“We camp in Half Moon Bay annually, and this store has it all! Hardware, cleaning supplies, tools, select clothing, paint, lumber, electrical, plumbing, plants, so much to name! Prices are a little higher than in the big city stores, but who's going to make that drive? The staff is always friendly and super helpful, and it's fun just to look around so you know what they have in case you find the need.”
“Had an awesome experience at Ace Haedware thanks to Robert! I came in looking for some screws so I could mount my new TV. I asked for a specific size (43 mm) but Robert was super knowledgeable and suggested 25 mm. Luckily, I was able to find the exact length of the screw needed and he was right! “If you have no other reason to go- this *feels* like a hardware store. I know when I say this I am speaking to a very specific subset of people. However, when I was a kid, my dad would take me with him to the hardware store, and I would get a lollypop while he and whomever from behind the counter would wander around looking for an eyebolt or the right shade of caulk. Giulio- who I assume is the owner, is easily 10 years older than my mom, who lives in the assisted living up the street. My mom can't be bothered to go to the chair yoga we're paying for, but Giulio went to work. He's not totally mobile, but he knows his s#!t. Whenever I come in, he or whoever else is behind the counter is happy to chat through my issue and suggest something. It's not a Home Depot- so they may not have what you're looking for every time- but they have a lot of things, and it makes me happy to know my money is staying local. Also, side story: One day during the summer, it's like 90, and I am behind a contractor who's getting a bunch of stuff - lumber, rocks...I don't know- but he's paying for it, and he grabs some water bottles for him and his crew and puts them on the counter. Giulio totals him up and says a number; the guy says, "Oh, don't forget these waters". Giulio says, "The town where I come from in Italy has the best water in the world, and it flows right off the mountain. If my father knew I was charging people for water, he'd come back from the dead and strike me down. Those are free." C'mon. How can you not go here first?”
“ive been going to daly city tool mart since i started out as a auto technician its officially been 20 years. katherine and paul have been the go to place for tools. they have EVERYTHING and theyre both very knowledgable on whatever job your tackling if they dont have it they can get it for you. if your thinking well you can buy it online for a cheaper price but when your in a pinch and you need the job done tool mart is definitely the place to go. dont price out a mom and pop store support your local businesses.”

I went in looking for a difficult old hardware part, and I was honestly blown away by the knowledge, the selection, and the customer service. This is not the kind of place where you are forced to order something online and hope it fits. You walk in, explain what you need, and they actually understand old hardware, new hardware, specialty locks, brass parts, decorative hardware, and pieces you would never find in a regular store.
The facility itself is incredible. So much to see. So many parts. New, old, specialty, hard to find, and beautifully made hardware everywhere. It is the kind of place that only exists because of decades of experience and real commitment to customers.
I feel very fortunate that we still have a company like this in the Bay Area. Knowledgeable, courteous, well stocked, and still doing business the old fashioned way, with real people, real inventory, and real service.

That means knowing the model number of whatever you're trying to repair and ideally the mfr part number. If you're looking for a capacitor for your AC, give them the capacitor's spec (and buy a spare!).”
