“I just attended the wedding of my great niece, Jen Lauderdale, now Burnell, at this venue. It was fantastic!! I was concerned about an outdoor wedding in July, but the seating area for the wedding was nicely shaded and the chairs very comfortable. Then we went down to the reception area and had wine and a variety of appetizers. The food was from Command Performance Catering and was delicious! The view from the reception area was gorgeous!! This is a beautiful venue for a wedding!!”

“I put 5 stars for food because drinks were not an option. This place is a speakeasy and it does not disappoint. Super cool atmosphere with “secret” entrance. Very nice to have a cool, local place within Ventura County to enjoy a nice cocktail.”

“Padre Serra is a community of communities. While it is Catholic liturgy, everyone is welcome and there is a group for everyone. I have several disabilities. Not only am I welcome and accepted, I am assisted when I need it. Jesus is the center of our community life. Kids, teens, young adults, men, women, moms, vets, and everyone else is positively welcomed - no matter how you do or do not identify. I don't know how pastor Patrick managed to stay so hopeful during pandemic, but that's the reality in this community.Our pastor wants us to wear any kind of a name tag ... Some do revolt and they are welcome, too. Two person rule and background check for everyone who ministers with young ones. Safety is fully supported. Oh, and lovely religious music and excellent preaching. Worship aid for each week's music and prayers. We want you here and it's just fine if you don't come. It meets so many of our human needs... better than social media.”

“Nicest people! Plenty of easy parking behind the store. Interior was clean and organized. Quiet hum of voices playing various board games at tables. Craig was a huge help. I know so little about this, but was looking for a specific Christmas gift. I first called, since this item was out of stock in several places. He had what I needed and explained some differences in similar items. Taking my name, he then held those for me, and I just picked them up. Highly recommend!”

“Attending a wedding here for the first time and it was a wonderful venue. The grounds were incredible and the location easy to get to with ample parking for guests.An outdoor garden setting for the wedding, cocktail hours in a different outdoor setting, followed by the reception inside the big red bard. Loved the lighting with rustic, yet simple vibes.I would love yo attend another event here!”

“Great place to gather and meet new friends.Had breakfast here today, the eggs Benedict was delicious ordered the hashbrowns over potatoes, must be a shortage on potatoes because we got 4 bites out of them. For the price we should at least get 5 bites.The portions were smaller than we are used to but still tasty.”

“I met with the owner today and he showed me around. This place is the perfect location for any type of get together that you can think of. Next to 99 cent store, it's huge. Kitchen, bar, stage, dance floor and a large outdoor area. You need a place to have a party, this is it.”

“I've seen some music shows at Cantara. The golden ale that I've had is very tasty. I haven't tried any wine or pizza. The chicken drumettes and wings are tasty but not plentiful. The tri-tip tater tots are decent. The service is friendly.”

“Get past the outdated decor... this feels like a place you would have been to with your grandparents when you were a kid. There are plenty of choices on the menu but 3 of 4 of our group ordered the Prime Rib dinner. It comes with soup or salad (they serve French Onion daily but we got the white Clam Chowder). You also have a choice of 2 sides. We had the baked potato and mixed veggies. Meat was perfectly cooked as we ordered. Our Server was super friendly and experienced. We arrived at the beginning of the dinner hour. It got busier while we were eating and there seemed to be a need for more help. Servers were doing their best to keep things on pace but there were a couple of slow waits to be seated for some arrivals.”

“This is the perfect hotel for a family on an extended weekend or holiday. Each room has a large comfortable bed, spacious living space, and large kitchen/dining area. The one negative is the small store in the lobby where prices are way too high. I was charged $18.75 for two sodas and a snickers bar. Overcharging on the small things won’t bring repeat customers to your hotel. Other than that this is a perfect place to stay in the area.”

“Overall really nice room, bed comfortable & clean, workmanship for a NEW hotel... looks like it was done in a hurry. Free breakfast... 3 stars (there was no bacon or sausage). The most unusual thing was when you walk into the room it senses you & turns on some of the lighting, TV, air...kinda weird! Then at night when you are trying to go to sleep with the TV on or if you say something, a light comes on, on the ceiling as you speak!! Is someone or something listening? recording? When I called the front desk... they did not know & said maybe the carbon monoxide or smoke detector? NO. Then, when I mentioned sensors... Oh maybe thats it they said. Just an uncomfortable thing of the times.Nearby activities: Great bar & restaurant next door, pricy though Sportsmans!”

“My Daughters and I visited Purrmaid Cafe this last weekend! We were greeted warmly by Robin. She was so friendly and gave them little cat ears! Such a sweet touch. We instantly fell in love with a brother and sister kittens- whom we ended up adopting. Purrmaid cafe was very clean and cozy! The adoption process went very smoothly and was overall such a memorable experience! You can tell that these cats are so well taken care of and loved! Highly highly recommended this place if you’re looking to adopt some lovable cat(s) or if you are looking to just hangout with them. Thank you so deeply to Robin and her Husband! My girls and I will never forget this moment!”
