“Great local bookstore, really nice and helpful owner and staff. They have a ton of titles for a modest sized shop, and well curated.
Also, if they don’t have one you’re looking for they can order it for you.”

“Having a local book store is so important to a community. This shop is wonderful. You will love walking into this sweet shop. The staff is fabulous in helping you find the right book and if needed, can order and it comes quickly. I also if I buy from www.libro.fm instead of big box stores, it helps support my local shop and not big corporations. The shop has great book clubs. So find a club to meet new people, go to the shop and meet the wonderful staff, call, to order and always use www.libro.fm if buying online. The prices are the same as big box and it supports local.”

“They have an eclectic collection of books, movies and music DVDs. Apparently, these are donations that didn't make it to the library shelves. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. I actually like this place better than the Pleasant Hill library which has tried to become too many things. If you are a nerdy bibliophile that likes older reading material, try this bookstore.”

“I'm biased, because I love any bookstore. However, they moved the location in walnut Creek, and now it's right at the heart of all the shopping, and next to two parking garages, which was lovely. Kiddy corner to the Cheesecake Factory, an added bonus.”

“A light-filled spot with lovely books for little and not-so-little ones. We got several sweet books (e.g., Letters to My Grandchild) authored by Lea Redmond, and the warm storefront attendant Elizabeth wrapped beautiful gifts for the grandparents, who will definitely be delighted when they receive their care package. Thank you!”

“Cindy and Cindy were great help in picking out Christmas gifts for the family! Their selection of rosaries are amazing! The crosses were absolutely beautiful. I ended up spending over 200 dollars for the entire family. The items are affordably priced! I will definitely be back for birthdays! I am proud to help local businesses! God Bless you and Merry Christmas!”

“I visit Berkshire Books whenever I am in the Bay Area, and I always find something interesting and engaging for my book collection. This place offers the true used book store experience, with a wide selection for satisfying browsing. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, as well.”

“This place attracts a strangely high frequency of obnoxious customers, but otherwise I have no problems with it. Books are, of course, very cheap, and they have a huge selection. Not everything you want is always in stock, but that's just the nature of it. Sometimes trade-ins are worth it, sometimes they aren't--but at least the store has that feature so you can clear out some space on yr bookshelf. Strangely good selection of poetry chapbooks, and fun to look at the video games behind the locked glass cabinet. Decent selection of CDs (music), good selection of LPs. Lots of TV. Of course they have like, trinkets/stocking stuffers and notebooks. Just an all-around solid bookstore.

However, the employees are somewhat unprofessional, and the customer base is super stalkercreep.”

“I am London based and wanted to gift a book to a friend in CA, without resorting to global online sellers. I found Reasonable Books and Rudy and Betty, the owners, were fantastic and delivered a friendly and faff-free service. I will definitely shop with them again.”

“Was in the neighbourhood for dinner with friends, and had some time to kill. We saw this near where we parked our car, and popped in for a quick visit. The bookstore was larger than expected! Had all genres of books and some gift products up front. I love the books with staff recommendation cards with them -- always great to learn about new stories! We were greeted by two friendly staff members. As my friend made a purchase, she was asked if she'd like to round up the purchase with a donation to books for local students in the Bay Area. What a great initiative! My friend said yes, and the two staffers gave a delightful cheer. I love shops that support the local community and clearly this was one such place! They also had a bulletin board for local events. Pricing is average but you can find some books for sale!”

“I absolutely love this place. I'm confused by the reviews saying the prices are high, and this is by far the cheapest used bookstore around. The selection may not be as extensive as some of the bigger stores, but I always manage to find something interesting when I'm there. The staff is incredibly sweet as well.”

“What a great bookstore! And it's a really great place for last minute kids birthday gifts, they do a great job with the complimentary gift wrap. The people who work here are the best. ❤️”

“Ashay by the Bay is a truly special online bookstore, dedicated to showcasing children's books that feature authors of color and celebrate diverse protagonists. They excel in providing a wide selection of books that center Black and Brown characters, filling a vital need in children's literature. Whether you're a parent, educator, or book lover, Ashay by the Bay offers valuable and enriching experience.”

“Cool little comic shop. It is a smaller store so don't go in thinking you can dig through crates for aged back issues but they still might have something you're looking for or something you didn't know you wanted. The gentleman behind the counter was nice offered help and showed appreciation for me as a customer. When I was finished up selecting my purchases he asked if I was signed up for the customer loyalty program and when I informed him I wasn't from the immediate area he perked up a bit and gave a real genuine response of gratitude for coming in. Thanks for being fantastic.”

“Let's support our local bookstores even if they're smaller than they used to be and don't have every single book ever made.

Workers here are always cordial and friendly. Cafe is reasonable and decent.”

“The best main line church. Church sponsors many programs for the homeless. Congregation leans towards the senior side but is open and welcoming. Several of Walnut Creek's founding families worship here.”

“Really cool spot! Wonderful and knowledgeable owners. I was recommended this place by my reiki teacher. They do aura readings where they take a Polaroid picture of you so you can see your aura instantly! They are great at explaining the colors and what they mean. Will definitely be back here again.”
