“Great shop! It’s welcoming, reasonably priced and I get great advice from the staff. They fixed my flat and adjusted my brakes. I have had a few experiences elsewhere with shops refusing to work on my e-bike, so great to know I have a solid option right on my way. I’m a fan.”
“I'm right there with the rest of the 5-star reviews here. Greg and his family were so welcoming and friendly to my family and me. My father and I wanted to give my niece a bike as a gift, and we took her to Wheels in Motion. Greg found a (gently used) bike that suits her perfectly and was within our budget. Great service and advice on what to buy. I'd highly recommend Wheels in Motion if you're in the market for a bike or anything similar.”
“My go-to bike shop where I bought my son's and FIRST bike. The staff is terrific, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I continue to get service from them as they are Beyond five stars! Love Tip Top Bike Shop.”
“Gr8 shop! They have a great stock of all the hard to find bike parts/components along with an amazing selection of bikes and e-bikes. The staff love bikes and it’s fun to learn and talk about old bike history with them. My go to bike shop. Coffee next door is good, too.”
“Best bike shop in Berkeley!! (FACTS). I love my bike and the proprietor, Dave, went above and beyond with helping me to find the best Giant *LIV* suited for me.....Great customer service, and great bikes!NamaStoked!??✌?”
“I definitely recommend this place! Scott is the man! I brought my bike to get the rear brake pads replaced. I rolled up right after he opened up and he had me chill in front for about 5mins then came out with tools in hand, even showed and explained to me how to replace my pads for next time. It literally took him about 3mins! On top of that he refused payment, because he's just that type of guy. He would rather educate and help someone out than charge an arm and a leg like most other places tried to do. Even gifted me a free shirt! Sheesh! The service and my experience was second to none! I will definitely be going back when my bike needs some more work. I hope everyone reads this review bc this place is awesome! Thanks Scott!! O by the way those one star reviews were 100% Karen's with a thumb up their u know what!! Haters always gona hate.. Lmao!”
“I'd been looking for my next road bike for a little while and settled on a Factor Ostro VAM. I'm somewhat familiar with the brand and just needed to find a bike shop to work with for my order. I of course went to the Factor website but wanted to see if I might be able to get a better deal on the bike. Checking the list of shops on Factor's website didn't give me a bike in my size in inventory so I continued looking online. I came across Beyond Aero and started checking out reviews and things. Psychotically, I even used google maps to view the street the store is on - just to make sure things were ok! Fortunately, Andres has a number of great reviews so that put me at ease. I knew I wanted the Ostro VAM and I was keen for Beyond Aero's build using Zipp wheels so I emailed the shop. Andres was quick to respond. He's also very patient as I submitted a tonne of questions about the build, sizing, possible swaps, and all sorts of things. Each time Andres responded promptly and never made me feel like I was wasting his time. Unfortunately, Andres didn't have the integrated handlebar/stem combo I was looking for so we agreed a price reflecting that and we made the deal. Andres has built up the bike as far as he can and it's now winging its way to me. I'm beyond excited (get it?) for the bike to arrive and thank Andres so much for putting up with all of my questions and indecision. I do wish I'd been able to visit the shop to more fully experience the buying process but maybe I'll get out there one day. As it stands, a 56cm white/chrome Ostro Vam with Sram Force AXS, power meter, and Zipp 404s is heading my way right now! Thank you again Andres!5/8 Update. The bike arrived very well packed. I had a bit of building to do since I wanted a different handlebar setup so just got all of that done. My build is:56cm Factor Ostro VAM in pearl white and chromeSram force axs with quark power meterZipp 404 wheelsBlack inc aero integrated stem and handlebarPirelli P zero 28mil tubeless tire setupSella Italia SLRMy bike has the cycliq fly 6 camera on the back - don’t waste your time with that until the battery can last more than 2 hours!I’ve only ridden the bike up and down the street but it feels solid and everything is rolling smoothly. Thank you again, Andres!8/17: Another update! I took advantage of a sale BA was having and got some new bling for my road bike. I originally had the Sram Force AXS groupset but upgraded. You can see from the pics I didn't stretch for the crankset though - I'm not Bill Gates! Anyway, the groupset arrived and was straight forward to install using a few online videos. I needed to buy a cable routing tool - about $15 on Amazon, and you need a brake bleed kit but I dad one so all good there. The kit is chromed on the brake calipers and levers, then mostly blacked out for the rest of the components which suits my white Factor Ostro VAM with Chrome logos quite nicely. Shifting is smooth and quiet except for the chain's noise which you would get with all groupsets. Shifting is intuitive with my setup being the right lever shifts to a higher gear and the left lever shifting to a lower gear - different from the mechanical setup but perhaps more logical. I can't speak to feeling a weight difference - I'm not that much of a weight weenie - but there is a psychological affect to having Sram's top groupset on your bike. Does the upgrade make me faster? Probably not. But does the upgrade make me feel faster? Absolutely! Call it superficial if you want but I like it! All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the purchase and Andres made it super simple to order, as always. Thanks Andres!”
“I've lived in Berkeley for years and have purchased several bikes from Mike's Bikes and gone in there for service help many times. I used to think that the service department was terrible. The service people were unhelpful, everything took too long and cost too much. It was to the point that I started going elsewhere for service for a few years.
Just over the last few months I've had some issues with new parts on my bike (that I installed myself) and I've gone into Mike's Bikes for help. My recent experiences have been completely different, the services staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great bike mechanics with great, friendly and helpful attitudes. I would now recommend service from Mike's Bike's to anyone.”
“The Peddler has no peers when it comes to quick repairs at a reasonable price with no appointments. That's service. The staff is professional and courteous. That's service”
