Hotel Arcata is a historic and charming hotel located in the heart of Arcata. The building features well-preserved decor and a cozy, old-school atmosphere, with a lobby that includes a comfortable leather couch and displays of local historical pictures. Guests often appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff, who are quick to assist with room changes and provide helpful information about parking and safety. The hotel offers a central location close to small businesses and local attractions, making it convenient for walking around town. Rooms at the hotel are generally clean and spacious, with some guests noting the comfort of the beds and the presence of nice toiletries and good showers. However, a few rooms have experienced issues such as small size, close proximity of beds to walls, or uncomfortable beds that are sunken in the middle. Some rooms have been updated with high ceilings and antique fixtures, adding to the historic charm, though decor in certain areas may feature less appealing shades of beige. The courtyard-facing rooms provide a quiet environment with no street noise, and amenities like free parking passes and an included breakfast add to the convenience. Guests often mention the breathtaking views of the surrounding community and mountains, especially on clear days. The hotel’s location offers a sense of safety, with security cameras in hallways, and the staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and happy. Overall, Hotel Arcata provides a unique, historic experience with a warm community feel, making it a memorable place to stay in Arcata.
A beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Arcata. All the appliances worked well and the bed was comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. I stay here every time I'm in town!

Happily surprised to find a well taken care of cared for gem 💎 in the heart of town. Clean, friendly staff, well preserved rooms and decor, feels like walking into a John Fante novel. After a long couple of days of hiking, the claw foot tub was a sight for sore eyes! Would definitely stay here again!!
