The Good Liver is a modern general store located in downtown LA, dedicated to offering a thoughtfully curated selection of high-quality, functional goods from around the world. Inspired by simple living and timeless design, the store showcases a range of items that emphasize craftsmanship, history, and philosophy. Visitors can discover unique soaps, candles, kitchen tools, and glassware, many of which originate from Japan, Germany, Portugal, and other countries. The store places a strong emphasis on storytelling, sharing the background and tradition behind each product, especially in their tea-making section which reflects a reverence for tradition and humility. The shop’s aesthetic is modern yet mindful, with beautifully displayed items carefully chosen to inhabit each shelf and display case. The focus is on quality and utilitarian design rather than brand hype or atmosphere-driven prices. Customers appreciate the store’s friendly service and its ability to offer a unique shopping experience. While some may compare it to other hipster general stores, The Good Liver’s intent and curation set it apart as a genuine and authentic destination. Although parking can be challenging, a nearby paid lot makes visiting easier. Overall, it’s a place to find special gifts, explore global craftsmanship, and enjoy a serene ambiance filled with beautiful, meaningful products.
One of my favorite LA lifestyle/general stores highlighting high-quality international home goods.

Such a beautiful store that I stumbled upon randomly. I love coming here to buy unique gifts with unique stories. I also just love coming here every once in a while to look around and be filled with the beautiful ambience and products from all over the world. I will be back again and again.

What a wonderful place to find amazing houseware goods from Japan and other places. Beautiful curation. Parking is horrible on the street but there is a paid parking lot just west of their building.
