“One of the best independent bookstores in California. They have a huge selection of books and other gifts. I enjoy the wine bar in the store too! This is a must visit for any book lover”
“Neat little store with a lot of unique choices, a lot of hand made gifts that you wont see anywhere else. Oh and great personal service, Arax is very sweet and easy to work with and she is a packaging wizard. Your gift will stand out from the others from the packaging alone :)”
“5 stars is deserved. The quality for the price makes the value unmatched by any other furniture store. Delivery was prompt and hassle free and even offered in home assembly.
I was unsure about the convertible sleeper sofas initially but was very impressed with what I saw at their showroom. The sofas LaContempo offer do not sacrafice comfort or durability for being convertible which I find is often the case.
Buying experience, quality and price all 5/5”
“Great place to come to get furniture made for you. They do most everything and they do it themselves. The staff is nice the sales is smooth and the quality is by far worth the few extra bucks that you're going to pay for it.”
“Alfonso was amazing to work with. I hit him up last min for items, and he was extremely flexible and willing to work with our circumstances. 10/10 recommend. Customer service was amazing! Thank you for your business ????”

“As a gift for a friend’s major birthday, I tried to find an ankle-length, hooded, dark-colored, thick terrycloth bath robe. Impossible! No one sells such a garment. Solution? Get it custom made. My rescuer? Maya & Company.
Maya searched for the fabric online and in the downtown garment district. Nothing! So she started checking stores for bath sheets (oversized bath towels). She found acceptable ones though I ended up finding a better color and quality online. She created the pattern based on an existing robe and completed the garment with several days to spare. She included terrific finishing details, such as using the towel edging as decorative trim on the pockets and sleeves and creating a “Made Exclusively For” label. The friend is delighted with the gift and uses the robe every night. All thoroughly satisfactory. A great result. Thanks Maya.”
“We went to Leanna Lin’s last month and felt the need to share a positive review! The shop is small but filled with so many cute goodies and collectibles from AAPI artists. I loved the cards and books in many languages, and especially appreciated the ones in Tagalog. The sales associate at the counter was also friendly and warm. The biggest perk of this shop (and a major reason we’ll choose to go to her business over others) is the affordability of collectibles. Smiskis/Sonny Angels are marked up like crazy in so many places in LA and she sells them at a reasonable price, thus allowing for increased accessibility despite its extreme popularity. It makes the drive up here from the west side worth it. Highly recommend going here for the large selection of collectibles!”
“David is one of the most talented designers I know. Not only that, his hospitality and friendliness go above and beyond the industry norm. He can talk brilliantly about any subject and is both generous and fun. His work really pushes the envelope of creative norms, always thinking outside the box. He has a keen eye for quality and design and will make your home stunning.”
“There are people in the comments claiming you shouldn't go anywhere other than Foam Mart in Burbank for all your foam needs. This is certifiably NOT TRUE.
Foam Mart also has a second location in Culver City and they are wonderful there too!”
“Michelle, co-owner of Further Furniture, understands what a customer oriented business means: prompt communication with customers, ensuring convenient transactions, and courteous responses to customer questions or concerns. Plus, they offer unique, quality products crafted in-house. The beautiful dining table I purchased will undoubtedly become a family heirloom. Thank you for a positive, enjoyable experience!”
“the service was fantastic and their pieces were so so so gorgeous and authentic . def on the pricey side but their work comes handpicked from india . ricardo was a great help, he helped me pick out the the most beautiful mirror and i couldn't be happier”
“Galerie Sommerlath is a unique source of tasteful art and furniture in Los Angeles. The collection has a great point of view and we love the pieces that we bought. I was happy to spend my money there as the owner is a lovely person. Thank you!”
“What a gem! Great for Xmas (and not only Xmas) presents, any kind of cute ceramics, candles and even furniture. Their variety of plants is just amazing? The only place where I can actually feel that plants are taking care of?And the atmosphere there is so good that you don’t want to leave.”
“I’d leave six stars if I could. Amazing selection, incredibly upfront on pricing, and the staff goes above and beyond to help when you need it. Scott is hilarious and the best furniture salesman you could ask for. New go-to furniture spot!”
“The store itself is just beautiful. Everywhere you look, there’s something unique and beautifully crafted. The prices are very reasonable too! I’d definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a one of a kind gift.
They also have your staples too. For example: I noticed a display with an assortment of colorful candles for only $1.50 each. I’ve seen some stores charge as much as $10 for the same thing! Little things like that make me more inclined to trust a business and return, which I definitely plan on doing soon!”
“I purchased a Gino Sarfatti Model #548 Table Lamp from Two Enlightened last month. John Ballon and team were extremely responsive and knowledgeable. The piece was very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Flawless shopping experience.”
“Oh my where do I start. This is my favorite artsy shop in Old Town. It’s very original!
The owner Jill has a wonderful eye for unique treasures. The staff are kind and the location is beautiful. They have expanded for more art. Visit and see for yourself!
Get ready for the holidays.?♂️”
“What a quaint little store bringing natural hand crafted home goods. Love the uniqueness of each and every item. Would love for them to carry coffee spoons though. Grabbed us a few rice spoons to replace the plastic ones we had. No more plastic. ?”
“Love this store and the owner! My friend and I happened to walk in this morning, and I unexpectedly bought my first real piece of jewelry here that I’ll wear for the rest of my life. I was nervous to invest in a piece, but my friend and I really loved Michelle’s personality and I’m so glad I bought a necklace from her :)”
“When I shop for gifts outside of my neighborhood (East Hollywood), Retreat is my go-to. Diane, the owner, has curated a wonderful collection of jewelry, art prints, cards and fun gifts for virtually any occasion. Despite this shop's relatively small size, it is packed with goodies. My go-to is always the card section, where I invariably find a card for an upcoming birthday or, even better, the perfect card for a friend who could use a pick-me-up or a good laugh. My stationary drawer is packed with Retreat cards that I've got on the ready and I am very grateful. There is a great range of options in terms of price. You can find very fun patches and charms for around ten dollars. If you are looking a bit higher-end, there is a lovely collection of jewelry: but you are definitely paying for quality work that will be appreciated. Diane and the various employees are invariably friendly and eager to help you find something perfect for your friend or family.”
“I've been shopping here for years and OK consistently surprises me with utilitarian objects that inspire and spark joy as they say. Was recently on a run around the lake and thought I'd dip in for a look and left with a trash can and a wooden bedside clock with old timer hands which I am obsessed with as it's helping me with my nocturnal screen addiction :) Staff is always exceptional and even if I don't buy anything I leave feeling uplifted. OK, you are more than OK and thanks to my new clock, when I wake up, I'M OK!”
“Wonderful store with lots of beautiful handmade tiles.. we love working with all tiles from there Saltillo tile to the Lincoln tileAsk the store for our number Marco the Tile Man”
“This is truly a gem in HLP! They sell truly special curated items -- perfect gifts. I got some Flowerhead Teas and super cute clothes for my children at an amazing price. I got so many compliments. Get on their email list because they frequently have special surprises for subscribers. The workers are also super nice and offered me a neighborhood discount since I live in the area. Their wrapping/packaging is also super cute. They included stickers and cute tissue paper in my online order (which I could pick up in store to save on shipping!)”
“Such an amazing store. They always have the coolest things that you just don’t find unless you travel out of the country a lot. It’s so nice to get gifts for someone and know that no one else will be getting the same thing. The owner and employees are always so kind and helpful and the prices are extremely reasonable.”
“The moment you step in, there's a cozy vibe that makes you want to explore everything they have. What sets this store apart is the incredible range of handcrafted items - from cool home decor to beautiful jewelry and textiles. Each piece has its own story, showcasing the talent and cultural richness behind it. The fact that they're all about fair trade adds a special touch. It feels good to know that your purchase is making a positive impact on artisans worldwide. The volunteers is not just friendly; they genuinely love what they do. They're happy to share stories about the artisans and give you insights into how everything is made. Whether you're after a unique gift or something to spice up your home, Ten Thousand Villages has got you covered. I love the authentic feel, the variety, and the fact that it's all about ethical values. It's my new favorite spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys handcrafted treasures with a purpose.”
“This is a treasure place. We always dreamed of having a beautiful Moroccan fountain and thanks to the product assortment, we were able to make our dream come true.
Thank you for making this timeless style available to us.”
“Erica, who works at Lake, is a wonderful, talented stylist. Whenever I need to brighten my home or make a shift in my wardrobe, she helps me effortlessly. She's patient and unflustered. My pup and I love it there, and so appreciate her excellent suggestions and eye. It's not inexpensive, but so worth it. The sales rack can be spectacular too.”
“RW is a wonderful part of our local community. The gentlemen who run it and the young woman who works there are also gems. The store itself has countless treasures, but their service and hospitality make it exceptional. They also work with local culinary and creative artists so there are truly unique finds among their merchandise. They make any occasion special!”
“This is a lovely shop with beautiful house plants, artistic & stylish gifts & a warm welcoming vibe. I love to see sweet Chester, the shop dog when I visit. Visiting this creative space is worth a trip to this unique Hollywood {near West Hollywood} neighborhood.
All the flowers, All the Stars.”
“This store changed hands earlier this year. It’s a good thing. My husband had a bad experience here several years ago and didn’t want to come back. Today we had a great time. I had come in on Friday and bought a few things. One thing had a problem and I called and they said to come in and they would exchange it. Yay. We went in and my husband wanted to look around. The two sales associates Reem and Clara Belle were very kind to us both and we had a lot of fun! My husband kept finding more things! The Hallmark ornaments are all so fun and well made. They also have a great selection of Jim Shore collectibles. We’re happy customers. We’ll be back when my wallet recovers!”
