“Wonderful little motel! My friend and I stopped here for the Big Pine Lakes hike the following day, when we arrived it was already dark and we were hungry and the sweet lady that owns the motel not only stayed late especially for us, but offered us homemade soup!

The room we had 2 beds and it was very cozy and clean, and we really enjoyed our stay! The Big Pine Lakes trail is also only a 15-20 min drive from the motel, pretty much a straight shot.”

“We were driving from Tahoe to the Coachella Valley after skiing and Big Pine was halfway so we stayed at the Starlight Motel.

We were in the last room. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and it was very affordable for an "I need to sleep before continuing my road trip" stay. There were plenty of towels and even soaps and shampoos.

I will make two observations. The heater works well, but not very efficiently. It is either on or off. And eventually, we went with off because the room was getting too hot and the blankets were more than enough to keep us warm.
There was also a low level noise, something cycling on and off intermittently the whole time. It didn't disrupt our sleep, but could be a nuisance to a light sleeper.”

“We, family of 3 adults camped 3 nights on 9/10/26-9/13/26 with our small RV at site #7 with no issues. Easy drive up the mountain, into campground and set up. We had water/sewer hook ups, used our generator a couple of hours a day.
Website mentions some food available, but we were glad we brought everything we needed as the general store provided only basic snacks and a small selection of drinks, as well as basic outdoor essentials.
Location with mountain views, flowing creek, trails nearby and fish pond makes for a stunning setting.
Glacier Lodge is run by a small family and they have their hands full with the daily needs of upkeep and maintenance. But, we appreciated the history of the lodge and what they are doing to keep the business available to the public. Andrew and Darrin were accommodating and friendly. They responded well with our questions via text prior to trip. Loved the quaint general store.
Glacier Lodge provided a comfortable place to rest before and after our Big Pine Lakes hike.
Besides the property upkeep, the overall experience was great and we hope to return. It felt good to support a family business and wish them the best!”

“Cute little motel! The room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It's close to the road, so you can hear some traffic, but that didn't bother me. My bed was comfortable, this was just the recharge I needed.”
