“Probably the most honest and straightforward mechanics I’ve meet. He helped me with my ignition coil fuel injectors and spark plugs. He took extra time to make sure everything was working properly even fixed some other issues I had no extra charge. He answered all my questions willingly and respectfully. “I’ve been going to Louie at Campus Automotive for close to 20 years now, and a couple moments really stick with me. When I was younger, I brought in a car thinking I had a serious engine issue. Instead of taking the job, Louie immediately told me it was something the dealer should handle and not to spend my money on repairs there. He could’ve easily taken advantage of the situation, but he didn’t and he was right.
Fast forward almost 20 years, I had some major work done on another vehicle. I was quoted one price, but when it came time to pay, it was significantly less. When I asked why, they explained the parts they ordered already included some of the components, so the cost dropped. Again, something they could’ve easily kept to themselves.
That’s the kind of place this is. Honest, straightforward, no games.
On top of that, the cars always come back running like new after repairs. Even something as minor as changing a turn signal bulb, they’ve taken care of without charging me.
Over the years, Louie has always been professional, fair, and takes care of his customers the right way. On top of that, him and his team give back to the community and support local efforts, which says a lot about who they are.
If you’re looking for a mechanic you can trust, someone who’s going to treat you right and not take advantage, I highly recommend Campus Automotive.

“These guys rock! After talking to my insurance agent Terry Solono from State Farm because something hit my windshield and put a big crack in it. she connect me to Don’s Mobile. I got a call back right away from Chelsea. Very professional, very polite and easy to talk too. This was Monday. I told her I had an important meeting on Tuesday. She said she would get right back to me. She did. She said she could pick up my car at my home around 2:00 on Tuesday. She called me Tuesday and said she could come and pick it up at 12. She picked up my car and returned by 2:30. Outstanding service!!”

“This was my first time at this smog shop. I was in need of a smog for my truck and made a last minute drive to Merced. They got me in just minutes before closing and ran the test immediately. “After having really bad experience with two other mechanics, I was so glad to find these guys. They did an excellent job fixing my cam seals, front crank seal that the previous mechanic didn’t do during a timing belt service. My vehicle was done in a day, including fixing my power steering system. I have 350,000 miles on my 1994 Toyota 4Runner owned it for 28 years. No mess, no dents, no drips after these guys worked on it. I was in a little sticker shock on the price however.($2200) Plus I was charged for red antifreeze but none was put in.. I have green. “My 2022 Ram G/T had a screw in the shoulder of the rear tire , normally means tire replacement , so drove to Big O tires and Josh was fantastic ! He researched and found an exact replacement so I drove in the next day to pay for the new tire . Before we ordered it , Josh took a look at the screw in the tire , then pulled it out and checked it for air leak . No air leak , so Josh saved me $275 bucks !
