“Five stars for the Mill Valley Inn at 165 Throckmorton Avenue in downtown Mill Valley. We stayed the night of May 31 and it was everything you want from a small inn in Marin County—charming, impeccably kept, and steps from the heart of the village. Our room was clean and quiet with a balcony looking into the trees, and the little touches set the place apart: a complimentary wine-and-cheese hour in the evening and a generous breakfast in the morning, both included. The staff were warm and attentive without hovering. What makes the Mill Valley Inn special is the location: you can walk out the door to the shops, cafes, and bookstores of downtown Mill Valley—we strolled to The Depot on the plaza—and you're a short drive from Muir Woods, Sausalito, and San Francisco. It's the rare hotel that works equally well for a romantic weekend, a wedding stay, or a quiet base for exploring the redwoods. If you're looking for the best place to stay in Mill Valley, this is it. Highly recommended.”

“Wonderful breath of fresh air. The views, facilities and relaxation is so close to home, yet, first time for me. We enjoyed the trip immensely. The Park Ranger told many stories and enjoyed our wine and cheese. The rustic setting that sits atop the mountain was amazing. The kitchen was vast. Dining experience just delightful. The very best part of it was following morning waking up to fresh coffee and looking out over all those clouds moving so quickly - the downtown San Francisco skyline peeking up from the white powdery fluffy goodness. Fantastic.”

“This is an older hotel with minimal amenities but PERFECT location, super clean, comfortable beds and surprisingly quiet rooms for being adjacent to a major freeway. It's easy to book great rates and friendly employees”

“Very helpful staff, older facility but very well kept and clean. This reminds me of old school motels that were amazingly well maintained. A very nice relaxing night.”
“To go deep in Muir Woods, I stayed in this hotel. It was clean, ant lot like hotels in the city, every staff was very friendly. Plus, you get free wine and cheese from 5pm to 7pm at reception here. Amazing, if wine if your thing”
