Manor Market's service to the local community as well as long time visitors solidifies its place in history as well as in the future.
Although the surrounding parcels have changed hands many times, a portion was owned by Albert W. Wonacott, whose family arrived in the Owens Valley by wagon train from the east in 1874. Albert and his wife Carrie (Thompson) raised three children and were long known for their dairy business and hospitable nature.
Originally built in 1961 by Tom and Dora Styx, Manor Market served as a liquor store that later added meats. In 1968 it was purchased by Troy and Susie Oney and has served as a pharmacy and a grocery store.
Manor Market is known for supporting the local community as well as many non-profits. From purchasing locally grown produce or supporting Future Farmers of America, Manor Markets roots are deeply intertwined in our community.
Manor Market continues to be a beacon of hospitality and small town charm. In the midst of big box and popularized chain stores, Manor Market strives to standout as homegrown and family owned.”
