“The rooms were good, cute surfer theme. Service was excellent. The fridge was leaking in our room. WhenI tild the front desk, they were extreemly nice and asked if I wanted to move rooms or wait for the engineer to fix or replace the fridge. I told them I was fine with either, it was the week of Thanksgiving and I knew they were going to be busy. They ended up moving us across the hall so we wouldn'thave to drag out stuff all over the hotel. Our new room had a better view! The gym seems excellent! We didn't have time to use it this trip, but we will plan on using it in the future. The whole week staff was very nice. This was the perfect location for us, near family and easy access to the freeway. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the area.”

“The location of the hotel is fantastic, right in the heart of San Clemente and walking distance to the beach. The Nomads Canteen is above the hotel and offers a nice beer menu, full bar and tasty, fresh food. The vibe in the bar is great and there is a large outdoor patio with a fire pit.

The room we had was big, with 3 beds (2 queen, 1 double), a small kitchen area with a good size fridge and a microwave, and a large shower.

They also offer a surf camp, which we might have taken advantage of if we’d had more time in the area.

The canteen is quite loud until 11pm, with music and chairs scraping. There are ear plugs and a white noise machine in the room, which helped a lot. From midnight to morning it’s nice and quiet.

There are 10 parking spots available that are shared with the canteen, so you need to get there before evening to beat the bar crowd.

Overall, it’s a great location and nice, funky vibe hotel. The staff communicates well, even though it’s a self serve entry.”

“This is a quality hotel that offers great service. The most important quality was customer service at all levels of the organization. This includes the front desk, bellman, valet, room service, security, all servers in each and every restaurant we visited during our stay were great. The food was delicious! This hotel is my favorite and I have travelled a lot in my career. This will be a place I will go to annually.

Rooms: Our view was fantastic. Housekeeping was great.

Nearby activities: The town of Dana Point gives you access to the harbor and unique shopping. You can take a trolley to Laguna Beach and enjoy boutique shops and art galleries.

Walkability: You never have to leave the hotel. Everything is floor away. Excursions to the beach with all the supplies you need. Food and drink are always available.

Food and drinks: All restaurants are five star and the servers are fantastic.

We did communicate this. There was only one particular surprise where one of the desk attendants told us that the lobby closed. We had a long day and brought a pizza back (it was 9:50p.m.) for our leadership team to share and the attendant came and said the lobby closes in 5 minutes and couldn't stay, which we had never heard of before.”

“This hotel is all about location. It's right on the main road through town, and better yet it's right up the hill from the beach.

From your room just walk down the path less than a minute and you're on the beach. They're also nice enough to supply beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards.

And when you're done with the beach, the hotel is placed right on the main drag, walkable to all the shops and restaurants.

The view from the room is amazing, directly looking out over the pacific. Also outside the window was a bush covered in flowers with a family of hummingbirds who were quite entertaining. There was also a small balcony with lounge chairs and an umbrella (if you don't feel like walking down to the beach).

The room was not huge, but the bed was comfortable, and pointed right at the windows so waking up to the sound of the waves and that view was a perfect start to the day.

There were plenty of drawers for storing our belongings which I appreciated. The bathroom was fine, again not huge, and no tub but the shower worked well enough to rinse the beach off.

Finding the hotel and parking was easy (pull into the courtyard and hand the keys to the valet) although not especially cheap ($38 per day) but that's not too far off what you'd pay all day at the meters.

Staff were friendly and nice but nothing over and above. Check-in & out were quick and easy.

The pool was ok, it's in a kind of quirky semi-covered building so there's some shade but not a lot. It's on the street side of the property so no ocean view which would have been nice but oh well.

Honestly the property seemed like it could use a bit more maintenance, but in the end it didn't matter that much. If you're looking for luxury this is maybe not the hotel for you, but the view and location made up for everything else.”

“As a Mariott Titanium - I don't say this lightly. This is one of the best Mariott properties in the country. The service is top notch. Every single staff member is warm, kind, fun and easy going. From the cleaning staff, to the front desk - I felt like I was living among friends for my week there.

Don't be fooled by the "age of the property". The hotel is in excellent condition. Every room smells lovely. Every component of the hotel works as if it is brand new. The pool and hot tub are perfect. The care this hotel has had during its lifespan is notable in its own category.

The food at the bar is excellent. Tons of options. All delicious - great value

The hotel gym is well above average. Weights, treadmill, yoga - you can do it all

Let's talk about location - 15-20 mins to world class surf breaks. 15-20 mins to excellent beaches. Feel like going for a walk- tons of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Some hotels recently have cut corners on cost - cheaping out on pillows, towels, blankets, air conditioning. This property has actually doubled down in the opposite direction- extremely comfortable bedding.

I've stayed at JW Mariotts, Ritz Carltons plenty of times. I would option to stay at this property over others simply because of how exceptional it was.

“This Hotel might not be 5 star but you will be greeted with a warm smile from all the staff you’ll encounter.
The young ladies at the front desks are friendly, helpful and they go the extra mile.
I was picked up from the airport by the hotel shuttle front desk attendant.
It seems everybody is happy to work there.
The hotel is conveniently located about 8 minutes from the airport.
The rooms are clean,provided with microwave and fridge.
The hotel provides buffet style breakfast from 6:00 am to 9:30 am . I appreciate that provide eggs, potatoes, baked goods and good qualities teas.
There are no convenient stores walking distance.
I was trying to buy some fruits in the evening, the front desk young man told me that supermarkets are a few miles away and I wasn’t going to Uber to get my fruit fix. The young man went to the back and brought me a few fruits.
I congratulate the Human Resources and the managers that trained your staff to be helpful with a great attitude and noticeably happy to work there.
The only suggestion I have for the hotel is if they can provide one or two usb outlets in the room.

“We stay at the Tides Inn every time we come to Laguna Beach. Our room has a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a Kurig coffee maker. Anderson greets you by name and makes you feel like you're coming home!”

“I chose Blue Lantern Inn for my bachelorette weekend in Dana Point and it was absolutely dreamy! I had the pleasure of working with the Group & Special Events Coordinator, Carmen Hoffarth, who created our room block with special accommodations for my friends, which she did without hesitation when I asked (despite it causing more work for her on the back end). My party flew in from out-of-state and they were totally blown away by the views of the harbor, which were spectacular, and the quality of the breakfast and happy hours. The food was much better than you'd get at a typical hotel... homemade and hearty.

We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!”

“Beautiful and nice room we had on 14th floor. Had golf course view and far away pacific ocean view also. Very well equipped room with square rain shower with good drain system. Two queen beds are comfortable with four pillows each and thick soft sheets. Loved Nespresso coffee machine! Made my morning coffee every morning. Interesting thing is 1) when I step in to the bathroom lights are on . It's good on day time, not so good during the night. Overall very nice room with nice view.”

“This is an amazing place to stay. The grounds and villas are beautiful and very comfortable. The staff really makes the stay outstanding. We were there for an extended time this summer and the staff consistently went above and beyond.

There are daily activities for the children, adults, and families.The Cove, the children's center, was manned by some outstanding people. Special thanks to Monica, Mia, Tony, Haley, Leo, Demi, Sarah, Mendy -- all of them were so sweet with the children!

“Where convenience meets comfort ? From offering the Blend Cafe with 24hr coffee/espresso beverages—to already prepped meals + snacks in their grab n’ go section, followed by shuttles that take you to and fro (within 2 miles of hotel) fo’ free, and why (of course) the always gracious and accommodating staff - you literally can’t go wrong ?‍? I’d have to say my fav part of the hotel—besides the staff—was the ability to step outside by the pool and lay back on a lounge chair, or sit on the comfy, ample couch-like seating poolside. They have a jacuzzi too, so why not take a dip on the chilly nights or crisp AMs? They also have fire pits next to the lounge seating.. will have to come back to experience that. On this stay, in particular, I definitely learned one thing ☝️- blue skies equals better vibez. Coming from OH, where skies are oh-so gray often, I see how moods match the weather & attitudes take cues from the brightness of the sun. Well, this time, I’m hoping to travel with a pocket full of sunshine & carry it back with me so others can experience what it’s like when you are met with wonderful weather, stellar service, and moods that match ✌️?”

“This is a wonderful place to stay!! First of all, they have a shuttle that can bring you to and from the airport. When I checked in, the staff was welcoming and helped me with every question I had :) the rooms are very nice, super clean, and the staff was very friendly! At the end of my stay, Robir was there to send me off. I didn’t have time for breakfast (they have an amazing breakfast too) so he kindly got me a banana and coffee. He went above and beyond!”

“My husband and I stayed at the Laguna Beach House for two nights & our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer! We had the absolute best time hanging out around the pool/fire pit, relaxing in our room and hanging in the lobby space. We were blown away by the hospitality-- from the kind welcome to the fresh cookies they served guests in the evening. We loved how we were just a short walk away from the beach, shops, and restaurants! We will absolutely be back!!”

worked. The refrigerator and freezer worked . The coffee maker worked and had plenty of coffee and condiments. The staff was friendly, caring and they made you feel special. I will definitely go there again.

“My daughter just returned from spending one week at this Holiday Inn while competing for Junior Nationals. The hotel also catered food for the team. She was so impressed by the attentiveness of the staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the food service. The kitchen staff adapted the menu based on what they observed the team eating, such as not mixing the fruit since the kids were separating the fruit as they served themselves. She also said the food was delicious, especially the breakfast!”

“Great stay and great view. Carlos was great making reservations and helping with check in. Can't beat location and price with the awesome ocean view on the balcony. The only thing I would say, which wasn't a big deal was there is no clock in the room and the trash cans are very small. One in bathroom and one in living room. I would definitely stay again.”
