Pet Grooming

OC Pawtastic Grooming
7831 Valley View St, La PalmaMy previous grooming shop closed, so I spent quite a bit of time looking for a new one. This place had the best reviews, and all the photos gave me confidence that I was making the right choice.
It turned out to be an excellent decision! The grooming process is very organized, professional, and the groomer's skill and attention to detail are outstanding. You can really see the talent and care that goes into every groom.
I highly recommend this place. You can leave your dog here with complete confidence!

MADE Coffee
10 Centerpointe Dr #3, La PalmaI’ve been making my way through all four locations, and I love that each one has its own vibe while keeping the same quality and menu across the board. This one is the larger one I’ve been to so far. During lunch hour on a week day… boy does it get busy!
The drinks are consistently good, especially if you’re into matcha, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. You can tell there’s intention behind the menu. My friend got the espresso tonic both times and loved it.
What stood out to me is that many of the baristas rotate between locations and are students from local colleges, which gives the whole place a really genuine, community feel.
It’s one of those spots that’s easy to come back to, whether you’re meeting a friend, getting work done, or just stopping by for a quick drink.

Soy Tofu | Korean
4961 La Palma Ave, La PalmaVoted North OC’s favorite neighborhood Korean spot for decades, we are at Soy Tofu in La Palma. Yes, that one Korean restaurant next to Han Nam Chain aka Super1 in La Palma, CA. It feels like a secret because it’s as cozy and comforting as grandma’s house. This is a spot where everyone goes to for Sundubu (Korean Spicy Tofu Soup served boiling hot), or if they want Naengmyeon (Korean Buckwheat Noodles in a icy tangy broth) on hot summer day, or Bibimbap (Stone-pot Korean mixed rice filled with vegetables and meat with a spicy gochujang sauce and sesame oil)—just something comforting, and what they’re used to. This place has been there forever, and it’s under the same owner who wants to spoil us with her Korean recipes. Beyond the great service, delicious made in house banchan aka Korean sides , fresh ingredients and all the menu favorites, you can scoop your own free ice cream in a cone! I recommend Soy Tofu as a solid spot for anyone who is new or super critical about Korean food. It’s a guaranteed delicious spot.

Bingsoo House
Inside super 1 market, 4951 La Palma Ave, La PalmaWife and I enjoyed our first Korean style shave ice, or Bing Soo. We ordered small size, one each of black sesame and mango cream flavors. Both were delucious, but at $13 each, it is a pricey dessert. It might be better to share, if you can agree on one flavor. Bing Soo house is actually located within the Korean supermarket of the strip mall. There are several restaurants in the strip mall, not shown on Google maps, including shops serving: Korean bbq, K broth, K noodles, & Pho.

Maxwell Chicken Rice
7931 Valley View St, La PalmaNice lunch/takeout spot in the area. It is one of the reliable go-to place in the area.
Hainan chicken is nice and definitely lighter meals to go for. Fried is solid but better chances when the owner makes them himself. The price point is very approachable and nice. However, I find this place inconsistent with portion and service time-to-time.
I know big chains can be reliable but we need more restaurants like this that could provide you something different and wider options. I hope this place does well.

Starbucks
5014 Orangethorpe Ave, La PalmaMy husband and I stop here every single morning. It's important to start your day on the right note and this team does an incredible job at it! They literally have our orders memorized and always add a sweet note on the sides of our cups. My morning goto is a bagel & cream cheese and a mango dragon fruit refresher w:peach juice. We usually use the drive thru but there is a walk up window as well. Everyone is always friendly and gives service with a smile.
