Pet Care

Companion Veterinary Clinic
105 Auburn Folsom Rd, AuburnI am absolutely thrilled to share my exceptional experience with Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Karen Klentox at Companion Veterinary Clinic in Auburn. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had discovered a gem of a practice!
Despite their bustling schedule, the team went above and beyond to accommodate my dog's needs, even allowing for a last-minute drop-off, which I deeply appreciated. I was initially hesitant to leave my dobie Khyber, who is my everything, but then Dr. Sanchez surprised me by coming outside to introduce herself. Her warm demeanor immediately put me at ease.
Dr. Sanchez took the time to thoroughly discuss my dog's issues, treatment options, and medication suggestions. She recommended an incredible healing spray that works wonders for wounds and skin irritations—truly magical! She explained probiotics in detail and provided invaluable insights on the best ways to administer his medications and ointments. It was clear that even amidst the morning rush, she was dedicated to ensuring I fully understood everything for my dog's best outcome.
The technicians and staff at Companion Veterinary Clinic matched the high standard set by the veterinarians. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and organized, making me feel right at home. Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Klentox, in particular, were a breath of fresh air; their passion for their work and genuine care for both pets and their owners shone through in every interaction, giving me confidence in the care my pet was receiving.
I wholeheartedly recommend Companion Veterinary Clinic to anyone seeking compassionate, exceptional veterinary care for their beloved pets. They genuinely care, and it shows! Thank you, Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Klentox team, for going the extra mile to provide outstanding service!

Animal Clinic At Lake of the Pines, Inc.
10868 Combie Rd # 130, AuburnWe rescued a purebred 7-year-old dog from a shelter in Oregon last July that came with hidden health problems including heartworms, inflamed bowels, and heart arrhythmia. Only the heartworms were revealed upon the dog's initial wellness checkup. Normally, that's all one might expect to be noticed in such a visit. So the three-month process recommended by the American Heartworm Association to eradicate the heartworms began with a 30-day course of the antibiotic Doxycycline. However, after 3-weeks the dog became critically ill. His liver began failing and Dr. Grimes suggested IV treatments at an emergency pet clinic, which are VERY expensive. We opted for home treatments of several supplements and meds; a much less expensive alternative. Our guy began to respond very positively and a few weeks later he was MUCH better. Then just before we (Dr. Grimes and us) were planning the next phase of the heartworm eradication, that would actually kill the worms, our dog took a downturn within a couple of hours that day. He collapsed on our floor and we had to carry all 60 pounds of him to the car. We rushed him to the clinic and the staff came out to the car and helped carry him directly into treatment. Dr. Hardy and ALL of the assistants immediately began triage, running tests, and providing every possible treatment to save his life. We were VERY gratified and appreciative of their amazing all-out efforts. It was strongly recommended we take him to an emergency pet clinic and the staff set us up with one of them. All the needed test results were transmitted directly to the emergency clinic, so when we arrived the staff there were able to rush into action to help our guy. The heart arrhythmia problem was revealed and the inflamed bowels were confirmed. Unfortunately, the prognosis was pretty poor, and we realized it was time to put our guy out of his misery. Sadly he was euthanized at that point, and we took him home to permanently rest on our rural property in Nevada County under a transplanted tree. All in all, we found the Animal Clinic at Lake of the Pines to be a great resource for pet healthcare. We can't say enough good about the service and staff there. Dr. Grimes gave us a call the day after our ordeal, giving us her heartfelt condolences. When we get another pet, we will definitely return for our new pets healthcare.

Pet Sitting & Training

K9 Conditioning LLC
Neils Rd, AuburnExceptional! I can't think of a more fitting word to express our entire experience with K9 Conditioning. We did the 4 week board and train with our 4 month old Buckley a Bermise Mountain Dog you will see in some of their latest pics. The dog we got back compared to the crazy puppy we dropped off is night and day. Steph, the head trainer is such an amazing person to work with. I am not exaggerating when I say he sent, updates, photos, videos, links to info, or some kind of information about how things were going almost every day. When my wife and I met with him to do the included one on one training, (mostly for us at that point), he was so patient with us and our dog. We honestly can't wait to use what he's taught us to help Buckley remain as calm, cool, and amazing as we now know he can be. We will be bringing every dog we end up having to K9C and could not be more pleased.

I got the seasonal Tri-Tip Cheesesteak and MAN what a taste bud party - the garlic aioli married so beautifully with the toasty sweet roll and salty, charred meat. OMG. SO GOOD. I was originally going to eat only half of a full sandwich but I before I knew it it was all gone. 11/10 would recommend to a friend!

Old Town Grill
160 Sacramento St, AuburnFood: Went here for breakfast and the food was pretty decent. Nothing extraordinary, but reasonable and they served my waffles with what appeared to be house-made whipped cream. Placer County Animal Services Center
11232 B Ave, AuburnI think this facility is a good place for stray or lost animals. It's sad to see them there as they look like great pets to adopt. I just wished I had more room to adopt some of the dogs there, but I am currently dealing with two at the moment. Maybe later this year because the oldest dog is circling the drain.
