Note, this location is under some heavy construction on the property but the units themselves are very well kept. Wish they had more loading carts...is all. Good access via app... “I moved recently and needed to rent a van on two days in December - the 23rd and 26th. I was pleasantly surprised by the service that I received and the convenience scheduling they had so close to the holiday. This is a small local business and I'm very happy that I was able to support it.I met three people and all three we're outgoing, kind, and helpful. I was met at the road when I returned the vehicle and didn't even have to go inside. I received my receipt via email in a very short period of time. The billing was spot on and I really appreciate that they didn't waste the paper of printing everything out.I also want to point out that other reviews have a lot of hyperbole around the fact that there is a dog at this location. Bella (the dog) is probably one of the best trained canines I have met. She's a sweetheart. She's running around with a tennis ball in her mouth and trots up for a pet. I really can't State strongly enough that there is nothing frightening about this dog.Now with regards to parking, this business is located in an urban area and there is limited parking on the street. It's very limited. My opinion is that this is normal for this type of area. The other shops in the area also have limited parking and I have never had a U-Haul place that had unlimited free parking. So to put it simply, plan ahead.I want to thank the staff for making my two days of hauling and renting the pleasant experience. Anytime I need to rent a truck, this will be the place that I go.”

“I had a reset Igor a Penske truck. Apparently the location was at a small one man office location in a suite of offices off of Birch and Mac Arthur. But there was an out of date directory, no Penske trucks in sight, no one answered at the office for Nagashi Inc. and come to find out this online reservation was lined up as a One Way out of state. WHICH WAS INCORRECT, I ended up reaching ABC RENTALS which not only answered the phone the guys was extremely patient to listen to me try to explain what was happening. I don't know about you , but these days most people want nothing to do with your problems. These gentleman said they had a rental of exact size they needed and could get me going asap. I got there in less than 10 minute and was very relieved and glad to have come to this little tiny location in my backyard and got the full on friendliest treatment. I HIGHLY Recommend ABC RENTAL for a no nonsense moving truck rental experience. Harry was great and the gentleman who answered my call was beyond patience and helpful for us. Thank you !!!!”

“Our reservation started out rough w Penske. Went to the location my rental was for on 5001 Birch St. Commercial building. No desk for Penske. Called the number on my reservation and was told, that location does not do local rentals anymore. They said I needed to call main number for a new location. Called Santa Ana location. They told me they only had 16' truck. I asked them to check for Monday or Tuesday the following week. disconnected. Called again. Disconnected. Went home frustrated. Called the newport blvd location and Juan hooked me up quick and easy. It was a pleasure to have experienced Juan's excellent customer service. He was smiling when I picked up and smiling even more when I returned the same day before close. As he had 7 reservations for the next day. 10 stars for Juan. United States”

“Getting the truck was a little tricky over phone, nothing too crazy though. However, once I got there, Eddie was EXTREMELY helpful. We had a storage unit right next to Budget that had super tight alleyways and my first time driving it, to load up the storage unit, it took me over 30 minutes to maneuver the truck. Eddie volunteered to drive the truck for me and help get it into the storage place. He made everything so simple and was incredibly helpful. It may not seem like the most upscale workplace but old school values and thoughtful work ethic is something that isn't seen often anymore. Thanks for all your help Eddie.”

“The customer service at this location is terrible, the pricing is also not very good and the truth is the equipment is dirty but the fact is that is how it always has been. If you ask me U-Haul is a very challenging business to run. Could you imagine dealing with customers while they are in between homes. The fact that they're doing business with U-Haul is a sign that they are not able to afford a real moving company. I watched the customer service person deal with a person that damaged a truck. They were claiming that the damaged was already there and it was obvious to me that it was a fresh dent. The yellow paint from the yellow poll the guy hit was literally rubbing off the side of the rig. The reason for the five stars is because the people that work at this particular location are working really hard. Yes I think they need better management, yes the customer service people need to change our attitudes and yes I wish U-Haul would do something about the ridiculous pricing but the fact is that this type of business is negativity every single day so you have to almost feel sorry for the people that work here. Next time I will shop around more, I will look at their competitors and I will also make a reservation much more in advance if I have the opportunity because people are leaving California more than ever and U-Haul is busy like never before. Then you add to the fire the fact that employees don't wanna work, the governor keeps giving everybody money and you end up with what we have. A place that offers a service that we absolutely need but unfortunately has created policies and procedures that are challenging and difficult because the client is also challenging and difficult. That's my opinion anyways.”
“Eli was the associate that helped me out on both occasions that I stopped by. With only one employee working she was very busy and made sure to acknowledge every customer as they came in the door. My complaint wouldn't be for the in person experience it would be to make uhaul's website not explaining that there isn't any reservations for the day I needed. Eli made my experience easier and explained to me the discrepancies between the website and in store. She took her time and didn't rush me through the process. Very helpful, kind, and busy!”
