“This is my childhood local bookstore that I have been visiting since I was 7 years old. It truly is a gem. It has undergone various changes in the last few years, but thankfully it's still charming. Despite moving out of San Clemente, I always make it a point to take my friends to Beach Town Books whenever I'm in town. It has pleasant vintage vibes and is such a cozy spot. There are many wooden shelves lined with new and used books; the used books are decently priced, the newer books tend to be pricey. Towards the front of the shop, you will find the new releases, while the older books are in the back. At the back of the book store, you will find cozy, vintage furniture for lounging and reading. As well, the back of the store has a variety of books that are new, used, old or relatively new, ranging from cookbooks to novels to history books. Their selection of reading material will keep you occupied for several hours. I've found many music books (I.e. guitar/piano fundamentals, Disney songbooks, indie artist songbooks, classical works, beginning piano books, and more). Beach Town Books is basically a house turned bookstore. The previous owner had a cat that would linger around the store and hang out, which I miss. I don't think they have a cat there anymore however, there was an owner churn at some point. Despite the turnover of command, I am happy to see that Beach Town Books is still thriving and glowing like it was before. It is a must to check out while you are touring San Clemente. It is conveniently located within walking distance from Del Mar.”

“What a beautiful store. My husband and I finally had a chance to visit and brought our small child with us. They have such a wonderful selection of items. I wish I would have asked what the name of the person who was helping us as she was so kind, loving, and accepting of our child and us. Such a peaceful place. We will definitely be back when we can. It is so nice to know that there is such a wonderful place like this in South Orange County.”

“Laguna Beach books is such an awesome bookstore just down the street from the beach! The store looks small from the outside but they had a great selection and the inside is bigger than expected. Their team was super kind and helpful, giving me lots of book recommendations. I highly recommend this store.”

If you know your author(s), you'll easily find the book your looking for and probably a few more. The prices are very reasonable. I picked up 4 like-new paperbacks for under $5.”

They just reopened and I was happy to find all of the trilogy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for only $4 total (one of which being a hardback cover). Lots of books in good quality at a low price! I can’t imagine how much it would have been to buy them new at a retailer.”

“I'm graduated now but when I came here for books and supplies I've never had a problem. They are pricey but I've never had to buy books since I was an EOPS student and also received the Pell grant to help me. I also received a $250 voucher for school supplies after I graduated to take with me to university. The supplies were high quality and so were the backpacks. They also carry headphones, chargers, and snacks just in case you need these things. Overall I've had a positive experience. However, as expected during the first week it's super busy so expect long wait times to get books and supplies and during the last week because people return books and purchase finals materials.”

“Double decker store ? they had a FEW dark romance, maybe they were mixed in.... the YA was mixed around and the store on tables and missing from shelves so its like an Easter egg hunt, fantasy section was small, missing alot of good hardcovers. And alot of them were placed in wierd locations that were inconvenient and didn't make sence.”

There are pockets of comfy chairs for you to seat. Great variety of media, toys, CD, and DVD. You can finally browse magazine again. One less star due to lack of restrooms for customers to use.”
