“I almost gave 4 stars because there was a minor miscommunication that caused a major problem. When I initially secured my unit, Daisy mentioned their operating hours, but I incorrectly assumed that only counted their office hours, not access hours, based on my previous experience with storage units years ago. Imagine my surprise when I get there after hours with a loaded uhual and can't get in. I was lucky that Laron at uhual Hayward was able to help me. The next day, Daisy was fantastic helping me transfer my unit to a 24 hour access location. When I mentioned my access needs and transferring, she immediately alleviated my concerns in the middle of helping other customers. She was kind, patient, helpful, and very informative, even about how the other location operates. It was my own fault for assuming their access hours and not double checking. The only suggestion I can make is to clarify that facility hours include access hours before people finalize their unit rental. Still, it's hard not to give 5 stars when all my problems were taken care of”

“We recently moved across country. Decided to use Chipman as they are affiliated with United van lines. Driver John was very professional and hired excellent help. Quenisha customer service was also amazing. Very thorough follow through and constant contact. She must've called me five times. The pick up was done at the time stated and the load was loaded. Very efficiently delivery was made within the given time frame, John and Juan unloaded it very fast, everything was great until I started to unpack the following day. Unpacking my TV. I noticed that there was some damage. I called Quenisha and explained the problems. She told me she would get in touch with claims. Claims then sent me a form to fill out which I filled out and emailed back. I received a response from claims with a number that was much lower than I anticipated, I contacted Quenisha and she said she would call claims and have them get in touch with me. Within five minutes I received a call from Bret claims, I then explained my side of the view which she listened to patiently. She then stated that she would talk to her manager and get back to me. Within a couple of hours she did call me back telling me that they would cover the entire amount. I judge a company not by how they do regular business but how they do business when there are problems. This company stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. “Renu the manager was great over the phone, extremely pleasant in person and very flexible with our need for an urgent parking storage space for a small RV/camper van. She was also able to accommodate a last minute challenge with tow truck access to our designated spot and gave us an alternative location without any to do! Facility is clean and organized with secure gate access in/out. Customer service was key and I would definitely recommend for that reason alone!”

“I just bought my first travel trailer, and needed somewhere to store it. A-1's rate, if I pay for a quarter in advance, beat some locations I found that were five to ten times further away from me. They don't have a sanitary dump station, which would've been nice, but their layout and the way it integrates into the streets around them makes their lot surprisingly easy to get in and out of, even with a pretty ridiculously sized trailer. The parking area is well arranged, well-maintained, and paved with tamped-flat gravel, with no visible ruts and even clear and neatly painted lines denoting the edges of each space. It's almost impossible to miss the many camera stations all over the lot, which inspires a lot of confidence.The staff have so far been great to work with. The workflow is mostly done on paper, and there is a physical facility key, but they've been very responsive and flexible and I can't imagine that doing things digitally would offer much improvement. Signup was very straightforward, and we walked through how best to get my trailer into its space in the lot and test-parked it to make sure it would fit easily.I could not be more pleased. Well, okay, technically maybe I could be a little more pleased, but it'd take me some effort to even think how.”
