Who would have thought that a small-town grocery store with a Chevron station would house such a charming little bar? Sammy’s, nestled inside Orlando’s in Linden, California (yes, the hometown of Yankees’ star Aaron Judge), offers a surprisingly delightful experience.

At first, it feels a bit odd walking into a grocery store to meet friends for drinks, but once you get past that, you realize it’s actually a pretty cool spot. The vibe inside Sammy’s is comfortable and inviting, almost like any other bar or restaurant with a well-stocked bar. The friendly staff really know their craft—they were able to make every drink our group requested without a hitch.

The atmosphere was relaxed, and it was easy to forget that just a few steps away were grocery aisles. The place was clean and well-maintained, reflecting a level of care that’s always appreciated. It was a great spot to unwind, catch up with friends, and enjoy good drinks.

Last call did come at 10:00 pm, which felt a bit early but then again, it is inside a grocery store. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening, and I’d definitely go back the next time I’m in Linden. If you’re ever in town, don’t overlook Sammy’s—it’s an unexpected yet pleasant surprise.”
