The Best Western John Jay Inn in Calexico, California, offers a comfortable and convenient stay for travelers. The staff is described as friendly and helpful, providing a pleasant experience for guests. The rooms are generally clean and well-maintained, with basic amenities such as a tub and microwave. However, some reviews mention the need for updates and renovations, as the hotel is older and may show signs of wear. The location of the hotel is a bit of a concern, as it is situated near some troubled areas of the town. While the hotel has security measures in place, such as fenced parking lots and security cameras, guests are advised to be mindful of their surroundings, especially at night. The complimentary breakfast is a mixed bag, with some guests enjoying the variety and daily menu changes, while others found the selection and quality to be lacking, particularly the absence of meat options. Overall, the Best Western John Jay Inn is described as a decent and affordable hotel, providing a reasonable value for the price.
Stayed here for a couple of months. Great staff and accommodations.

It was usual BW quality. The staff were really nice and the room was great too. The location was in Calexico so it didn't feel the safest, but it was good. The road was very bumpy though. Breakfast was really good and I liked how they have a variety for breakfast. Plus, the menu changes every day.
