“During my stay at this hotel I was assisted by Vergial, Portia, Nick, and Favian. They were all INCREDIBLE at their jobs and deserve recognize for wonderful customer service. This hotel is very pet friendly, there was a dog at every corner which was super welcoming. My room was clean and nice, breakfast is offered for a small fee, and its only 22 minutes from the beach!”

Excellent service from Johnny at The Loft restaurant for the morning shift, Kody working the Lobby Lounge at night and Kayvon during the day…. “This is a Ritz Carlton experience like no other. You get the standard a excellent service, if course: the over the top follow up, the constant recognition of you as a guest, the turndown service, the excellent food, etc. But above all that, this is possibly a top 10 location for a resort hotel anywhere in the world.
By the way, another item. These are the most comfortable beds I've experienced at any of the Ritz Carlton's I've stayed at.”

“Very nice large room with high ceilings and fireplace. Comfortable bed, not to firm and soft linens. Basic shower head but decent sized shower with good water pressure and hot water. Excellent attention to detail throughout. Welcoming staff from the second you arrive. I do prefer walking to the main lobby which I did during my stay, but golf carts are available if your room is far or you just prefer door to door service.”

“We just returned from vacation here and absolutely loved our stay! Our room was stunning, the views were beautiful, and the staff was exceptionally nice and so helpful! Our room was spotless, the room service and hospitality were top notch! This ranks #1 of all our vacation stays! I highly recommend it, and the restaurants are wonderful too (try the Monarch Beach Bay Club for lunch or dinner). We also loved the pools, so tranquil! Our kids loved it! “When we arrived, check in was quick and easy. The customer service was friendly, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcome.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and the beds made it easy to get a great night’s sleep. There was a slight “old smoker” smell when we first walked in, but once we turned on the air conditioner it quickly disappeared. After we got settled, we honestly didn’t notice it again.
Although we didn’t get to use the pool because we were in town for a tournament and forgot our swimsuits, the pool and patio area looked inviting and well maintained.
I did use the fitness center, and I was genuinely impressed. It’s one of the first hotel gyms I’ve visited that had everything needed for a solid workout without making me want to find a local gym. It was small but thoughtfully equipped, exceptionally clean, organized, and all of the equipment was in great condition.
Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. Instead of just the typical hotel buffet, they had a staff member at the breakfast station preparing and serving the hot foods and , which was a really nice touch and made the breakfast feel a bit more special and more hygienic.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely look for this hotel chain again the next time we travel.”
“We had a little staycation here celebrating our anniversary and we will make it an annual visit. From the front office person Christian to the bell hop , everyone here is so nice and friendly.
The view from the room was perfect with 180 degree ocean view. Two fun hanging chairs on the patio that we enjoyed both morning and evening. The room amenities were a bonus with an extra comfortable king bed and soft linens, the relaxing music, aroma diffuser, and lavender pillow spray were great additions. The toiletries were also nice sized and beautifully scented. A short walk to main beach restaurants made this the perfect location. We will be back next year.”

“I was there here this past weekend. The lady that checked me in and the guy that checked me out had to be some of the friendliest people that I've ever experienced working at a hotel. The room had everything I needed and just a little more. The location is pretty good but it's not directly on the beach. We ended up booking another hotel that's directly on the beach and the boys stayed here over night and me and the miss stayed at the hotel directly on the beach”
“WOW! I stay 80-90 nights a year all over the country, and short of being a beach from hotel, this was the best property I've stayed at. The room was big and beautiful. The bathroom was very oversized and plenty large. The beds were very comfortable. Once you were in the room, you rarely heard any doors slam or people talking around you. That is not usually the norm. Most hotels you can hear every single door closing on several floors - not here. The outdoor area was remarkable. A putting green, table tennis, cornhole, a heated LARGE outdoor pool, and a very spacious hot tub. There are plenty of tables and chairs available. Pool towels and lounge chair towels are provided.
I did not eat in the Bistro. As others have stated, parking is very high at $25 per night.
I hope to stay here again sometime again, even if I have to drive out of my way.”

“Searched for an affordable hotel near the beach for weeks and finally found Blue Lantern. What's a wonderful Inn!
The service was amazing. They provided beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. It was a less than 10 minute drive to multiple beaches. Views were perfect. Lots of restaurants to choose from near by.
Rooms and bathrooms were large.
Manager's reception and breakfast included. Wish we stayed longer!”

“My friend and I stayed in California for our first time ever, and we found this great hotel for a great price. We had a 3-5 minute walk to the beach, and 5 minute walk to the Bay Point View. We felt super safe in the area, including during the night. Front desk was super kind and informative about staying in Laguna Beach, and explained the free trolley system. We had a car but regardless it was nice to know for future trips. Will be returning for sure.”

People at the front desk are super kind as are all staff members. The rooms are spacious and very nice. They have wet bar, refrigerator and living room in the room. They have a sweet ocean view from balconies in the third floor. Location is great.

“Good breakfast buffet, small gym and nice pool and hot tub. Big room, but the TV didn't work (and even if had Hilton still doesn't have Chromecast), bathroom ceiling somehow had a lots of hairs on it, the shower leaked constantly wasting water, and the tub didn't drain so I was standing in a half foot of water when showering. Ample parking with reasonable rates. Friendly staff.”

“The location is great and the decks that view the ocean are wonderful. However, the room was barren and bleak. Old furniture scratched up desk, really small dresser. For the size of the room, one small painting on the wall it was like an echo chamber. There were dorito chips under the footstool. There was some weird stain at the foot of the bed that looked like dried up salsa , at least I hope it was dried up salsa.”

“Writing this review is long overdue, but I cannot recommend Kids World at Renaissance ClubSport enough! It has truly become our second family. The fact that the staff knows every single child and parent by name is amazing and creates such a welcoming environment. My son did the Leaping Learners program last year and thrived. He learned his colors, how to count, how to color, and how to write his letters. Beyond academics, he made close, wonderful friends in the class. The teachers are absolutely amazing, patient, and caring. The seasonal camps have been an absolute blessing. They offer unique, hands-on experiences that my son still talks about. He was able to pet farm animals, touch a snake, and learn all about music and outer space. If you have a toddler and are looking for a way to relax, workout, or just enjoy some self-care time, this is the place to be. The family membership includes up to 3 hours of childcare per day! This amenity is truly how I keep my sanity as a parent. I would recommend Kids World to anyone. It is worth every single penny!”

“I had the pleasure of staying here for five nights after a nightmare of seeing the Sonesta Suites. I really loved our corner king suite. It was close to the stairs for my service animals to use the restroom. I loved the complimentary breakfast. And the gym was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and attentive. Malika was helpful. And Enoch the service technician was helpful . We will definitely come back in March for another stay. Clean hotel. And safe location.”

“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We were a bit nervous due to some of the reviews and because we booked last minute due to a cancellation at our other hotel. But we were highly satisfied!
The lobby area and outside of the hotel is quite charming. The balcony room was spacious and cozy. The bed was comfortable and they provided both a firm and soft pillow. The walk to the “downtown” area was closer than it seemed. Took me about 20-25 minutes to walk there and it was easy, scenic, and safe walk.
A few items to be aware of:
- showers are a bit small
- balcony room doesn’t necessarily mean ocean view. Our balcony overlooked a parking lot with just a peak of the ocean. This was ok because the ocean was literally steps away from the hotel around the corner.
- breakfast in the morning was minimal, just pastries”
