“My wife and I have been coming to this Armstrong's in Del Mar for years. Admittedly, it's the knowledge, courtesy and service level that keeps us coming back. Today, I called with a simple issue of a pest (trail cam indicates a rat) destroying plants in our raised-bed garden. Michelle answered the phone and walked me thru my options. I visited the store and Tracie assisted me - then both ladies talked to me about the solution for our garden and were just very pleasant. It seems rare anymore to experience this level of service - it is a real differentiator. Thanks to all there.”
“Cuffel Farms is THE place to go for air plants. Andy was incredibly knowledgeable and was patient with helping me choose which plants would be best for my skill level and placement. “This place is succulent heaven!! So many amazing succulents jam packed in a gorgeous little shop. We spent over $500 on some unique finds including a beautiful massive elephant's foot and a unique wish list pachypodium!! Loads of smaller, rare but super affordable plants. I could have easily left with twice as many plants but my dogs and child need space for the road trip home.”

“Lot was smaller than I thought, but still a nice visit browsing and wandering. Like other reviewers said, prices for soil, pots, and plants were surprisingly priced competitively -- might as well support an independent nursery! Came for Mia Carville's blueberry class February 17, 2024 and it was very helpful to me. Simple and clear instructions. I heard someone else say this was the third time they've attended this class. I was looking for a product that was sold out and staff were really helpful in trying to help me locate it and then letting me know I could come back in a week when they would be restocked.”

“Very satisfied with our experience at Moon Valley. We were looking for potted bamboo to add a barrier on our patio between our neighbor’s house and our fence line. Adam helped us select the bamboo plants and select our pots - they had a lot of options at reasonable prices. On the day of planting, George and his crew came as scheduled and took such immaculate care in planting all 5 pots, lining them up evenly along our fence line and cleaning the area once complete. George also thoroughly explained how to care for our plants. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Moon Valley.”

“I love this place!! We bought a home and had the previous owner had a massive hippo statue that was in the front yard. Unfortunately once we closed on the house, the owner took the hippo. He told me he purchased at Cordova decades ago. So I contacted Cordova myself and after about 25-30 years they tracked down the mold through different companies and ordered me the hippo to replace the previous one. Super thrilled with the replaced addition and the staff for tracking this down for me!”
“I would consider my wife a semi-pro expert at orchids. Her go to person is Andy. There is no one better in Southern California or maybe anywhere. His selection is unmatched. I mean rows and rows and so many different kinds of orchids. There is no place better than Andy's.”

“This guy is at the Thursday Oceanside Farmer's Market now! If you're wondering why his brick-and mortar store has poor hours, this is probably one of the reasons why. This business breathed new life into my opinion of farmers markets- in a world where buying local is now typically more expensive than going to chain grocery stores, the prices here are very modest. I am super happy! He had mini succulent gardens for 3$, hanging plants at 10$ each or 2 for 15. I found a bird nest fern for 15$, including taxes. There is a 50-cent credit card usage fee, and that's certainly reasonable. While I do look forward to shopping at his actual nurseries, I will happily make weekly pilgrimages to the Oceanside Farmer's Market to see what he has to sell.”
“These guys are amazing! I’ve ordered multiple plants and everything has been top notch quality. The pricing is very fair considering they have plants that you simply can’t find anywhere else. Communication has also been fantastic. Highly recommended, although I kind of want to keep this secret to myself.”

“Best prices in town for DG, road 2 base,And many other soils. The rules are you have to wear a hard hat and a bright vest. The soils yard is in the back of the complex and the pay trailer is on your way to the back half way through the grounds. The speed bumps are kinda high so drive slow. Lunch time is usually the best time to go to beat traffic.”
“This is by far the best place in the region to buy succulents. Tremendous variety and extremely fair prices. They usually have a buy-2 get one free sale of some sort. They also have some very creative display designs - hanging fence boxes and such. The staff is always helpful and friendly. Right off the 5 at the Leucadia offramp!”

Martha in hardware was so helpful with buying new locks for my daughter's home. And a worker by the name of Dave went above and beyond with helping me load and tie down the rear door on my rental car. 5 star's to the entire staff.”
“My favorite location. The employees are always helpful. I usually find what I need. They always spend time explaining other options or recommendations to the customer. I’ve only had one run in with an employee. His demeanor towards me seemed to be irritated and angry when I asked him about military discount at the register. Like he could not be bothered by it at the time. Other than that I don’t enjoy going to any other Home Depot other than this location.”
“A lot of friendly staff. We went at 11am on Sunday but surprisingly it wasn't very busy. They only had self checkouts. We went in looking for a particular bonding primer Ace sells but the Home Depot only carries a few major brands, the best one being Kilz.”
“We have been going to Home Depot in Mission Valley for years and are extremely happy with the 'Service', 'Selection' and 'Value' at that location. That said, it was wonderful to get the same excellence in all the above at this warehouse off Genesee Ave in Clairemont. Ryan (who I thought was the "HD Manager") immediately asked how he could help and when I shared that we had ordered a product on-line, he quickly knew what to do - and he did it! I listened as Ryan picked up the phone and introduced himself to a manager at another store with such a clear, calm, and warm voice that I knew he would have a positive outcome from his call - and he did! My guess is that if he chooses, Ryan will be a "Manager" in no time at all.”
“When I was in dire need of a table, but had no idea of the exact pieces or cuts of wood I needed, Quincy and Raymond were there to save the day. They joined forces to give me the best wood for the greatest deal and managed to make EXACTLY what I was looking for (not to mention the $ off the purchase). What great employees. We thought we were done there but the paint crew helped us just as much. This Home Depot was the greatest I have been to.”
