It is such a unique, beautiful and elegant place for a wedding or any special ocassion.I very highly recommend it, especially for weddings, at it is very classy and memorable.The staff is very professional and accomodating. “We got married here in February, and it was lovely! My husband and I met at UCSD so it was special for us to get married here, and honestly the views cannot be beat. Truly one of the most beautiful spots on the west coast. As a wedding venue, there were a lot of limitations to work with: preferred caterers only, decor restrictions, very little parking (which you have to pay for), strict cut-off time, no tables/chairs provided, etc. However, that's why the venue fee is so low, and if you can work within those bounds it will be magical!! We thought we'd be saving $ but in the end the rentals were significantly more than we expected. Still worth it though, for such a special setting. I'd recommend hiring a Day-Of Coordinator who has worked here before, so they are familiar with all the restrictions. Don't let the rules scare you away!”

“The wedding at the Cuvier Club was exactly the wedding that the bride and groom wanted. We had so many compliments from our guests including that the food was very good! Will, from the beginning you made me believe we could plan a wedding from 3,000 miles away.You said you had great staff that would help and you did. Federico, you were there for the food tasting and had lots of other ideas to help make all the selections easier, as well as the lighting that really added to their special day! Petr, as our wedding day coordinator, you were just fabulous. The weather held out and you took some of the most beautiful pictures! We had so much fun with you. I have to say that the communication was outstanding. I could have never planned a wedding so far away without calling, texting, or emailing and not getting a response, all of you answered in a timely manner. Being all inclusive was also key when planning an out of town wedding. I could not have found all the vendors, let alone coordinate all of them as to be where they had to be and when. You doing that for us was huge! There was so much planning that went into this wedding and it was all executed flawlessly. Thank you and your staff again, it was a fun wedding and our friends and family are still talking about it!”

“LJWC hosted our wedding and it was everything we hoped for. We had a wonderful ceremony under the big oak tree out front and had so many great options for outdoor dinner and drinks. The venue is just around the corner from the ocean so we were also to easily get beautiful sunset photos by the water without missing too much time with our friends and family. Erin was a breeze to work with and I can't recommend her and her team enough.”

“We had an exceptional experience at Grande Colonial. We love historical buildings, and they preserved the past well and still had all the living details new and high quality. The staff in particular stood out for being more than customer-service-friendly, but having genuine enthusiasm and kindness. You can tell they enjoy being there. The restaurant was excellent (it’s Michelline rated) and I would highly recommend the Chilaquilas for breakfast.”

“We held our nonprofit Launch Party, Red Carpet and Film World Premiere at the UCSD Faculty Club this week. The venue was amazing and the staff was so professional. The layout was great because we have the theater room and plenty of room in the courtyard to socialize and take pictures.Our guests were very happy with the food and the facility. We highly recommend the Faculty Club to anyone wanting a professional vibe to their event.”

“Amazing ambiance. Amazing bread and oil and vinegar. The pizza was incredible. No price gouging. Food came out quick. The service on the back patio could've been better. The female server was good but appeared to be spread too thin possibly. She was the only server in the back full of people and the front had 4-6 people. I still give it a 5 star. I will definitely be back!”

“First of all, the ticket is a reasonable price and there is staff waiting to hand you a map of the aquarium when you just get in. But I’m kind of disappointed about how small the aquarium actually is and the collection is relative to other aquariums.Also, if you don’t enjoy kids running around everywhere, this aquarium might not be the right place for you. There are many kid’s activities and games which adults need to pass by. But there are very gorgeous view of the beach you can enjoy there as well.”

“This has got to be my top choice when it comes to sushi. The choices went from basic to scrumptious. They started sushi from the basics and made others very unique. I was surprised by some flavors such as macadamia nuts, but overall pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend the sashimi. Their platters and samplers are filled with flavor and the fish tasted fresh every time.”

“A truly stunning restaurant with wonderful service. The mezcal passion fruit drink was great. The food to me was a bit disappointing. For the price of the dishes I feel like there should be more flavor. I got the Salmon and while it was well cooked, I expected more flavor from how the waiters were talking about the food. The carrots in the dish were amazing though. The Peruvian Tuna Crudo was similar. I expected the sauce to have more flavor. The tuna itself was very high quality. The bread however was incredible.”
