We would highly recommend TLC K9 Rescue to anyone looking to adopt! The Love and Compassion that Suzanne puts into each and every dog that comes into her care is beyond measure, she gives everything she has and more, working tirelessly to make sure that these dogs are healthy, before being placed with potential adopters and their forever homes. She will also schedule a follow up exam as an added measure and check in with you to make sure that the transition for these dogs are as smooth as possible and to address any concerns that you may have. We are so very grateful to Suzanne for our babies, and will continue to recommend TLC K9 Rescue!”

I found out about the Helping Paws Foundation during that emergency, and they have been an absolute Godsend! I am forever grateful for the work they do helping veterans like myself. As a single parent, an unexpected veterinary emergency is catastrophic, but having to choose between life and death because of financial constraints is one of the worst feelings in the world. Here at the Farm Bureau of San Diego County, you can gain education as a farmer, consumer or interested party on many topics of our agriculture region. I dragged my husband semi-willingly to a discussion on California's newest cream of the crop; coffee! It is indeed the hot new commodity. Who wouldn't like to drink their own coffee every day, straight from the land. I just love those fresh cherry beans! We are talking with our co-interested farming friends about a mini coffee adventure of sorts and we might be able to help some at risk young adults at the same time. You can join the Farm Bureau of San Diego as a member, attend slow food events or just learn more about farming in general in our local area. “This is a long overdue review that I hope helps those seeking a senior living facility for their loved one(s) that offers a “culture of care” that is safe, reliable, and accountable. My mother has been a resident at Hidden Glenn Senior Living since July 2019, before and after the facility’s renovations and rebranding. Her care has been of consistent quality throughout her stay there, provided by the core group of caregivers and nurses led by Bree Lofvendahl. We have many family members that are medical professionals that specialize in the care of our aging population (palliative and hospice) and my Mother is a retired ICU nurse. None of us desired to have my mother reside at an aging adult facility because of the negative stereotyping, but the reality is that she/we needed what Bree, May, Jennifer, and all the caregivers at Hidden Glenn Senior Living offer: around the clock care provided by professionals. They understand the varying needs of the aging population that live there and offer family members guidance and education on realistic expectations to have for their loved one. Many facilities operate with canned corporate guidelines that can be good and/or bad, but the culture and quality of care that is cultivated by Bree and her staff at Hidden Glenn Senior Living is unique, noteworthy, and appreciated by myself and my family. I could go on, but the reality is that the peace of mind that Bree and team has offered our family and my Mother over the last 6 years is immeasurable.”

This is a challenging environment in every way; and yet the management team has managed to provide the best living and programing available for this population. Staff here are amazing every day, giving so much more than their pay reflects. Thank you! Mountain Shadows is a premier non-profit caring for individuals with severe disabilities; no easy task on limited state funding! The 29th ANNUAL GOLF fundraiser just concluded and was another great success; thanks to a dedicated team which plans this event. All funds generated from fundraisers, donations and planned giving go directly to support Mountain Shadows clients! I'm so lucky to be a small part of such a wonderful place! Thank you!!!”

“Accessibility: they have accessible parking spots across from the building and then tons of other parking. The lot is never full. The ramp to get up to the entrance is all the way down at the other end of the building though, maybe four doors down. There are only stairs to get on the sidewalk right outside of this doctors office. The door to enter the building is a door where you turn the handle down then push in to enter. There is also a security guard always standing outside so if you need help you can ask them for assistance.Good opinion about San Ysidro Health: this location was taken over by San Ysidro Health a year or two ago and I love it. San Ysidro has a very proactive health approach versus a reactive health approach. What that means is that I sometimes get phone calls from the doctor asking if I want to make an appointment for the flu shot, COVID vaccine, get a pap smear or something else because they see in my records that I am overdue for something. I love that. I love that they call me instead of me always having to call when it's too late.Experience: from the outside this building looks pretty rough and there used to be a lot of homeless people sleeping in the parking lot but they have a security guard now all the time which I appreciate. When you get inside you check in then sit in the waiting room until they call you back. The inside of this location is a lot nicer than the outside. But the best part is definitely the doctors. Dr. Chris Snyder is the best medical doctor I have had in my life. All my life I had doctors who didn't listen to me and ignored when I needed help but Dr Snyder is the first doctor to believe me. That has been life changing. I avoided going to the doctor when I really needed to until I got Chris Snyder as a doctor...now I go when I need to. The only thing I recommend as something that they could improve on is the front office staff not whispering or talking to each other and giggling when there are patients around. A few times now I have felt like they were talking about patients, and one time I did actually hear them say a guy had been there multiple times for the same issue, then they got too quiet to hear, then they laughed. Even if they are not talking about patients, the patients will assume they are.”
