“I joined OT -- and the Albany, CA studio -- in August of 2022. Its the best thing that I've done for myself to improve my health. Since joining, I've completed nearly 200 classes. The coaches are amazing, supportive and consistently upbeat, but not annoyingly so. I wish I had been doing this workout for the past 25 years.”

“I have been to many gyms in my life and have had 3 other personal trainers, and 9Round with Dave and Ovi is hands-down the best I have ever been to! I usually have a hard time motivating myself to go to the gym but I look forward to my 9Round workouts every week. When you enter, everyone greets you warmly. While you work out, trainers and other gym-goers cheer you on and motivate you. When you leave, you're congratulated on a great workout and walk out of the door with a smile on your face. It truly is a wonderful experience from start to finish. Be ready to work, though! 9Round provides a high intensity, full body workout. They also offer body mapping and consultation, which has helped me orient my workout and weight loss goals. Dave also provides me with tons of nutrition tips and challenges that have made a huge difference for me! I truly cannot say enough good things about this gym, so sign up already!”

“If you are one of the many of us, trying to get back into shape after Covid, Truve Fit should be your first stop. A key factor of whether you will stick with an exercise program is the having a frictionless environment.Truve has validated parking at the Hive so you do not have to be driving around in circles trying to figure out where you can park safely and get into the class on time. When you walk in through the front doors, the vibe is very chill so you do not feel anxious walking into class. Most importantly, the other people working in the gym are extremely supportive and will become your community quickly. Having all these things in place makes a fitness routine so much easier to establish. There are even free community classes if that's how you prefer to give this place a try.The instructors are excellent. Classes are capped at 10 for general fitness classes, and three for Pilates. As a result, their instructors can give you abundant corrections and attention so you avoid injuries and develop great form. If you are worried that you don't know how to use a Pilates Reformer, you can hire a private trainer for three classes to learn the ropes like I did.This is the premier gym in Oakland for rehabilitation from injuries. I am a 7 year cancer survivor who has had numerous surgeries. Each time, I've had to fight back to regain my health, strength and flexibility. My last surgery was major, set me back the farthest, and happened during the height of the pandemic; recovery felt close to impossible until I walked through these doors.Not only have I converted fat into muscle, lost weight, gotten so much stronger and gained so much range of motion over 5 months, but I can keep trying new things like TRX Bootcamp that turned out to be fun. Truve's got a wide range of things you can try to keep from being bored.Also, you can go buy fresh baked bread and pastries at Firebrand Artisan Bakery next store or empanadas at Javi's Empanadas caddy corner after you finish your workout. Truve's location is fabulous.”

“I’m SO happy I joined this gym! Even more happy with my results training with Zach!After going to Fitness SF Castro for 5+ years, I finally got fed up with it basically being a kink bathhouse. I want to workout with other fitness people, who are there to improve their health and physique. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Live Fit Castro.The equipment is all new! I really wish they remodeled the downstairs, moved the locker rooms down, so we had more training space upstairs, but nonetheless it is better than the previous 24 Hour Fitness.For the most part, it’s lightly used still! So no waiting or crowds etc.I train with Zach Bond. I’ve had 5+ trainers in my life, he is without a doubt my favorite I’ve ever had not to mention I’ve never seen results like this before! I’ve gained 12 pounds in two months! Muscle of course! I’m so motivated again and on days I’m working out with him I’m even excited!My only recommendations would be turn down the music please! It’s blasting in some areas, most people want to listen to their own music, but it’s so loud that you can hear it through noise canceling headphones. I also hate the booty building machine, it’s so awkward compared to all the others I’ve used.The staff are all so wonderful! They always greet you with a smile and even remember your name!I’ve also worked out at Live Fit Valencia, Cole Valley, and Fairmont. Fairmont is great because it has a steam room and sauna.”

“Love this orange theory location! The coaches are amazing!! Especially Molly and Cheyenne! As someone that didn’t previously enjoy working out and wouldn’t do any program/workout more than 3 weeks, orange theory has really changed that for me! I look forward to coming in and having an amazing workout! Molly and Cheyenne make the workout so fun while also pushing me to my best in a kind manner. I also appreciate that they assist me in my form and will correct anything that make not be right.I believe due to covid, class times have changed. So the only suggestion or request I would have is for later class times on the weekend (such as 11-1) and weekdays. As a nurse, I work until 7:30 pm and my co-workers have expressed interest in attending classes with me but were unable to as the last class is at 6:30 pm.Couldn’t recommend this location and it’s staff more! Everyone is so kind and sweet!”

“I had moved to a new neighborhood in San Francisco, and I had been feeling that my workout routine had plateaued. I usually had tried to work out with runs, functional strength training, and ad-hoc Fitness+ workouts.I just felt like I was no longer progressing.I found Tribe through their 6 week challenge, and was able go from 17% Body Fat to 15% body fat while increasing muscle mass. It was great to see that with less amount of total exercise time, with more intensity, as well as focus on lower body, upper body, and functional workouts, that I was seeing more progress. I highly recommend classes with Billy. He's definitely my favorite trainer, and is always focused on pushing you in every class, as well as ensuring proper form.I recently ran the Golden Gate Half Marathon and broke a personal record on miles per minute (8 minute mile). I was impressed to see that strength and conditioning workouts that Tribe was providing was helping me with my running more than running more would have.”

“WOW!!! We were in for a sweaty treat. Charise, the owner and trainer was super nice and welcoming. It was my partner and I's very first time at 9Round and it did not disappoint. She was very patient and took the time to go over all the stations with us while still balancing time to work with the other more experienced clients. She cheered for us and motivated us the whole way through. Definitely coming back!”

“Joe and his team at Pinole X-Fit run a REALLY AWESOME operation. We've worked with them both for gym AND ninja kids parties. BOTH are run with kindness and efficiency, heart and soul. As a customer of the gym "in the old days" I'm confident in saying our local Pinole bootcamp training spot is Better Than Ever! It's an excellent local family business borh as a gym and for special events. “I’ve always struggled to make the best use of a gym membership and stay motivated… given that, I can confidently say this is the best gym I’ve ever signed up for. Classes are small and there’s a friendly and communal feel with people who want to see both themselves and others grow and succeed. I’m definitely at a beginner level when it comes to this kind of training but it hasn’t felt like an impediment. Fabien is a phenomenal and kind instructor, he gives solid individual guidance (classes are small enough for that) as well as encouragement and correction when I’m struggling with form, and he can clearly identify which parts of my body need extra strengthening. He checks in on me in between classes giving tips for at home exercises, stretches and nutrition as he sees health holistically in terms of body, mind and spirit. If you’re looking for a personal trainer he does that too and no doubt he’s a great one. Overall Ownitrx is just a really encouraging atmosphere for getting healthy and I’m so glad I joined. I feel great after every class. If you’re on the fence, don’t wait, or at least come do some trial classes and see what I mean!”

“It’s hard to find the proper words to describe something that is both so genuine and empowering, and simultaneously challenging. In my earlier days, I used to run marathons and row on my college team. Despite that background, I’ve never felt stronger from running and rowing than I do presently. This is 1000% contributed to the magic that is Orangetheory. Learning how to continuously work out according to my heart rate, and doing a variety of endurance, power, and strength training is what keeps me going back every morning. Additionally, the energy and joy that Courtney greets you with when you walk through the door is akin to seeing your best friend every morning. And last, but not in the very least - Coach Jordan is someone that inspires all his members to not only “empty the tank” each session during which time something magical happens, but his carefully orchestrated playlists make you want to dance the whole time in addition to working out!”

“I love Orangetheory Fitness so much that I was beyond sad I couldn't go especially after moving up from SoCal to NoCal during the pandemic. Imagine my thrill to find out that my new house was just a few blocks away from the Shattuck Orangetheory Fitness. The staff are awesome, especially the manager, Van, who goes above and beyond for the members and crew. I love the coaches, especially Noah, as well as the front desk crew. Everyone takes time to learn our names and say hello and goodbye as we come and go. The location is great and the workouts are always amazing in true OTF fashion. “Love this gym! Sachiko and Jenny are great trainers.Sachiko’s past and present experiences have given her the amazing ability to personalize her training sessions to meet her clients needs. From senior citizens (me) with scoliosis to the young athletes. She is well organized and fun to work with. I credit my improved physical abilities to Sachiko and RGym. The Gym is kept very clean, the equipment is well serviced, there is ADA access and the ENTIRE staff is just great!”

“Here the thing, my ex-wife trains with Nick Fontaine, and Josilyn I hear they are great kids, im in oregon so i get photo and ill say this, the change is nothing short of incredible, my ex looks (i dont want to say beautiful) as pretty as the first day we met, so i started to do the 3 day introduction, and i didn't lose weight but i think I losed 3 or 4 inches around my waist, i cant believe it, those kids know what there doing.”

“This place is EVERYTHING. I started coming to Body Mechanix in Feb 2022 with the intention of shedding a few lbs before my wedding in August and became addicted. My goals have changed -- instead of just looking good, I go to BM to feel good, to challenge my mind and body and to build community. I am genuinely happier and more fulfilled since becoming a member.Body Mechanix offers group classes every morning and a 6pm and 7pm class in the evenings. You can also sign up for open gym during the day. The classes vary between trainers and conditioning and strength focuses but ALWAYS leave you feeling satisfied and challenged. The trainers provide variations and encourage you to challenge yourself. When I first started coming to Body Mechanix I had never lifted a bar bell, I now know the safe mechanics of lifting and performing other exercises.Body Mechanix is all about community, the trainers and the BM team plans events, outings, parties, challenges, and celebrations for the members. The trainers care about the members and their clients and the memebers are all so friendly! I saw my confidence and overall fitness soar over just five months of regular attendance. Kudos to the Flagship team for building such a fun, friendly, and inclusive space (their claim about having the friendliest coaches is true).It's also true that it's the most expensive fitness membership I've ever held, and Flagship's excellent coaches — Jon, Zach, Nikki, and Anaïs — and flexible memberships team have made it an *investment* worth every penny for me. Facilities are clean and well-maintained; personalized attention and safety has been central to every class I've attended.Dog-lovers would be well-advised to take Zach's morning classes, who also has impeccable class music selections :)”

“This place is a treasure. I'm not a gym girl typically but it feels like I'm in my happy place when I go there. It's always nice and clean, the staff are exceptionally friendly. They have a very well stocked gym, group fitness sessions, 1-1 training and my favorite - recovery (yoga) on Tuesdays and Thursdays to unwind. It's low-key, friendly, not at all competitive. It's a safe haven.”
