“Always fast and efficient. Just don't be that jerk who shows up 5 min before closing with an armful of packages. No lines in the middle of the day. They're occasionally understaffed but that's not their fault. USPS is such a valuable service!”

“The owner, Z, is incredibly nice and very knowledgeable. I’ve used their Live Scan fingerprinting service, and the whole process was smooth and convenient.

One of the best things about this location is that you can drop off USPS, UPS, and FedEx packages all in one place. It saves so much time not having to go to multiple locations. While I haven’t personally used their other services, I believe they also offer document printing and passport photos.

Overall, excellent customer service. Highly recommend!”

“I shouldn't be so cheap and unappreciative I got the coolest carnival celebration stamps with fireworks on them. I never have to wait long at this post office and it's right next to the Ashy BART station! The exterior is kind of unusual which is probably why it's getting 3 stars on average. It's a good post office. Don't listen to the other reviews.

Even the downtown Oakland Post Office has run out of money order forms, on occasion. They're not a bank cheapskate, they shouldn't be required to handle large sums. I've seen some people get money orders for thousands at some Post Offices. It's old school *not* dingy.”

“An amazing USPS branch! The staff works like gods! They are open on Saturdays and treat customers with great respect. This place deserves 5 stars. A truly authentic American spot! This is a very authentic place, and the employee at the mail counter is wonderful—it's just like a museum! ?”

“I needed to get my fingerprints taken and the post office machines routinely fail to get good readings from my fingers. Fortunately, the man who assisted me at this location was incredibly helpful and made every effort to prepare my fingers for a good reading. A stressful experience turned into no big deal. Thank you!”

“For starters some individuals should honestly keep their prissy, bigotry, and zealous “Opinions” to themselves. 1st. Everyone knows Postal workers are dedicated Govt. employees that connect us all to and from people and parcels. 2nd. Awareness of your surroundings? You are downtown at Civic Center (one of the largest transit terminals in the Bay Area), and complaining that you’re 14th in-line @ 4:00pm on a “FRIDAY” with 1 worker present. Screams ignorance, and lacking a key virtue Patience… Post St opens till 6pm + China Town are also
open on Saturdays for convenience. I’m here weekly, random time and day, the office is perfectly fine, the surrounding (Fox plaza owned) building is aged. The staff takes care of all customers in the lobby even being the 20th in line. They’re customer service driven all the while being helpful and friendly.”

“I’ve been coming to this post office for two decades. Always friendly, helpful and to the point. Happy to see my federal tax dollars going to something truly useful.”

“I remember watching this place get raid d back in the 2010s.All the FBI OPERATIVES were long haired hippie looking dudes jacked like Thor. This place is possibly still.infiltrated with feds that look like bums.Too bad THAT the more you smoke, the lower your IQ.They make this stuff in labs that 10x the potency of that THC.”

“I feel lucky to have a post office that’s close by. It’s never too busy and the staff are pretty nice. Sure there could be one grumpy worker every once in awhile but who doesn’t have a bad day. I go often to mail boxes and most of the time it’s a solid experience. I always feel confident my mail and boxes are delivered on time which isn’t the case at some postal offices.”

“Ms. Avery, and the other young lady who were working, do an outstanding job of taking care of customers!

Very professional, polite, and attentive to customers needs! The ladies need to be commended for a job well done!”

“I have to say that my experiences at other USPS, like Martinez (on Alhambre... very rude and unprofessional employees), and El Cerrito (also very rude and unprofessional employees), make me appreciate my home USPS in Hercules. The staff are very cordial, customer service oriented, and do not complain or argue with customers needing a little extra time due to multiple mail items. I will choose the Hercules post office over any I've visited lately.

It takes less time to assist a customer than it takes to argue with a customer, delaying other customers' services.”

“My passport expired and was lost in my move from HI to SF. And I'm lazy and need my hand held. I made an appointment online for all the things- passport, picture, etc. When I arrived there was a bunch of people waiting in line for shipping packages. Once I got to the front, the super kind lady brought me through the side door to take my picture. She took a few snaps, asked me which one was best? I told her they all look the same. She went over my paperwork, had me make a few changes, additions, photocopied all the things (extra charge) and with the swipe of my debit card for $184.55, I was on my way. My passport arrived two weeks later. . . before my birth certificate. It was the most painless process ever and worth every penny. Here's the breakdown of pricing- USPS Passport Fee- $35 Photo Service- $15 Money Order- $130 Money Order Fee- $2.55 Copy Machine- $2”

She was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful truly going above and beyond.

“I go here all the time and the staff is always courteous and efficient. There's usually a pretty good sized line, but they keep people moving and overall I would say they do a good job.”

“Warning you will need to go through security on the south side (if you come from the north, they’ll make you walk around outside). It’s located in the basement. Another warning is that there is no signal (or Wi-Fi) bc it’s in the basement, so if you need a QR code, take a screenshot of it beforehand.Celipe (I may have gotten the name kind of wrong, but he’s an older gentleman), was very friendly and helpful. There was no wait either! I was in and out in minutes!”

“While this post office is somewhat hard to find (next to Alley &Vine) once I was able to do so I was greeted by a very friendly US post office person. Miranda was super knowledgeable, friendly, and made my eBay return a breeze. I highly recommend this location.”

“Generally a very good post office that takes care of lines quickly (mostly because we gays are always on the go and know what we want) and there is a lot of self-service supplies available as opposed to some city post offices where almost everything is locked up or depleted.

My only complaint is the lack of empathy for older clientele who struggle with computers. My client wanted to renew his PO Box and pay for another 6 months and the lady at the counter just kept repeating "ITS PAID TIL SEPTEMBER! GO TO THE WEBSITE!" Well, that's only 2 months away and the rate is $108/6 mo. Why can't we pay for his extension now? And I said probably three times that he gets frustrated using their website. He has renewed this way dozens of times including a few months ago. She could've made our lives a lot easier by processing a basic renewal.”

“Came here to leave a rating just because the lady behind the counter this afternoon was the sweetest USPS employee I’ve ever met. Transaction was smooth and fast too!”

“Awesome; there was only one person ahead of me in line. I didn't even wait five minutes, and I just handed my mail to the clerk; she was so nice. Not waiting in line for a long period of time was fantastic because I was in a rush to get back home. There was a community wide garage sale in the compound where I live, and I wanted to touch base with some of my neighbors. I purchased some DVDs from the neighbor who lives across from me. I simply like to have the disk just in case some of the movies aren't shown through AT&T ever again.”

“Went there to pay for and mail a letter on a weekday afternoon. It was easy and quick to accomplish even though only 1 or the 7 clerk stations were open. It only took 7 minutes.”

“I’ve had great luck at this spot. Excellent customer service etc. I regularly drop off packages here without a hitch. Gary is especially concerned with doing things correctly, an asset to the postal service.”

“It’s a great-looking post office, clearly meant for sending and receiving packages to and from Italy exclusively. In that spirit, it serves as a kind of Italian embassy — offering goodwill through the occasional spaghetti and meatball handout. It’s strewn with Godfather posters and, of course, accepts cannoli as payment.

When Silvio passed away, they flew the Italian flag at half-staff.”

“Cute lil post office with friendly staff. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Bonus points: It's close to Starbucks and Fort Mason if you want to grab a coffee or walk around.”

“Thank you David for having a smooth transaction with you. I ask an envelope and without hesitation you gave me one and you explained the normal envelope and the priority one. You're kind to me and you have patience of answering all my questions.

Thank you for helping me.”

“I love this post office. The sistah that works in the far corner is so incredibly helpful and proficient at her job. She is so on it, that I usually leave feeling better than I walked in because she makes the experience so pleasant and clear. If it weren't for parking I would use this post office exclusively. I will say that the USPS should update the equipment. Some of the machines seem like they haven't been updated since before Regan was president.”
