I recently brought my wife’s car to the Walmart Auto Care Center in Glendora for an oil change and initially had a frustrating experience. When I arrived, I was informed that they were out of oil filters for my vehicle. Unfortunately, I was not notified about this beforehand. I was told that I would need to go down the street, purchase an oil filter myself, and then return, and they would give me only a $3 discount, bringing the oil change from $62 down to $58.
What made this more frustrating is that just the week prior I had been there to purchase four new tires for my own vehicle, and at that time they told me they had run out of wheel weights and that I would need to go down the street to Harbor Freight if I wanted them to balance my tires. So hearing another “we’re out of something” situation was pretty disappointing.
However, I do want to give credit where it is due. Max, who I believe is the manager, stepped in and completely turned the situation around. He brought another associate, Jose, into the mix and the two of them went looking for a solution. They managed to locate an oil filter and got everything taken care of quickly.
Thanks to their effort, the service was completed in less than 15 minutes. What started as a negative experience ended on a positive note because Max and Jose were willing to go the extra mile to help a customer.
Inventory issues aside, their customer service and willingness to solve the problem is appreciated. Thank you Max and Jose for stepping up and making things right.”
