I was on a long drive back from San Francisco to San Diego when I got the check hybrid warning on my Prius. After having to stay in Bakersfield for two nights, I got in touch with Charlene and she was just great. “These guys are amazing. On a trip to Central Cali wine country for my niece's wedding, my car completely shut down (it's old and well... It's just old). No clue of the problem, but these guys did everything they could to get me to that wedding short of driving me to it themselves. Gave me a phenomenal price on repairs and turned a scary moment into a triumph.

“Sergio and Nathan were a huge help! I had what looked like a bird’s nest—or something similar—stuck in a pocket under the hood of my car, and it was causing a terrible smell. I was nervous to keep driving it, but by the time I realized the issue, it was already 4:30 PM and no other place nearby could take a look.Thankfully, they told me to come by, and they were able to remove the nest along with the rest of the debris in my hood quickly and efficiently. “This business is a well oiled family business. I was driving through Bakersfield around 4P on a weekday and experienced car troubles. I called SEVERAL mechanics in the Bakersfield area and all were either closing or not available. I even have AAA, they came out and could not fix the issue. My last call was to Castro's Auto Repair. I explained my issue and they sent a mechanic to my location to assist with car issue. The mechanic arrived fixed my car good enough for me to follow him back to the auto shop (about a 10 min drive). I waited patiently once at the auto shop for the repair- about 45 minutes. Once repaired I paid for their service which might I add was VERY REASONABLE And FAIR considering my emergency auto issue. On my way back through Bakersfield I stopped by for an oil change and to have the mechanic look at the car once more before continuing a loooooong drive. I am TRULY GRATEFUL for CASTRO's AUTO REPAIR. This business and its owners, employees are truly the DEFINITION of CUSTOMER SERVICE, RELIABLE, AND EFFICIENT AND HUST OVERALL GOOD PEOPLE. Castro's is officially my mechanic -I will drive to Bakersfield for them to service my car-YES it is THAT SERIOUS. If you are reading this do not pass this business up!”
“On our drive from Knoxville TN, we had to have our vehicle towed into Bakersfield from Boron. Another automatic transmission shop referred us to R & H for repairs on my RAMs pinion bearing.When I called to get the truck in they were friendly and understanding. They had a rebuild kit in stock. It was dropped off midday and was ready late the next morning. They're good people.”

“This family run business is great. Everyone was very professional and very communicative. They were reasonably priced and did great work. The transmission in our 98 ford explorer went out and we lost reverse only. They rebuilt the whole transmission and went through everything. They ran into a problem with our car being stuck in 4 wheel drive low and called to ask us questions and work out a plan for it. I will be recommending this shop to anyone who asks me for a transmission recommendation. And we will likely be taking our other truck here in the future when we are ready to have it worked on.
