Motel 6 Arcata offers an inexpensive and solid experience with good value for the cost. The check-in process is automated and different, using a kiosk or virtual assistant for a remote, straightforward service that some find efficient but others find impersonal. The staff is noted as friendly, helpful, and competent. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and fair for the price, with decent beds and functioning AC, though furnishings can be slightly worn-out. Some rooms are small, especially with two beds. Issues noted include very small, cheap towels, bathroom floors coming up, shower leaks, and walls that are not completely soundproof. The location is convenient and close to restaurants and major roads, with free parking outside, though parking can be tight during area events. The surrounding outdoors are nice, but the immediate area has some safety concerns with people on drugs and homeless individuals, though the motel itself has security cameras and feels safe with doors locked. It is considered a good deal for an affordable, short stay.
New to me was the automated, remote-service checkin. Great process. And a special thanks to Alex, who guided me through check in with competence, grace, and friendliness!

Wonderful experience. Convenient location. Parking was a little tight with an event in the area. But other than that, excellent. The room was small, especially with two beds, but it was absolutely fair considering the cost.
