“We've been trying to get out here for years. Decided to celebrate our 35th anniversary at BGI. The Inn & team did not disappoint. Beautiful property & super cozy place. With that said, the team there is amazing, friendly & took great care of us. BGI is blessed to have Chef Steve creating his complimentary evening light bites that are more like dinners. Each night is something new & paired with the wine hour. We indulged in the chef's table dinner one night & had a wonderful one on one with chef. From our first smile from Isabel at arrival to our last smile with Jaime at the end, Josh, you were right there with them helping chef & everyone in between... thank you for making our anniversary special. We'll be back for sure!”
“Amazing stay at the Alegria Inn. I came just for a day, but all the staff, innkeepers, and owner were very professional and accommodating. Location was very clean and good attention to detail on all the small things. I originally was staying in Village Farm Retreat but they gave me the option to upgrade to Driftwood cottage. The natural lighting and feel of the room was great and was an unexpected surprise to the end of a long vacation/travel trip.I think there is a lot that comes into being a good host, with intentionality and simply just caring. I felt very welcome and comfortable and will definitely come back and recommend Alegria to my friends and family.”

“My wife and I stayed in the Amber Room for one night over the weekend. Check-in was quick, and the room had a balcony and was very clean.
Pros:
1. Clean room with a pleasant smell.
2. Great location , close to the city and main attractions, with the possibility of watching the sunset from the provided chairs.
3. Comfortable bed and pillows.
4. Very quiet ,no noise issues (despite what some other reviews mentioned).
5. An ice machine, tea, coffee, and oat cookies available 24 hours in a room beside the lobby.
6. The room had a jacuzzi (which I didn’t use), and the shower was clean with good water pressure.
7. Tea, coffee, microwave, and iron provided in the room.
8. Fireplace and heater in the room.
9. A supermarket called Harvest is just 2 minutes away by car, open until 10:00 PM , very convenient.
10. Good and decent breakfast with a beautiful ocean view , scrambled eggs, bagels, sourdough toast, coffee, tea, cream cheese, chia pudding, granola, etc. Breakfast starts at 8:00 AM and the staff were very nice and welcoming.
11. I personally recommend planning a visit to Russian Gulch (about 2 miles from the inn) — it’s breathtaking nature and a must-see.
Cons:
1. No cell phone coverage (which could be a plus for those who want to disconnect!), and weak Wi-Fi in some areas.
2. The room has no mesh screen, so you can’t leave the door open for fresh air; also, there is no A/C for warm days.
3. Curtains need an extra light layer behind the main dark curtain , this would allow natural light while keeping privacy.
4. A bit pricey, though understandable for the location.
5. Reception did not accept my request for a late checkout. Standard checkout is 11:00 AM, and I asked for 12:00 PM (which I think is reasonable, especially as check-in is at 3:00 PM). I left the room clean like my own home, only this experience affected my overall rating, from 5 to 4.
Overall:
I recommend this inn and would stay here again.”

“What a lovely little inn! We had the cottage for four nights and loved it. It was so spacious and comfortable. The bed was divine and the fireplace worked great. Having breakfast delivered every morning was amazing! Such a nice touch and a great start to the day. Also, the wine and cheese house at the Blue Door is a must do for guests. We enjoyed popping in there for the daily cookies too! The staff was kind and welcoming.
Everything was perfect and we loved our time in Mendocino so much.”

“I had the fixed menu and it was delicious!! The space is beautiful as is the ambiance The food, service and wine choices were also excellent. To top it off a couple sitting near me contributed considerably to my meal! If you are reading this, many thanks. In a world that seems cruel at times, kindness like that is so precious. Even alone I really enjoyed my meal. It was a brief vacation before spending time with family.”
“There is no heading for the town of Mendocino, CA so I used the hotel Mendocino to review what we saw in the town and visited. On our way back home we stopped in the little town of Mendocino, CA. The smaller version of artsy onclaves like Carmel or Sebastopol. Not entirely isolated, but the community is quiet and prices for real estate just astronomical and we have family roots in Sonoma, Marin and the Monterey areas. Not touristy but artsy. Stopped at the "waiting room" coffee shop for coffee and a glass of wine. Then on our way home. There are some nice food offerings here, but we were too late to sample them.”

“The place is very quiet but beautiful and relaxing. Very nice service that also offered us games, coffee and water. And the rooms are also very comfortable and give off a sweet vibe :)”
“This was such a great experience with my dog. The restaurant is delicious, the grounds are lovely. The rooms are super comfy and the donkeys are so sweet. But, the solarium with the pool, sauna, and hot tub is the absolute best part.
I like that they have cast on the TV so you can play directly from your phone.”
