“I was a first time customer. I walked in with my two young children after returning a pair of Brooks bought online due to causing blisters on my heels. A gentleman, I’m assuming the owner (?), came to help me and helped me figure out that due to my two pregnancies, and even though the shoe “fit”, I actually needed a full size up from what I had been! He was very patient with me as my two children had their way with the store after my attempts to redirect, but also pay attention to the “runner’s knot” he was teaching me. A woman came and helped distract them. I just appreciated the knowledge, time, and patience these folks gave me. I’ll be returning!”
“I've been an alpinist, backcountry skier, and trail runner for the past 25 years, and having a really solid go-to gear supply place locally is a big deal. I took my splitboard in to get repaired at Mountain Rec, an unfortunate little accident happened during the repair to the deck of my splitboard. Jason, the owner, didn't bat an eye and immediately replaced it. I'm super grateful and will be a loyal customer for a long time. Having such a great gear supply store with such a wholesome owner is a massive asset to have in this community. Thank you Mountain Rec!”
“Great customer service and a somewhat unique experience. I visited the store to try and find a new pair of low level hiking boots. Michelle helped me decide on a pair of Keen Targhee IVs. What impressed me the most was Michelle's customer service skills. Apart from being attentive and knowledgeable, she actually measured my feet - something I have not had done in years. This helped me decide to try boots a half size larger than I would have normally looked at. What a difference! Sure, I left with a new pair of boots but also with a lesson - even feet sizes change over time. Thanks Michelle.”
