“Don't stay here expecting modern amenities. Do stay here if you want a glimpse of the past. We stayed in one of the Family Suites with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable, but walls are thin. You will definitely hear your neighbors so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Exploring the ship was amazing. By staying at the hotel on the ship you can basically explore 24 hours a day if you're so inclined. My only negative is that vegetarian/vegan food choices among the various dining options are very limited.”

“Great hotel for pre-cruise stay. Friendly staff, super walkable location, close to everything. Uber ride to the cruise port is about $30. Room clean, and good water pressure in shower. 7-11 is about a 10-minute walk, if you're seeking the nearest place to buy a 12-pack of Coke to bring aboard.”

“Our stay at the Fairmont Breakers Long Beach was nothing short of incredible. The room and overall hospitality exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived.

In-room dining was prompt and reliable every single time, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The pool was warm and relaxing, perfect for unwinding.

The hotel itself is quiet, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable getaway.”

“This hotel is absolutely wonderful!! Staff is great, bar/restautant in lobby with Starbucks is good & convenient and the included shuttle in immediate area is a nice thing also. We were totally enthralled with the welcoming of the ducks that you can pick a few to take home!!”

“What a gem! I stayed for 4 nights and was so happy I chose to stay here over a faceless hotel chain. The location is fantastic, just about a 10 minute walk from the beach. The house is lovely, with antique furniture, historic photos of Long Beach, and just an overall cozy vibe. If you're charmed by historic homes, this is your place.

My room was comfortable, very clean, and had all that I needed for a pleasant stay - including an adorable little iron and ironing board! Staying on the south side of the building, there was a little bit of street noise from Broadway, but I put in some earplugs and slept perfectly fine. I had a key code for the front door and my room, which takes away the worry of losing a key or key card.

As a big morning breakfast person, I was so happy to start each day with Pat's home cooked breakfast. The spread always included a small dish of cut fruit (not just melons!), toast, a savory entree, tea, coffee, juice, and cereal. Best of all, Pat was so nice to talk to!

Very highly recommended.”

“Thank you to the hotel staff for answering questions regarding our stay. This hotel is in a central location in Long Beach. Close to the CSULB University. We stayed at Hotel Current a few years ago and the experience was wonderful. Across from the Golf Course and close to great shops and restaurants. Fantastic pool and parking available.”

“Very good location, close to many restaurants and beach. The staff were very accommodating.
The hotel parking is very expensive but there is free street parking near the hotel at night, if you can find a spot.”

“This has got to be the coolest hotel for the price out here. As I pulled in earlier to get a room for the night the owners or staff, (i'm not sure but I'm assuming family owned) & their friends or maybe just guests idk but they were all doing a barbecue & gave me a plate of free Indian seasoned chicken! It was damn good. On top of that, all of them treated me with some good old southern hospitality! It was so cool to see indians and Mexicans and myself a white man chilling/vibing having a good time. The energy was ?! And my room is a nice clean room. Comfy bed too. I don't know if these people are the part of the Patel family or not I didn't ask any questions or talk about who they are but if they are in the Patel family then they are the good Patel's, u can tell. Years ago I did work for Mike Patel back home in Omaha Nebraska at their hotels and a gas station they owned & mild Patel & his family we're great people & treated me & other workers good. Bottom line....these are kind people & a nice hotel!”

“Our party of 4 stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms, pre Princess cruise. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. We had a nice harbor view but being on the 4th floor the bridge blocked our views of the Queen Mary. If you want to see her from your room, ask for a higher floor.

My only bummer was lack of water in the lobby.. they tried to keep the pitcher full but it was constantly empty because people filled their water bottles and drained the pitchers. A water bottle filling station would have been great! I searched for one and found a water fountain but not with a bottle filler. I also wished for 24 hour coffee/tea in the lobby. I always think that is such a nice touch. We could have made it in our rooms but when sitting in the lobby it's nice to have that option right there.

The location was fine, close to both cruise ports but there was no food around really so we had to uber over the bridge. It was also noisy at night when small boats were blaring their music as they came back to the marina. Nothing the hotel can do about that but if you're sensitive to noise it's something watch out for.”

“Location of this place had me skeptical but room changed my mind. Rooms are very nice and clean. Only issue is shower is in room. They need add privacy curtains for families so everyone cant watch you shower. Very limited parking. Its a block from the beach. The staff very professional and friendly. We will definitely be staying here again.”

“Long Beach Marriott is a large hotel. It has an on-site Starbucks, a bar and Mexican food restaurant. You can do a lot with their Bon Voy app, such as checking in/out, wifi and remote door access. There is plenty of free parking available outside. The gym/workout room looked decent as well as their outdoor pool. I attended a conference in one of their banquet rooms and it was spacious and comfortable. The room was nice and the bed was comfy as far as hotel beds go. Overall, I had a good experience.”

“It's a great area. Seems like a lot of changes are happening & I'm sure there's more to come. I really like the nail salon walked over to Traders after that did some shopping. I'm going to miss the claim jumper but c'est la vie.”

“This is a decent place. Clean and well-kept. The building itself is old and the room I had was a bit small for my size. There is no elevator, so avoid heavy luggage.”

“Very clean hotel. Great location. The lobby and breakfast area are always so clean. The breakfast chef, Rosie, does an OUTSTANDING job and she works very hard to supply you with a GREAT breakfast to start your day. The front desk staff are so helpful and happy that you're there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this establishment.”

“Very convenient and close to my job. Hands down probably one of the best place to stay during the week and also on the weekends. Customer service is amazing and the rooms and the outside is very clean and will manicured. I'm in this place to anybody to stay. Very nice and quiet pleasure to be in with nice televisions and triple beds.”

“We were talking a cruise out of San Pedro and this establishment is in perfect proximity, the owner is so nice and understanding. Our room is perfect and reasonable priced, it's our 2nd visit here and if we sail out of long Beach again we'll stay here.”

“Like every year we come to California for the beaches so this time Quality inn was the place we chose to stay for a week. We gat here around 10pm and the check in was easy, front desk was nice and I was happy that we had gotten our two rooms together like I had requested, this was a family trip and we had little kids and daughters with us so I needed them to be together or at least closer. We got them next to each other wich was a plus! Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The complementary breakfast was good they dont do any variation its just buffet style eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, juice, tea. But the lady that does the breakfast for the majority of the trip could put a little more effort in to it. The only day which was our last day, a different person prepared it and it was delicious, the eggs didn't have any water and the sausages were toasted! And my only other complain is tha A/C it is really loud. Other wise this location is great! Close to the beaches which is what we came for!”

“Booked this hotel last minute and I'm glad I did. I needed a quick getaway from the LA area and on a whim.... decided to book a 2 night stay. I checked in somewhat late and was greeted by Daniela. She was amazing! She was very patient, informative, and knowledgeable of the area. She gave me great recommendations on restaurants and bars in the area and also recommend things to do during my brief stay (aerial tramway was dope). Traveling alone sometimes can be a little nerve wrecking, so being greeted with good positive energy really set the tone. Thank you Daniela .The room I stayed in was cool. The partition by the sink came off a couple times, but I just popped it back in. The sink water wasn't the clearest either and the water took forever to drain. Other than that... no major complaints lol. The jacuzzi in the room was very spacious and relaxing!I was too busy being a tourist that I didn't get a chance reap the benefits of the pool, but it looked like a lot of fun. The location was great too. I was able to walk to many restaurants, bars, and shops throughout downtown. I'd definitely be back here. Stay classy Palm Springs”

“Pretty good hotel to stay at.

Pros: Comfortable bed(s) , nice view from the top floor, pool and hot tub. It’s a bit of an older hotel but it’s give you a nice place to stay.

Cons:
Warm to a little cold shower water. Wish it was a bit hot
Noisy especially when traffic is nearby.( it didn’t bother me that much since I’m a heavy sleeper )
No free breakfast

I was in room 1209 and it was nice!

A good place to stay but expect some flaws due to this being an older hotel.”

“Overall the room was comfortable and it had a small in cabinet refrigerator and a coffee maker. The room I was assigned had a musty smell throughout it which was unpleasant. The location is good and there are plenty of dining and retail shopping nearby. Inside the hotel there is a restaurant, bar, and coffee shop. The convention center is also within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.”

“Perhaps one of the best motels in that area in long Beach with its unique and elegant design the court-yard glows at night creating a vibrant and attractive atmosphire. Shops are near mostly walking distance. With all units facing the court-yard with no steps or curb in or around the rooms it's very convenient to get around with a wheelchair. Rooms are larger then avrage, spacious and very well-maintained, fresh and comfortable, well decorated, walk-in-shower, pet freindly. Good value for your money. My first choice in that area. Highly recomanded.”

“I really enjoyed my stay at The Varden Hotel. You honestly can’t beat the price for the location — it’s in a great area of downtown Long Beach with a lot nearby and easy access to everything.

The hotel itself was clean, modern, and had a nice boutique feel. The rooms are definitely very small for two people, and the walls are thin so you can hear a lot around you, but honestly it didn’t ruin the experience for me. Overall I liked it a lot and would stay again, especially for the price and location.”

“The rooms are really nice. I asked for 2 beds and didn't expect 2 beds in their own private rooms. The guy was really kind at the window and deserves 5 stars! The bathroom mirror was really nice that lit up 3 different shades of light!!!! Definitely coming back again.”

“Ok so we have stayed in a lot of motels and hotels and the lady’s that were running this place on Christmas Eve deserve this review. They treated us like we were home on winter vacation from collage not complete strangers that were staying a night. We thought the rooms had fridges so they got a bag of ice and a cooler for us. Just the tip of the ice burg. On top of the treatment like we were at the Hilton the rooms are newly redone very tastefully. Somebody put some money into it and it shows I can tell you by the neighborhood that that place did not always look like that m. So whoever did it well done. Again to the staff this is the couple you help out thanks and happy new year.”
