“This business goes above and beyond for customers. Years ago when they were at their old location, an OUSD high school student of mine was interested in clothing design and small business. My husband liked this brand, so my student and I reached out to Oakland’s Own’s owner. Right away, he was receptive, warm, and encouraging.
We’ve since bought shirts and a jacket for ourselves and family.
More recently, I ordered kids’ clothing. They communicated a restock delay and EVEN BROUGHT IT TO ME to make sure I could gift it in time to out of town family.
I can’t recommend this business enough. And everything we’ve ordered has always been fire. The designs are hella unique and consistently great quality. Plus it’s run by good folks!

“I often pop in here to get second hand clothes or shoes for my kids. Recently it was my son's 4th birthday and we were all home sick. He had been asking everyday for over a month if his birthday was tomorrow and if he could please have a spider stuffie. He was so sad to miss his birthday at school and I had had no time to buy him a present because we had back ti back illnesses for a month. I called Kelly's corner, they had one and asked if I could pay over the phone and have her toss it out the door to me so as not to infect anyone .she was so sweet and offered to drive the gift to my house (we lived nearby)after work. She even wrapped it in a gift bag and added a few trinkets. It made his day and meant so much to me. Thank you!”

They were very helpful in processing an online return (when the online customer service team was not). They also helped me out with setting up a fitting room so I could try on new stuff. “This Old Navy at THIS LOCATION is one of my very favorite places to shop in this area. More than all the other Old Navy's in the East Bay. This is my first go-to for clothes. Well stocked, well defined areas for kids, women, men, accessories etc. Their brand and styles are great, but not too "out there" or boring. I would say clothes are fun and practical. Value is important - Old Navy clothes wear and wash well...but the time they wear out, the style is out of trend anyway. Clean, bright, safe and no crime worries. Not hectic like at Veranda. Always the best customer service here!”

“Children’s resale boutique with a thrift store feel. Reasonable prices, they have a good rotation, every time I go in I find something. A great place to trade your kid’s clothes for the next size up or donate stuff you won’t use. A great asset to the community with friendly owner. It feels good finding second hand goodies here.”

“I purchased some jeans GAP online during at 50% off sale. However, one pair did not fit well and I wanted to exchange it for a slim cut. Not having had to do an online return, I text chatted with a customer service rep and she explained the steps to return the pants, reorder and pay for the new pants and that it would take up to 25 business days for my return to be processed and credit to be issued. Not wanting to deal with the process, I decided to do the exchange at a store. GAP has been closing many locations and stores are few and far in between. Luckily the nearest store was only 9 miles away at the Lakeshore area and I found a parking space down the block.There was no wait and I was able to walk up to the cashier and explained my intent to do an exchange. She said I would be credited for my purchase, but I would have to purchase the new jeans at the current price and not at the price I paid, which didn't make sense. She said she would get a manager to help me. A manager came and I explained my situation and he checked if the pants I wanted was in stock and it wasn't. So he ordered it online and it would be sent to me and processed my return. The pants went down in price so I even go a credit for the difference. I was happy to get my exchange done at the store and not have to deal with the steps required for an online return. It was not simple like a return on Amazon. Though the cashier did not understand the exchange I wanted to transact, I appreciated that the manager made the exchange transaction seamlessly.”
“I was greeted the second I walked in the door by a very friendly, smiling salesperson named Allison asking if she could help and pointing out that there was a 50% off Labor Day sale ongoing. It's so cute!The store is pretty small and very packed with shelves and merch. You may bump into something or someone. So go there first before other stores to be more comfortable. “Ellington and French is a neighborhood gem. It is the most delightful little gift shop, and it always smells wonderful the moment you walk through the door. My mother had received an email about their holiday champagne sip and shop sale, so of course we had to go! We were greeted with champagne and chocolate, and it looked like a winter wonderland inside. All of their merchandise is so cute, it was hard not to buy the entire store! We came away with some sweet gift and stocking stuffers for family and hearts full of holiday cheer! If you're ever in the market for a little birthday, holiday, house warming, or "just because" gift; or if you just need a joyful pick me up, stop by Ellington and French!”
“All Uniqlo stores are an excellent look inside and outside. This one in Sunvalley Shopping Center is no exception. The store is spotless. All merchandise is very well displayed. Shopping in Uniqlo is an enjoyment! The store layout is pretty much the same as before the pandemic. The clothing they carry is similar to a few years ago. They're mostly very simple and comfortable designs. One of the significant differences between pre-pandemic and post-pandemic is the prices. The price of most of the items is higher than before. Also, they have way fewer items on sale and almost have nothing on clearance anymore! No more bargain items now! I still like comfortable clothes from Uniqlo. But I don't have to motivation to shop in the store anymore without the bargain items! Lol!”
