PetSmart
2180 N Imperial Ave, El CentroThis is the first time I've tried Pet Smart, and I really like the way my dog looks. My dog was very nervous and trembling, maybe because it's a new place, but Glenda did a great job even though it might have been difficult to work with the dog. Thank you so much for such a great job.

Petco
532 E Danenberg Dr, El CentroThey had tons of toys on clearance, ailes and end caps. A lot of cat food was on sale. The negative is that the cashier was away helping a customer so a few of us were standing in line waiting for a good minute for her to arrive. Things happen, I understand but there is no excuse when it comes to collecting $$$. Soon enough the line grew to 5 of us waiting to check out.

Salcido's Pet Grooming and Boarding
155 Main St, El CentroFriendly staff and exceptional service! Our pup was super relaxed there and that's saying a lot because we're traveling full time and she gets to meet a lot of different groomers. These people met and exceeded our expectations. Oh, and her cut is super cute too.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

The Burger and I
3451 Dogwood Ave #1396, El CentroHad a delicious mango margarita while I waited for my burger. The staff were nice and still took my order even if it was 30 minutes to closing. I ordered the Southern California burrito as I've never had chorizo in a burger before, and it was decent. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was friendly and they had a baseball game on for those who like watching a good game while eating.

D'Poly Taco, Grill & Beer
1573 Main St, El CentroI can’t count the many times I’ve been to this lovely place. I’ve been here in its good days, and other times where it could be better. However, seeing other reviews point out “bad attitudes” from waiters, or whine about costs that ~obviously~ reflect current market prices — Imma go up to bat for them.
The food is seasoned enough to allow those who want to add more salt, pepper, or salsa; flavor is bland? Add some more, it’s called free will. Too greasy? Point me to a grill and bar kitchen that leaves no grease spots on your napkin. The quality of food is as good as it can be, depending on who’s in the kitchen. These claims of “San Diego prices” make me laugh, knowing well enough that prices are up almost everywhere. Let’s face it, it’s expensive because produce is not so cheap these days. The only way you’ll really make your wallet weep is with their cocktails, which are all delicious.
Finally, the waiters and hostesses. I don’t know if y’all know this, but they’re not robots. They too have their good and bad days, and sometimes you just gotta accept that their not-so-perfect reactions is nothing personal to your not-so-perfect behavior. In fact, in their toughest moments, the charisma they can spare makes me smile. They can only do so much with the section they’re assigned to, and they definitely don’t need a table that acts like a whole other section.
Take this place as it is, or leave it to the REAL eaters ?

Connection Café
450 S Waterman Ave, El CentroWhat can I say, I love this place. It’s attached to a church “connection” which I loved on my busiest days helped me slow down and recharge. Not to mention they have the best cup of coffee in town, I know this as I’ve tried all of them. But honestly drop in, order the flat white, get an amazing panini which I think is way too cheap for the amazing quality they provide and enjoy the empowering spirit flowing through this place between the church and followers who indulge in the word. I’ll be back connection on this trip or another, thank you and god bless.

Shake & Wake
1490 N Imperial Ave, El CentroGot a Powerberry Smoothie and added protein. It was really good...
Hard to believe it had spinach, kale, and chard in it. Maybe there wasn't a lot of those? However, we were coming back from vacation and it was really tasty. It hit the spot that day, but it is not something I would do frequently because of how sweet it was! Service was quick and friendly. Did not rate for Atmosphere… It's a drive-through!

290 N Imperial Ave, El CentroThis place was one of my favorite places to get a nice and enjoyable lunch or dinner. Unfortunately I moved out of state. So today when I came to visit, I definitely had to come to Mah's Kitchen. Just like old times, the food is delicious with excellent service. Me & my whole family will always come here when we are in town.

Jersey Mike's Subs
1002 N Imperial Ave, El Centro⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Service at Jersey Mike's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Priscilla made this hands-down the best experience I’ve ever had at a Jersey Mike’s. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a smile that truly lit up the room. Her energy, kindness, and genuine positivity immediately stood out.
What impressed me most was how patient and thoughtful she was with a group of ladies who were having difficulty speaking English. Priscilla went out of her way to communicate with them, even attempting Spanish—and she did a great job. That level of care and effort is rare and speaks volumes about who she is as a person.
Everything about the visit felt welcoming, smooth, and pleasant because of her. I honestly wish there were more people like Priscilla everywhere. She’s amazing, and Jersey Mike’s is lucky to have her. Give this woman her flowers—period. ?
