“Secured these books with great deals on my first visit! The place is a bit cramped, but really organized and well-maintained. I will definitely be back next time.”
“Lovely shop. We were going to pass by but my daughter insisted on going in. It had lots of awesome options for our long train ride home. If I had more time I would have browsed longer but we quickly found a few things to entertain on the trip home! I loved how curated everything was but there was still a lot to look through. The staff were really nice too.”
“I love the variety and selection at this bookstore. Truly unique finds and you can certainly feel all the care put into curating it. The books they have make me feel happy and hopeful, they represent the beauty of our diverse world. The staff are really sweet and my entire day was made when the loveliest person at the checkout complimented my book choices :’) Can’t wait to go back again soon!”
“Dalyce runs a wonderful shop and has thoughtfully curated a space filled with new and second hand book. Anyone walking in will find something to their liking in her shop.”

“I came in with my 4 year old on the first day of federal tax break. The store was sooo busy, but there were enough staff to assist everyone. I got to ask my questions and directed to the right section of the store. We found what we needed, and more ?. The cashier was quick, washroom is amazingly clean, and the shelves are well organized. Price is about the same as other book stores. I came especially to Kidsbooks for the books for kids. They are the only one that has an extensive selection of kids books, hence the name Kidsbooks.”
“I came across this store just walking by today. I bought some cool greeting cards and a rad pin. There’s gifts galore. Snacks. Clothing. Wow. Absolute gem on the east side.”
“With gift giving season near skip Indigo and head to this small but easy to get to book store one block west of Cambie St Skytrain station. They have an up to date new book section, plus for those that love mysteries a large section. Great cards for all occasions to go along with that gift book. Also they do a ten book purchase card, concept similar to coffee shop ones. Plenty of helpful staff with smiling faces.”
“Bought the "History of the Old Testament" (Schedl) from them recently. I do not think I have seen better packaging and delivery. They wrote me a personal note. The books were wrapped and stamped, the box was packaged excellently to prevent damage during transport. If I ever get a chance to visit Vancouver, I'm stopping at this bookstore.
Thank you for providing the Truth to countless people, and doing it with excellence. By His grace and for His glory.”

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kids Books, a charming store located in Edgemont Village, and I must say, it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the area. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with the delightful sights and sounds of children’s literature.
One of the standout features of Kids Books is their incredible selection of Jellycat products. They truly have the best Jellycat collection, offering a variety of adorable stuffed animals that are perfect for kids of all ages. What impresses me even more is that they often have items in stock that are hard to find elsewhere, making it a go-to destination for anyone looking for those beloved plush toys. The soft textures and whimsical designs of Jellycat toys bring joy to both children and adults alike, and it’s hard to leave the store without picking up one of these delightful companions.
In addition to their Jellycat selection, Kids Books boasts an impressive range of holiday-themed books. Whether you’re looking for festive stories to read during the winter holidays or engaging tales for other celebrations throughout the year, this store has something for every occasion. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about children’s literature, and they are always happy to recommend titles that will spark a child’s imagination and love for reading.
Moreover, the store features a wide variety of books for kids and teens, catering to different interests and reading levels. From picture books to young adult novels, the selection is thoughtfully curated, ensuring that every visitor can find something that piques their curiosity. The cozy layout of the store invites you to browse, and I often find myself losing track of time as I explore the shelves filled with captivating stories.
Overall, Kids Books in Edgemont Village is a true gem. With its fantastic Jellycat selection, extensive range of holiday books, and thoughtful assortment of children’s and teen literature, it’s a delightful place for families and book lovers. I always leave feeling inspired and excited about the world of reading, making it a must-visit store in the village. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend stopping by to experience the magic for yourself!”
“My wife and I recently visited Commercial Drive and found this hidden gem of bookstore. And being an established author and member of The Writers Union of Canada, I known books. The store holds a voluminous selection of everything, in particular Canadiana. I found The Mountain Shadow by Gregory David Roberts, sequel to Shantaram. The staff was cheery and delightful. I highly recommend taking an hour to peruse the stores offerings and enjoy the vibe. (The last photo is me.)”
“John and his wife provide a much needed service to the Kerrisdale neighbourhood in proving a full service magazine and newspaper shop together with lottery and some snacks...seven days a week!! I cannot recall a day that they have not been open. They are totally dedicated to their many long term customers. It's wonderful to have such a commitment to the community.”
“The bookstore I wish existed when I was a kid <3 if you're looking for resources on mental health, disabilities or even just inclusive books for kids or adults, this is the place! They have a wonderful selection of books, tools, workbooks and fidgets.”
“I've been here many times to buy books. The owner is very friendly and knowledge about the products that she carries. Definitely recommend this place for parents and students!”
“Great selection of books and decorations for a good price. I loved strolling around looking at everything. Also their clothes were a reasonable price, would have bought some, but they I didn’t like the colors available for the pants I wanted. I give only 4 stars though as the girl at the cashier was absolutely unfriendly, it felt like she thought she was something better than I am, really weird vibe. I would still go there again though and hope for a friendlier cashier next time.”
“A wonderful gem of a bookstore, the owner was friendly and helpful, the selection small but well curated, and the atmosphere was very inviting, I will definitely stop by here anytime I am in the area!”
“A wonderful collection of books, found exactly what I was looking for. I did not however linger as I was hoping to (Sunday afternoon. ) The music screaming from the computer was far from pleasant and not at all in keeping with what I would consider the calm of a book store. Music chosen solely for the enjoyment of the one employee.”
“Great little shop where you can get lots of art, puzzles, nick nacks and stuff by local artist Charles Van Sandwyck! They also custom order books for you and have a lovely selection of socks.”

“This is a very unique bookstore store. I deeply appreciate the commitment of the owner and staff to keeping books as treasures of knowledge and wisdom, not mere commodities. True, it's a bit overwhelming in there, but it's rather well organized. I come here when I need to read deeply about a topic - not just stuff from the current New York Times bestsellers list. The owner's suggestions and stories never fail to improve my grasp of whatever topic I am looking into, and the staff members are also committed to helping customers find what they need. Thank you.”
“They have fast service, decently-priced merchandise, and quality textbooks!I'd recommend ordering online and either having the package shipped to your house or picked up at the bookstore because the lineups in the first week(s) of class can be quite long. However, if you want to shop in-store, it would be best to go as early as possible (just as they open up) or a bit later in the afternoon.”
“Strictly rating in terms of being a university bookstore, I think this place is quite good. Variety of merchandise, useful accessories and tech and of course books.”
“Indigo on Granville Street at Broadway is consistently excellent. It's a great place to browse and unwind from this city.
The staff are all wonderful and extremely professional and genuinely friendly. It's nice to be able to wander through the various sections and the variety of merchandise is excellent.
Thank you Indigo for providing this special place to avid readers and the casual ones as well.”
“While on vacation in Vancouver I had to check out a bookstore. This one did not disappoint. This is a really neat book store. They have a great selection of both new and used books. They do well curating interesting books. In a unique way I think this bookstore gave me a glimpse of what Vancouver is like.”
“The large, attractive space is well organized. Readers can move easily to sections that offer subjects of interest. Indigo also sells non-book items that are mostly personal care and gift items. My interactions with staff were entirely satisfactory.
Persons with mobility challenges and others will be concerned about the lack of seating in this bookshop. That is obviously by design. The company wants buyers, not browsers.
A comment on Reddit said, "Indigo is slowly but surely turning their stores into lifestyle department stores instead of community hub style bookstores." It isn't easy today for brick-and-mortar retailers to compete with online sellers, so we must accept Indigo's product mix and retailing style.”
