“Don't stay here expecting modern amenities. Do stay here if you want a glimpse of the past. We stayed in one of the Family Suites with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable, but walls are thin. You will definitely hear your neighbors so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Exploring the ship was amazing. By staying at the hotel on the ship you can basically explore 24 hours a day if you're so inclined. My only negative is that vegetarian/vegan food choices among the various dining options are very limited.”

“THANK YOU Casa Del Mar for saving our weekend!! We started off our 3 night stay next door at your sister property - Shutters on the Beach (see review). Due to a lot of unfortunate circumstances, we were able to stay in one of your One Bedroom Suites and we were SO HAPPY!!

This room was quiet, spacious and exactly what we were looking for.

Your rooms manager was so helpful and we couldn't have been more happy and relaxed with what you provided.

Housekeeping (I think her name was Maritzia) was so prideful of making sure we had everything we needed - such a nice touch.

Room service always arrived quickly and the food was hot and delicious.

One of the bellman said that Casa Del Mar sometimes gets overlooked - and this is my hope that it gets more stays because of this. We will definitely return and can't wait to sing your praises!!”

“Great hotel for pre-cruise stay. Friendly staff, super walkable location, close to everything. Uber ride to the cruise port is about $30. Room clean, and good water pressure in shower. 7-11 is about a 10-minute walk, if you're seeking the nearest place to buy a 12-pack of Coke to bring aboard.”

“First, I'd like to talk about the check-in process. I checked in around 3:30, and the gentleman at the front desk was amazing. He was very polite, provided a thorough rundown of the hotel, and made us feel welcome. The room was excellent—very clean and fresh-smelling. Unlike some other hotels, I didn't feel the need to pull out my own cleaning supplies. The room was well-maintained, and I was very pleased with it. The following morning, I had breakfast at the hotel. There was a good selection of food, and I have no complaints. The tables were clean, and the ladies working in the breakfast area were very polite and attentive. Throughout my stay, every time I entered or exited the hotel, the front desk staff greeted me warmly. Overall, the customer service was great—until checkout. The issue I had was with the checkout experience on 6/1 at approximately 9:30 a.m. The lady at the front desk was very rude. When I told her I was checking out, she asked for my room keys. I explained that I had left them in the room. She insisted that she needed them back, so I had to go upstairs and ask housekeeping to open the door so I could retrieve the two keys and bring them back downstairs. After returning the keys, I asked for a checkout receipt. She told me she could not provide one. I asked how I would know if there were any additional charges, and she simply told me to wait 5–7 business days for my bank to release the funds. I explained that other hotels typically provide paperwork or email confirmation showing that I have checked out, but she said no. What made the interaction even more frustrating was that she was on her phone throughout the conversation and appeared uninterested in helping me. Her behavior was unprofessional and left a negative final impression after what had otherwise been a very pleasant stay.
Overall, I enjoyed the hotel, the cleanliness, the breakfast, and the service from most of the staff. Unfortunately, the checkout experience significantly impacted my overall impression.”

“This hotel is absolutely wonderful!! Staff is great, bar/restautant in lobby with Starbucks is good & convenient and the included shuttle in immediate area is a nice thing also. We were totally enthralled with the welcoming of the ducks that you can pick a few to take home!!”

“I am currently staying at this property for 13 nights, with another 7 nights remaining. The location, cleanliness, and overall maintenance of the property are truly very good and much appreciated.

However, I would like to bring one small concern to your attention. The breakfast menu has been exactly the same every day without any variation. For long-duration guests like me, it would be really nice to have some changes or rotation in the breakfast menu.

I would sincerely appreciate it if this aspect could be considered, as it would greatly enhance the experience for guests staying for an extended period.

Jaline and Mike on the security team deserve just as much recognition. They made me feel completely safe and at ease throughout my entire stay. You can tell they genuinely care about the guests — always attentive, always professional.

“June 2025.I love the way Best Western aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay at a reasonable price. I arrived early and they allowed me to check in at 1pm instead of 3pm. Once arrive at my room.I check around and the beds was so amazing for the first time. Brand new sheets and more. Bathroom was beautiful. Breakfast- we was toad on the first day that breakfast ended at 9:30 AM, but it really ended at 10 AM. So we could’ve made it to the second floor. We would of had 30 minutes to eat, but by one of the ladies in the front office telling us the wrong time on the first day we didn’t have breakfast. I would love to be back for my next trip. They also listened and corrected the breakfast food issue.
January 31-2nd of February- kool bed was itchy and toilet was dirty upon arrival with pee. Change rooms hours later because they didn’t have anything available until 3 hours later from 5am. Also a spider in the pillowcase with pillow. But I will still stay, it happens.

“I stayed at Motel 6 Bell Gardens during a short trip and honestly got exactly what I was looking for. It wasn’t a luxury hotel, and I wasn’t expecting it to be. I needed a clean place to sleep, a hot shower, and a convenient location, and it delivered on all three.

The room was clean when I arrived, the bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s rest, and the staff was friendly throughout my stay. Check-in was quick, which is always appreciated after a long day of driving.

What I liked most was the value. In Los Angeles, hotel prices can get out of control very quickly, so finding a reasonably priced option that does the basics well is a win in my book.

If you’re looking for a simple, budget-friendly place to stay and understand what Motel 6 is meant to be, you’ll probably be satisfied. No unnecessary frills, just a straightforward place to spend the night and continue your trip the next morning.”

“I had to come out here for the weekend, I was looking for hours on where to book with not spending to much , I was hesitant & honestly nervous because the reviews seem wishy washy , but my 2 day stay was perfect , my room was clean everything was perfect, bed was comfortable I didn’t look into the breakfast so I can’t review that but the customer service & room conditions were excellent very quite , I did have to pay 20$ for parking which kinda of sucked but I’d definitely stay here again if needed too.”

“What a gem! I stayed for 4 nights and was so happy I chose to stay here over a faceless hotel chain. The location is fantastic, just about a 10 minute walk from the beach. The house is lovely, with antique furniture, historic photos of Long Beach, and just an overall cozy vibe. If you're charmed by historic homes, this is your place.

My room was comfortable, very clean, and had all that I needed for a pleasant stay - including an adorable little iron and ironing board! Staying on the south side of the building, there was a little bit of street noise from Broadway, but I put in some earplugs and slept perfectly fine. I had a key code for the front door and my room, which takes away the worry of losing a key or key card.

As a big morning breakfast person, I was so happy to start each day with Pat's home cooked breakfast. The spread always included a small dish of cut fruit (not just melons!), toast, a savory entree, tea, coffee, juice, and cereal. Best of all, Pat was so nice to talk to!

Very highly recommended.”

Great staff especially at the front desk, Oliver dayside and Eric was there overnight and they were both so friendly and helpful especially Eric this morning when I left, helped me finish out a great trip and stay, from the free bottled water to the golf cart with Andre down the hill to a restaurant and then came back to get me. “Honestly for the price, exceeded my expectations. New sheets and towels every day, can’t complain about that. Tons of lightning, charging ports, outlets, and a tv with lots of channel options. No HDMI? The bathroom was super clean and had lots of space to get ready in. The check in/ check out process was super fast and easy. Only downside is the room floor not as clean as other areas of the room”

“Thank you to the hotel staff for answering questions regarding our stay. This hotel is in a central location in Long Beach. Close to the CSULB University. We stayed at Hotel Current a few years ago and the experience was wonderful. Across from the Golf Course and close to great shops and restaurants. Fantastic pool and parking available.”

“Got norms, a burger joint, pizza and seafood. Got 711 around corner. Chevron and shell. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST I COME ALL THE TIME. JAY is so courteous and always does everything to make sure I'm happy with room and services. He's very welcoming and makes sure this place stays clean and calming. No druggies hanging out in parking lot or parties going on in rooms. It's such a great place for great price. Thanks you Epic and Jay.”

“During my recent stay at this hotel, I was disappointed to find that the advertised whirlpool was out of order. This was one of the main amenities I was looking forward to, and its unavailability diminished my overall experience.

Additionally, the shower booth in my room was uncomfortably small, making it difficult for an average adult to use it comfortably. This lack of space detracted from what should have been a relaxing and convenient stay.

I was also dissatisfied with the service at the front desk. Despite being an elite member, the hotel agent did not acknowledge my status and refused to grant a late check-out, which is a standard benefit typically offered. By the way, this was a Comfort Inn in the past.”

“$89 for a queen bed, mini fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, and built in shower. I was thinking it wouldn’t be the best, but let me tell you this is the best motel i’ve ever slept in looks wise. Couldn’t get the tv to work and I called and literally within seconds they were here to fix it! If you’re debating booking here just do it i promise you you won’t regret it!!!”

“Pleasantly surprised by this Best Western. Rooms were clean, although a but outdated. Check in / out was easy. My 3 complaints: breakfast is a bit small, not enough options. The rooms are a bit outdated. The walls are thin, you will hear if you have neighbors. I actually recommend staying here, the price is right and the rooms are clean.”
