“I am an Afghan immigrant arrived in the USA with my husband and two young kids on May 15th- 2023 , since the very first day our journey started with Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley we found all member very supportive, they helped us with intake paperwork, assisted us with public benefits and kids in school.Helped us familiarize ourselves with public safety and what to do in an emergency.Provided food when we needed, helped with a housing program, they rented nice apartments for us, provided furniture, household goods, appliances, and more and more.The Console Career with JFS found my husband’s dream job as Sales Consultant.They coached me through the job search in the U.S. — teaching me about U.S. work culture, helping me with my resume, and connecting me to training resources with Upward Global.From very first days of our arrival, I was applying to every opening job so I couldn’t find any job in my field in the San Jose city. Despite my persistence, I was frustrated by the lack of results. I refused to give up on my dream of finding meaningful employment in my field in the U.S,I have been hired as an Import/Export Specialist at one of the IMPORT/EXPORT companies in the USA.I am very thankful for all team of Jewish Family Services Silicon Valley, and my special thanks to the Console Career who found my dream job. Because of JFSSV continued support, I was able to contact my employer and schedule an interview. He offered me the job! I'm very grateful for the help in my search for my dream job and referring me to the position.With extra efforts of JFSSV’s I was able to maintain a solid learning schedule and was best positioned to prepare to pass my interview.”
