“Stayed here to ride out winter weather. Room was priced lower, staff was excellent. The room was very nice and the breakfast was better than many other places. Small retail area is within easy walking distance. We would certainly stay here again.”

“If you want to stay at a beautiful, restored bed and breakfast hotel in the area, Dutch flats is it. The rooms are awesome, food is excellent, and even better.....the service is just amazing. You are treated like family in this tiny town and great place. My sister and I traveled from the Pacific Northwest for a family function, and were treated like long time friends by everyone. Highly recommend!”

“While not a luxury hotel, the staff that runs this lovely compound, apparently owned by a loving and caring elder is amazing. A one of a kind, immaculate compound of separate buildings with beautiful landscaping. In addition to how it looks is the team that runs this operation. I wish I remembered everyone's name but Kiera and Carol I last spoke to, so I recall their names the best . You walk into the registration and adjacent Cafe, where complementary freshly prepared waffles, omelette (amazing) you've ever had. Coffee, tea, juices, breads, fresh fruit..... in the evening they set out Chardonnay, Merlot, Cab, cheese, crackers, mixed nuts a veritable feast. I have a standard poodle and she was treated like royalty. I understand they have a Facebook page as well with photos of all their canine and feline guests. I did see a fairly large swimming pool and understand they also have a fitness room. I honestly can't wait to go back because now I love Grass Valley too.”

“Stayed here for 2 months. Dan, the owner, is very nice and understanding. He recently purchased the place and has done an outstanding job cleaning things up. It's not perfect, but he's brought it a long way. All of the tenants are a pleasure and very helpful. Everyone there makes you feel welcome. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone.”
“The motel is located in an area that is surrounded by beautiful homes and a golf course. There is a restaurant at the golf course country club across the street,, I’d didn’t get a chance to try it though. The room was clean, and the front desk person was very helpful and professional.”
“Managers are kind and understanding and very helpful. It's a roof over your head, with a warm bed to sleep. Why complain, it's a live savor especially when your fighting for your health to survive. They have big warm hearts here!!”

“I wasn’t expecting much after reading the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by kind front desk women, clean room, and overall service.
I couldn’t hear my neighbors at all, and I was in a clean room with a vinyl flooring and a very comfortable bed (the room was near the smoking area so there were some cigarette smell in the air outside, but it didn’t make it inside).
The shower has strong water pressure - although it look long to get warm, but it was VERY warm when it was!
The hair dryer didn’t work in our room but I didn’t bother to call the front.
Overall happy and will return again.
(Call ahead re staying w a dog - we were told extra $60 so we decided not to have our dog in the room)”

“Wow. Talk about customer service. I have been staying at Airbnb’s and hotels, including the racist Gold Miner’s Inn, and nothing comes close to the exceptional service provided here at the Northern Queen Inn. Vanessa always greets us with a smile and is always happy to meet my needs, unlike the other places in town. She makes you feel heard and meets your needs as a guest as much as possible. I don’t see customer service like hers anymore. Anywhere. Thank you for the good vibrations, I think the other receptionists here can take note of her work and learn from her lead. I hope you give this great listener and over-achiever a raise that she deserves as I have had attitude from the other girls, which is so unnecessary. And it goes to show you their privilege. She is the only reason I stay here at Northern Queen Inn and I hope the owners and her boss take note of her presence and how much her energy reciprocates into your business. Like I said, had she not been here, we would not be staying here. Thank you Vanessa!! Wooohooo!! U rock. U make this place rock.”

“The owners were sooooo accommodating for my daughter and I. Stranded with no vehicle, they took us in at 4am...no problem. Stayed in contact with us during our stay to ensure we were ok to leave when our car was fixed. Room was great and very affordable. Restaurants right next door. Fantastic owners.”
