The amazing staff went above and beyond to remake the cake for her a few weeks later when she was feeling better and able to celebrate. Inside Pet Food Express, 4220 Long Beach Blvd, Long BeachI came here for a dog adoption event that was organized with Ozzie and Friends. They have a back room that they use for events like this. There is also a clinic in the back. And an area that is gated so that we could interact with the dogs and learn a bit more about their personality. Since they partnered with them, when I adopted my new puppy, they gave me a 10% coupon that I could use. So I got a new harness and some training treats for her. They were very helpful when I had questions about which training treats I should get. It been a while since I've had to train a puppy so it was nice to get some advice. There is also a dog washing station in the front. It was pretty crowded the whole time I was there.

I brought her back in a couple days later for something else. He ask a lot of questions then explained things to me that he was concerned about with my cat. I received two follow-up calls from the doc inquiring status of my cat. This is not something I am used to. Highly recommend this clinic. Only downside was, they work by appointment only so I couldn't just walk in and wait for an opening. They were very accommodating in setting up an appointment though.

The entire team is so warm and welcoming, and my dog & I have had nothing but great experiences. Dr. Pador is incredibly thorough, listens to your concerns without rushing through the visit, and is always open to answering questions. I have a miniature poodle with lifelong issues, and I can honestly say this place has been his saving grace numerous times. I love this place. I live 1 hour away now, and I still bring my dog here because they’re so worth it! You’ll never feel bullied into approving unnecessary procedures/tests, you’ll just be given information and alternatives that don’t guilt you. I take care of people for a living, but I have even more respect for those who take care of our pets. 10/10 I would recommend this place.

Primary Care Animal Hospital
2200 N Lakewood Blvd, Long BeachWe had a really good experience at Primary Care Animal Hospital. Our dog started having blood in her urine and was trying to pee but nothing would come out. Our regular vet initially gave antibiotics and medication, and he said if it happens again, we should take her to the hospital for more test as he was thinking there was something in her bladder like stones. When the symptoms returned a week later, we knew we had to take her to the hospital. Since our usual clinic doesn’t offer urgent care, we searched and found this hospital on Google.
They were able to see us the same day. The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming, and even though the place is currently remodeling, everything still felt organized and efficient. They performed an X-ray and urinalysis, found a bladder stone, and clearly explained the situation and treatment options. Because the stone was too large to pass naturally, surgery was recommended. They walked us through the procedure, provided a clear estimate, and scheduled surgery for the very next day.
The entire visit took about 3 hours, and we felt our dog was in very good hands the whole time. She is now on the road to recovery, and we’re so grateful for the care she received. We also appreciate that this hospital is closer to home — we’ve definitely found our new vet.

3434 Atlantic Ave, Long BeachI've been taking my dog Oliver to GOfetch for daycare, as well as occasional boarding and grooming, for roughly a decade and he (me too) absolutely loves it. The staff is always friendly and you can tell that everybody working here absolutely loves dogs. They have live-stream cameras so you can check in on your pup during the day, and regular email communications and updates with clients about special events (adventure walks, "yappy hour" for owners to socialize with their pets, holiday events and more). They even have a pick up and drop off service for local clients. I feel completely secure my dog is in great hands when I leave him with them. I've read some unflattering (and worse) stories about other places, including national "luxury" dog day care chains, and I'm so grateful to have GoFetch as a local pet care business that always excels.

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Long Beach
Long BeachOur dog just came home to us from a 10 day training in Huntington Beach. He was extremely reactive and out of control around other dogs, and I have to admit I was skeptical that he could be trained. His trainer, Jason, sent us updates and videos 3 times a week, and it was outstanding to see his progress, but I wondered if he would act that way at home. Jason brought him to our house for an hour lesson, and we were amazed at how obedient and attentive Luka was. He even walked right by Jason's dog without reacting. I was nervous that I would t be able to replicate the behavior, but I can only describe it as like magic! Luka is now much more calm and attentive, and can now enjoy being a dog without being anxious all the time. We can take him anywhere now, and he can be off leash running at the park. He comes a soon as I call. It will be a whole new life for him and for our family! Jason did an amazing job and we could t be more grateful!

The staff are always friendly, helpful, answer all my questions, talk through all of my concerns patiently and understandingly. I appreciate everyone there. Our pups always come back happy, when we drop them off they don't express any anxiety (I look at this as they too have good experiences while boarding.) In the beginning, what drew us to Joyful Paws was that our pups were able to board in a big suite TOGETHER, and have their own space to play (they are not too friendly with other pups.) And it has worked out for us, Joyful Paws Hotel is our go-to boarding facility on those rare occasions when we are unable to travel with our pups (which we normally do). I appreciate the extra caution Joyful Paws takes to ensure the health of every pup they take care of. Our main concern this year was the virus that is going around that Vets have not identified... The staff was able to talk me through my concerns about this virus and if they have seen any sick pups they have boarded (which they have not at the time we boarded with them), and with our pups back home since yesterday it appears all is well. Although I will look closely at them for the next week, I am comfortable with the cleanliness and caution this facility takes for the health of all the pups. THANK YOU JOYFUL PAWS HOTEL!

We received daily photo and video updates on her progress and a clean off-boarding process to train us (as the parents) on how to continue the training at home. John was extremely helpful and clearly educated in dog training. He gave us clear and concise instructions which were very easy for us to implement. Thank you again John.
As for Shenzi’s progress, there is a VERY noticeable difference. She now understands basic commands - which are vital to break some of her difficult habits, such as barking at people/dog passerby’s. And while we haven’t broken that yet, I’m confident that with tools Pawsitive gave us, she’ll learn in no time.
She is also much better at home, much calmer and easier to handle. She seemed to break the puppy “rambunctiousness” while she was boarded. And bonus points that she seems to be house broken now!
Also more bonus points, they picked up and dropped off Shenzi all the way to us in Santa Monica!
All in all, if you’re looking for a high class, quality and professional trainer, you found your business. We will certainly continue to use them for future training.

Alex Macias Dog Training
4700 CA-1, Long BeachI want to thank Alex so so much for helping us with our rescue dog Hannibal when we first got him he was in the shelter for six months and he was only nine months old at the time of adoption. He was scared of everything and everyone he wanted nothing to do with my husband and I and we just really wanted to give this dog a good home, so I reached out to my brother who went through Alex had all positive things to say and I gave her a call. She came over and really helped Hannibal get out of his shell and now he is one of the best dogs I've ever had and I could not ask for a better dog And that is all due to Alex and helping us train him to be a better dog. She is the sweetest person if you have any questions anything like that she is willing to help out. I am so thankful she was able to help us, and I could never repay her back for all of the joy she has brought to our family I completely recommend Alex and, she will be my dog trainer for every single dog from here on out

The fry's and curly fries were great too, I am looking forward to trying the onion rings and jalapeño poppers next. I just ate it two days ago and I have been craving it since I woke up this morning. Will most likely go back there tonight for another one. I want to try one of their other sandwiches but the classic #1 was soo good I'm afraid to miss out.

Gusto most definitely deserves all the awards they’ve been nominated for. Every single pastry and bread they make is amazing. Staff is friendly. Vibe is soothing, and they are always playing good albums on the record player. Go early as some of their items may sell out by later in the day.

Parking: There's a parking structure with free 90 minute parking. There's free street parking, but it's difficult to find. There's also a free parking lot across the street. Finding a spot in the lot can be a hit or miss.
Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with very few indoor seating. The tables are located in the back of the store. All the ice cream flavors are organized and labeled.
Service: The worker was simply nice and efficient. They allow you to sample any ice cream flavor. The worker that assisted us was knowledgable about the flavors and recommended us her favorites.
Ice Cream: After sampling a few flavors, I decided to go with one scoop of the Vegan Cookies & Cream Caramel Swirl. The caramel flavor was very faint, but the cookies & cream flavor came through. The texture was creamy. It was good enough to satisfy my sweet cravings.
Pricing: Prices are definitely expensive for a cup of ice cream. Considering where it's located, I'm not surprised. It's good for a sweet treat every once in a while.

Osaka story
4905 2nd St, Long BeachWe were visiting from Seattle and wandered into Osaka Story completely by accident… which is now the best accident we’ve ever had.
The staff were so kind and friendly that we instantly felt like regulars, even though we’d just walked in off the street. The food was so good we came back the very next day like, “Hey, it’s us again, don’t mind us.” And the beef yaki udon? Chef’s kiss. Truly “I could write poetry about this noodle” levels of good.
We will absolutely be back—probably more often than is reasonable for people who don’t live here.

The only things I didn't like: Vietnamese iced coffee (did not taste like coffee) and the hot sauce (habanero!). House music could have been gentler. Otherwise I would come back anytime.
