Rural Supply Hardware is a great local hardware store and an Ace Hardware. It is small but excellent with a surprisingly good selection for a small shop. The store offers an excellent selection of varied, quality goods and useful gadgets, from parts for home repair to baby chicks. It is described as a convenient place, located just on the south end of Los Gatos, allowing mountain folks to be in and out quickly without town traffic. Parking is around the side. The staff is exceptionally helpful, friendly, and provides excellent technical help, creating a really friendly atmosphere. As the helpful hardware folks, they are committed to personal service. A 10% discount for those over 65 is also available.
Everytime I walk into an Ace Hardware I realize how much I hate the big box stores. Far more variety, knowledgeable help, and vibe at Ace, particularly this one. But Bemjamin-moore paint is too expensive.

Good variety, and a very helpful staff. Prices are on the higher end of the spectrum, but it always feels good to support a local business.
