Papa Bear's Chocolate Haus in Mendocino is a treasure and a gem of a place. It is a great shop right on the coast where many people stop every time they are in town, making it a yearly tradition. The chocolate maker is a master at his craft, creating handmade chocolates and sweet treats that are undeniably delightful and taste amazing. They have a very nice variety of so many yummy options. This includes a great fudge with or without nuts, the best peanut butter fudge, divinity, and white chocolate with fresh raspberry. Their dark chocolate mint is a perfect balance, and they have the best handmade caramels, like the milk chocolate caramel and the amazing pecan and caramel roll. Other great items are the orange slice covered in chocolate, the caramel chocolate bar, and chocolate nut clusters. The staff is always helpful and kind. The experience is great and definitely worth it, with many customers planning to come back if in the area. People recommend buying and tasting some right there to stock up. Some note the portions have gotten a bit smaller, so be mindful that the price might not quite reflect the size. The shop is kid-friendly and has wheelchair accessibility.
