“This is an enchanted place. We were very informed before we arrived so we were ready to unplug. And yes the rooms are dark and that was fine for us. We stayed in Lower Creek and our daughter and her husband stayed in Upper Creek. Both rooms were recently renovated due to mudslides but they were both rustic and with some charming outdoor patio spaces. The breakfasts were outstanding. We missed the dinners because we were there on a Wednesday and Thursday when dinner service is not offered.”

“We had an amazing stay at Riplewood. We stayed in the duplex cabin which is on the smaller side. Nonetheless, we loved our stay. However, be mindful that the wall separating the 2 cabins is pretty thin, but we were lucky enough to have very respectful neighbours during our stay. We would definitely return in the future.

However, I would not recommend the restaurant. Food was very average especially for the price. I think there are better options in Big Sur to eat out.”

“I'm a Big Sur wedding and elopement photographer, and if there's one place I recommend to couples, it's Glen Oaks. Easily one of the most popular spots to elope in Big Sur, Glen Oaks has lots of different cabins to choose from and beautiful redwoods trails all around their property. There's also a trail that goes to the river where you can sit on Adirondack chairs.

I highly recommend staying at the Redwood Grove cabins or Bridge House, since the Adobe Motor Lodge rooms and Oak Tree cottages are on the opposite side of the highway. All the cabins are a little different, so definitely take a look at each of them! Most of them have patios and fire pits, some even have outdoor tubs. If you want more privacy, the Bunk House and Bridge House are located across a suspension bridge, so they're much more private than the other cabins. There's also good wifi here, which is great because there's not much cell service in Big Sur. Sometimes you might even see deer roaming around which makes it all the more magical!”

“Stopped by this lovely spot for breakfast. There's a river next to it which is nice, I loved how calming the view was. The dishes we had were pretty good and comforting, exactly what we needed to start our Day Trip to Big Sur. The staff were so nice and friendly too.”

“The lodge is inside the Pheiffer big sur state park. The fee covers the entrance fee of three nearby parks which are Andrew Molera, Pheiffer Big Sur and Julia Pheiffer burns state parks, with the exception of the Pheiffer beach which charges an additional $15 per vehicle by the park. The room we chose has a living room with one double bed and one sofa bed, and a separate bedroom with a double bed. A deck is attached to the lodge, providing a great experience of stargazing. The Wi-Fi reception was poor in the room and the tech guys were in the process of upgrading the equipment. If we ever have a chance to revisit the big sur area, we would consider this lodge again but would definitely book much in advance instead of a last minute booking. Overall, we all enjoyed the stay!”
