’t know if I have the right words to express how grateful I am for the kindness and care I received at Kal Tire in Langford.
I brought in a 2011 Ford Escape that I recently purchased after it had been sitting for almost two years. I’m currently going through a very difficult transition in my life, and one of my biggest priorities right now is simply making sure I have a safe, reliable vehicle for myself and my children.
I explained a little of my situation to Jamie, and what happened afterward genuinely moved me.
They gave my vehicle an incredibly thorough inspection, took the time to explain what needed attention, and offered me a very generous discount. But there was something Jamie told me afterward that brought me to tears.
He told me that the mechanic who inspected my vehicle had felt a personal connection to my situation because he had lived through something similar as a child. I don’t know his name, and I don’t want to share anything about his personal story, but knowing that someone took extra care with my vehicle because, in some way, he understood what my children and I are going through touched me more deeply than I can express.
And the kindness didn’t stop there.
For work they couldn’t do themselves, Jamie personally took the time to call another shop, explain my situation, and connect me with someone who would also try to make the necessary repairs as affordable as possible.
I walked out of Kal Tire crying — not because of the vehicle, but because I felt cared for.
In a moment of my life when I am carrying a lot and trying to rebuild stability for my children and myself, these people made me feel like we mattered. Our safety mattered. And they reminded me that sometimes people take the difficult things they have lived through and turn them into compassion for someone else.
To Jamie, to the mechanic who worked on my Escape, and to the team at Kal Tire Langford: thank you. Truly.
You didn’t just inspect my vehicle today. You made a mom going through a very difficult chapter feel a little safer, a little less alone, and very deeply cared for.
