Inside Pet Food Express, 4220 Long Beach Blvd, Long BeachI came here for a dog adoption event that was organized with Ozzie and Friends. They have a back room that they use for events like this. There is also a clinic in the back. And an area that is gated so that we could interact with the dogs and learn a bit more about their personality. Since they partnered with them, when I adopted my new puppy, they gave me a 10% coupon that I could use. So I got a new harness and some training treats for her. They were very helpful when I had questions about which training treats I should get. It been a while since I've had to train a puppy so it was nice to get some advice. There is also a dog washing station in the front. It was pretty crowded the whole time I was there.

Im so proud of him and the new energy sparked by him on walks. I buy venison with sweet potatoes,beef and rustic potatoes, and turkey, plus the pumpkin treats he just adores. The entire team is so warm and welcoming, and my dog & I have had nothing but great experiences. Dr. Pador is incredibly thorough, listens to your concerns without rushing through the visit, and is always open to answering questions. I have a miniature poodle with lifelong issues, and I can honestly say this place has been his saving grace numerous times. I love this place. I live 1 hour away now, and I still bring my dog here because they’re so worth it! You’ll never feel bullied into approving unnecessary procedures/tests, you’ll just be given information and alternatives that don’t guilt you. I take care of people for a living, but I have even more respect for those who take care of our pets. 10/10 I would recommend this place.

8175 E Wardlow Rd, Long BeachI was very pleased with the service and care we received. I thought my cat had a broken leg but was calmed right away by the doctor. I brought her back in a couple days later for something else. He ask a lot of questions then explained things to me that he was concerned about with my cat. I received two follow-up calls from the doc inquiring status of my cat. This is not something I am used to. Highly recommend this clinic. Only downside was, they work by appointment only so I couldn't just walk in and wait for an opening. They were very accommodating in setting up an appointment though.

Primary Care Animal Hospital
2200 N Lakewood Blvd, Long BeachWe had a really good experience at Primary Care Animal Hospital. Our dog started having blood in her urine and was trying to pee but nothing would come out. Our regular vet initially gave antibiotics and medication, and he said if it happens again, we should take her to the hospital for more test as he was thinking there was something in her bladder like stones. When the symptoms returned a week later, we knew we had to take her to the hospital. Since our usual clinic doesn’t offer urgent care, we searched and found this hospital on Google.
They were able to see us the same day. The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming, and even though the place is currently remodeling, everything still felt organized and efficient. They performed an X-ray and urinalysis, found a bladder stone, and clearly explained the situation and treatment options. Because the stone was too large to pass naturally, surgery was recommended. They walked us through the procedure, provided a clear estimate, and scheduled surgery for the very next day.
The entire visit took about 3 hours, and we felt our dog was in very good hands the whole time. She is now on the road to recovery, and we’re so grateful for the care she received. We also appreciate that this hospital is closer to home — we’ve definitely found our new vet.

The class schedules are also very convenient, making it easy to stay consistent without disrupting our routine. Every session feels well-organized and productive, and you can really see the progress week after week. I have seen a difference in my dog’s behavior since joining these amazing classes!

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Long Beach
1315 E 56th St, Long BeachI highly recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone who wants to take their dog training journey to the next level. I was first introduced to SMS by a friend and after seeing how well trained his dog was, I knew I had to take my dog to be trained with SMS as well. We were able to train our Goldendoodle, Zeus, and were surprised at how well we got him trained with the help of Lisa and SMS.
Fast forward a few years, I adopted an American Pitbull Terrier, Naia. Naia is a rescue dog who we assume had a rough history prior to adopting her but also after we adopted her, she had an altercation with one of my parent's dogs at home. Immediately, I knew I had to take her to SMS. Lisa and all her staff have been wonderful with Naia since day 1. We are about a month in to her training with SMS and it has been a complete transformation with Naia.
One thing I will say is do not get discouraged by the price, as the training and everything you get out of it is 100% worth the price!
Also, as with any dog training, be aware that you get what you put in to it. You will need to put in the work day in and day out with your dog to be able to achieve success in your training journey. But the good thing with SMS is that you will have Lisa and her staff there to help you along the way with every step you take!

4700 CA-1, Long BeachAlex is beyond incredible! When my dog Juno's arthritis and spondylosis got worse, so did her anxiety and reactions to other dogs with me present. Our main struggles were with Juno guarding me and her extreme anxiety in new/overstimulating environments. Previously, Juno would fully charge at other dogs that got too close with scary growling and barking. Now, with the tools Alex has given us, there has been tremendous progress! Juno is much more adaptable in various environments and much less reactive towards other dogs. I am beyond grateful for Alex and how much she has helped, it has greatly improved Juno's life. We're going out a lot more without having to do hours of desensitizing and I'm no longer anxious about Juno if other dogs get close on a walk.
Juno has been stellar at keeping focused on me instead of distractions since training with Alex. Juno couldn't have gotten to this poing without her! Everything we learned has been invaluable. My relationship with Juno feels deeper and more steady, and Juno is loving having more freedom again like she did as a younger pup. I cannot thank Alex enough and am eternally grateful!

They made my boy feel welcome and gave him the love needed to help him adjust. Mary was especially very kind and reassuring! I watched him from the live feed all throughout his stay and there and was very impressed with the cleanliness and care put into taking care of the cats by the workers. I would definitely book Kyo here again especially as it felt like a home away from home and made me comfortable leaving Kyo in Joyful Paws very capable hands.

3960 Cherry Ave, Long BeachI've been taking my dog, Donner, to the Pet Set since 2023. To say that it's his favorite thing is an understatement. He is absolutely obsessed with going to daycare. He'll get mad at me if I pick him up early.
When I got home from deployment, he was at daycare. I was so excited to see him after months of being away, and I decided to pick him up early. He was more annoyed that I showed up early to get him than he was excited that I was finally home.
While I have mixed feelings about the fact that he likes daycare more than being reunited with me, it's wonderful to know that he feels so safe and loved while he's there.
The staff is fantastic, they learned his name and his quirks very quickly. When I come to pick him up, I'm given updates on how he was that day (he's very moody) and it's comforting to know that someone always has an eye on him.
The facilities are great and always kept clean. I also love the fact that there's such a large outdoor space for him to run around in.
I absolutely recommend the Pet Set to any pet parents that are looking for a trustworthy daycare that truly loves and cares about the dogs in their care.

We got a table right away. The woman taking my order at the counter was so sweet and helpful. She even customized one of their drinks for me. We had a really nice time and can’t wait to go back.

The staff has always been friendly and the coffee has always been on point. The baked goods match the high quality of coffee and service and keep me coming back! Osaka story
4905 2nd St, Long BeachWe were visiting from Seattle and wandered into Osaka Story completely by accident… which is now the best accident we’ve ever had.
The staff were so kind and friendly that we instantly felt like regulars, even though we’d just walked in off the street. The food was so good we came back the very next day like, “Hey, it’s us again, don’t mind us.” And the beef yaki udon? Chef’s kiss. Truly “I could write poetry about this noodle” levels of good.
We will absolutely be back—probably more often than is reasonable for people who don’t live here.
