Mockridge asks the clerk, “What are those about?” and she explains that they’re mystery bags; that each contains over $25 worth of stuff, but she can’t reveal specifically what. “It’s a surprise,” she says. Wiseass Mockridge asks, “Do you have mystery bags for birds, fish, and reptiles also?” She brightens and answers, “We do!” Mockridge says, “Oh, I thought I was being clever.” And she responds immediately, “Yeah, we were prepared for someone coming in who might think he’s clever.” It's that kind of place, everyone on the staff is very well informed, always courteous and cheerful and -this I find especially nice- clever.

Soggie Doggie and Self-Wash
10055 Wolf Rd b5, Grass ValleyJennifer and Michelle were amazing!! We have a mini goldendoodle who was terribly matted. I thought she was going to have to get shaved for sure, but somehow the ladies worked their magic and she came back a fluffy princess with the perfect cut, along with our other small dog! I sent photos prior for each pup and they replicated exactly what I was looking for! You can tell Jennifer and Michelle both really love the dogs and love what they do! The atmosphere in the shop is full of positive energy and they are kind and gentle with the dogs. We are so pleased we found our new groomers!

The guy at the front desk was great and our groomer Savannah I believe her name was great. If I could critique one thing it’s that they trimmed the dog when I asked them specifically not to do anything except for a bathroom and blowout so I was a little bit bum that they went ahead and trimmed him anyway without my knowledge . Again, not a big deal. I just hate seeing my dog ball sack from the back now. I am also guessing that’s why the price was $140

It was an emergency, after calling several offices this is the only office that said to come in right away. They were very kind and thorough with their assessment of my dog. In all I spent 1 hour there and left feeling good with a plan in place for my Girl. Besides the vet and staff being great, the front desk woman Joan I believe has been so kind with my question as to even sending me a great video on how to lift my dog. She didn’t have to do that but she did and took the time to send that to me. From my past experiences at vet offices, this place has been such a breath of fresh air, and it is very obvious how much they care about every animal they see.

Brighton Greens Veterinary Hospital: Janeway Robin DVM
996 McCourtney Rd A, Grass ValleyOver the weekend our dear elderly cat became very ill. We took him to an Auburn vet and they prescribed antibiotics. By Monday it was clear they were not working so I called the vet we used for years (Best Friends). The front desk told us we would have to drop him off, they didn't check with the Dr., just put up a wall. So we called Brighton Greens. At first they said there would be a $140 emergency charge and we were fine with that, but after checking they found a cancellation and got us in within two hours. After consulting with the vet we decided it was time to give our kitty relief. We were able to to be with him. It seems we may have found our new vet.

996 McCourtney Rd A, Grass ValleyThey saved my dog's life but the problem is they're not 24 hours so when they go home at night the dogs are all by themselves until the next day also on the weekends so that's one drawback The pricing was expensive but you can't really put a price on a dog's life so I paid it The vet was very cool and gave me her cell phone and was cool about me texting and calling on off hours so overall good experience but if your animal has something serious better to take him to the 24-hour vet hospital so someone can care for them on nice and weekends.

Dr. Morrow, having sold his practice in Lincoln, purchased this building and opened his practice here about a year ago. We brought our kitty in for his vaccinations and the doctor performed a wellness exam on him. While we were chatting with the doctor we didn't even realize that his assistant had given our cat his shots. Smooth! The office staff is top-notch, too. We are so happy to have found WCVH.

Top Dog Obedience
14565 Wolf Rd, Grass ValleyBefore taking our dog to Top Dog, his on-leash skills were severely lacking, to the point where it was a struggle to walk him anywhere where there might be other dogs. After just the first few sessions we started seeing a big improvement and our pup seemed relieved to have clear instructions of what was expected of him. We just started the second level class and the little dude is learning all kinds of awesome skills to the point where we now get compliments on his behavior when we're out and about. He really seems to enjoy the classes too. Lori is a true dog lover, perfect patience and training vibes, and super humane and ethical approach. Highly recommend Top Dog to anyone looking to invest in their pet's wellbeing and have some fun with them.

Golden Gate Saloon
212 W Main St, Grass ValleyWe spent Christmas Eve at the Holbrook. Had a beautiful room which they decorated with a Christmas tree! We opened the door to feel like we were home at Christmas.
The restaurant was a treat.
We had the salmon and the burrata plate. The accompanying foccocia bread was excellent also.. The crusted salmon was simply delicious.
The hotel service and the restaurant service was tops. Everyone was so helpful.
HOWEVER, We had reservations at the tinsel tavern speakeasy downstairs. We went to the tavern last Christmas and had a good experience.
The service this year was embarrassingly bad. Cocktail waitresses actually ignored us while serving two tables next to us. She would not even look at us. There was no:
”Someone will be with you in a minute” or “Can I get you something while you wait”
Two of them would not even meet our gaze.
I have no idea why or how they could be so rude. Honestly after 20 minutes of this, Iwent to the bar and asked to be helped and they still waited 10 minutes to take our drink and food order.
Everything else was superb.

Fun and friendly (I was from out of town), but they engaged. That's pretty cool for a small local bar where everybody knows everybody. My sister and I had fun.

209 W Main St, Grass ValleySuper friendly service. The iced shaggy dog is delicious and gluten free cinnamon sugar donut is 10/10. Pumpkin pie latte has good flavor but was way too sweet for me. They were responsive to this which is great as I know it’s a matter of personal taste. I am difficult to please with coffee and it’s often not well received despite being polite. A coffee shop that is flexible to satisfy customers is a 10/10 for me.

Today, child size African Peanut, as say, child size $6.53 with tax! It had pumpkin, orange color curry, tomatoes, slices peanuts! Comes with two slices of bread, the iced water is free! There are also smoothy drinks, muffins, different breads! Organic and healthy, thank goodness unlike many if not all restaurants, they think one just automatic wants dreaded French fries, awful tasty sodas! This restaurant thank goodness not has any these that I just listed! Easily FIVE STARS! This Nevada County, if any in Placer County, that would be $6.45 with tax! Either way, the ten dollar cash was enough, yay ah yay!

CA-49, Grass ValleyShelby is hands down a miracle worker when it comes to breeding Cavaliers! A little over 15 years ago my father got his dream dog from Cavalier companions..
A beautiful king charles cavilier who he named Princess. Around that same time I ended up having my daughter Hailey.. Princess and Hailey basically grew up together and I've never met a sweeter more well mannered affectionate dog! I instantly fell in love with the breed because of Princess!
After my father passed away, I inherited Princess. And then after princess passed, I just knew if and when I got another dog it would be a king charles! So after awhile, I searched through all of Princess old paperwork to find exactly who my dad got her from! And thats how I got into contact with Shelby! She instantly remembered my dad and the puppy he got from her! It amazed me because it had been 15 years!!
I knew right then, that I wanted a puppy from her! Once the puppies were ready we went to meet them and we instantly fell in love with our baby, who we later named Lady.
I literally cannot rave enough about this baby girl! She is the most well mannered, and loving dog.. Just like Princess was!
She does not bark unless playing! And is our perfect little travel companion! ?
The one and ONLY downfall is anytime we take her anywhere it takes quite a bit longer than it normally would, because literally EVERYONE who sees her stops us to ask about her/pet her/Ooo & aww over her.. ? But, we secretly love it!!! ❤️
I fall more and more in love with Lady daily!
I cannot thank Cavilier Companions enough!!!
